This car is very comfortable to drive or ride in, smooth acceleration, lots of power. The exterior is sure to turn some heads with a front grill that is eyecatching and great shape. The standard sunroof that covers both the front and back seats is interesting. The interior combination of wood, metal and leather makes it look like cars costing much more. I've had the car for about 4 weeks now and still find myself taking the long way so that I can drive it some more.

My Extreme Driving Machine

I've owned a 2004 for 36 months and the handling as well as speed exceed expectations for an auto in this price range. Interior is roomy, while avoiding stodginess and sound system successfully drives the full range of sound at any volume. On a scale of 1- 10, I'd rate my Extreme Driving Machine a 20!! There is nothing to dislike. Once drivers are aware and manage the unfortunate torque steer, the car is very forgiving!! The Maxima is fun to drive, quick and even my 18 year old son wants to drive my Extreme Driving Machine . . . but I always refuse!!

I absolutely will never, ever buy Nissan products again. The issues with this car are innumerable but I'll try and include them in order of decreasing cost to fix: New transmission (other complaints on this site) @ 70K miles, new paint job due to defective black paint that lasted only 3 years, new front struts at 65K miles, new front bearings @ 60K miles, front wheel shimmy is recurring issue since day 1, front headlamps are not clear due to sun after 4 years. The front turning radius is that of an 18-wheeler.

Ive owned a 99 Maxima and you cannot compare the two. There are so many nice features on this car, for one is the style, it went from a old mans['99] car to a nice sporty design. This is a car that needs no upgrade, it already has 18 inch wheels and a great soundsystem for the younger owners and comfort for the middle aged and older owners.

My wife wanted one and I wasn't sure about Nissan. At one time not long ago their cars were not very good. However, I gave them a second chance and I am glad I did. I literally love this new Maxima SL.
