Perfection is called "maxima"
In these times of high gas prices, the Maxima is the way to combine perfect performance on the gas meter and the spedometer. A wonderful ride, and great standard sound system. The only automatic car a "stick" driver would love. Pick up is amazing!
My all-time favorite Car
Excellent car, powerful but smooth with good gas mileage.Super strong transmission that handles evrything I throw at it. i have the Dark Blue matallic color that is great. My only major problem thru 109k miles was my Sunroof stopped working at about 50k miles and Nissan wanted $1500 to fix it but because I was a good customer at the dealer they kept asking for a good faith discount from Nissan and after 6 months they fixed it for 650.00 i highly recommend this car!

95 Nissan Maxima GLE
Great Car...Very Reliable...Still running strong at 240,000 miles, hoping it will reach 300,000 miles. Never done any major repair accept preventive maintenance.
95 Max GLE
Bought the car privately ($11.5K) in summer of 1999 with 57K miles, and now with 77K miles. Used as a second car when transporting 3-4 people, cargo, or whenever I don't want to drive my Z3 or Boxter. Always gets dealer servicing every 6 months, and insist on OEM replacements where possible. Had one breakdown in summer 2003 due to failed starter. Good quality, inexpensive hauler that allows me to have 2-seaters for daily driving.
Bullet Proof
I put on a lot of highway miles in the first three years. Had to replace the starter twice, new shocks. Did have a problem with sensor brought on by freezing weather in Tahoe. As a consequence, the engine would cut out while accelerating. It cost $75 to replace the sensor. Only problems in 14 years. Replace oil every 3,000 miles from day one. Odometer now shows 300,175 miles. Still accelerates like day one. Very fast car. Hums at 85 mph. Best car I've ever owned. My third Maxima. The other two went to 180,000+. Traded one in and totaled the other in an accident.
Best Car We've Owned
Great interstate cruising car. After 199,000 miles, I'm still getting 24 mpg in mixed driving to and from work, and 29+ mpg on trips. Handling is predictable but not sporty. When I bought four new Michelins at 165,000 miles, the ride became so smooth I decided to keep the car until at least 200,000 miles. This car is worth buying good tires.
Maxima is a classic
This car has been an absolute delight to drive. We have never had ANY mechanical problems with it. It has ample power, and the quality of the build is outstanding. With regular care, the exterior and interior are pristine with the exception of some small rock chips to the front end and windshield. We also have a '99 Passat GLX, which despite the excellent reviews, has been a lemon. The Maxima remains our favorite car, and we look forward to the next model change in 2004.
best car I've ever owned
This has been an amazing car. I've had for ten years and all I've done is change the oil & buy new OE tires. With 140k miles it's still quick and alot of fun to drive.
Maxima FOREVER
Plain Great car. I am on my Second Maxima with 150,000 Miles going strong i am Aiming for 250,000. I Am keeping this car forever it will be completely restored 20 years from now. -NOTHING WILL MAKE A DRIVER FAITHFULL TO A CAR LIKE A CAR THAT'S FAITHFULL TO IT'S DRIVER!- Maxima\MercedesBenz
enjoyment
this has been the best vehicle purchase I ever made , even though its used , it has out performed some of my friends newer cars
Great Car
Exellent Perfomance, Climate control, ergonomics, Ownership Cost
lovely
it's the best...get one! awesome acceleration and great handling in a car of it's price/class. It's not a 540i of course, but it's great for the price.
116000 miles and still going!!
Fabulous car for the money and age. I bought my car new- it's the black/green metallic with buff leather interior, moon roof, heated seats(nice) and ABS brakes & all other options which came with the car. It's been to Florida & back several times, Canada (opened her up to over 100mph on the Northway) and she cruised at 75-80 mph. You would never know how fast you're going until you look at the speedometer...I LOVE THIS CAR! Oxygen sensor after 110000 miles and brakes/tires only repairs made.NOT EVEN A TUNE UP. I changed filters and plugs..that's it! I don't want to give it up it's just a fab car ...scale 1 - 10 it's "10" !!!!
Great car -- but RUST
I have an SE 5-spd with leather. Great car! V6 w/manual is great, interior feels better than many current mid-size sedans. Awesome Bose stereo system. The issue: RUST. Car was in MA/RI its whole life, with many rust-related problems lately: cosmetic, engine issues (clamp rusted - radiator hose came off on road) to now major frame damage ($$$$). Engine and interior still great, though. If you live in Phoenix a 1995 Max would be a great, cheap way to get a fun and well-built car. But 95 is just too old here with snow/salt; mine is being sold.
1995 Nissan Maxima SE - super value!
Owned since new--10 years (2004). 140k miles. Extremely reliable car. Parts worn out so far: starter motor (easily replaced it myself) and suspension (as getting too soft--upgraded to high performance aftermarket setup). Most people don't realize the customization market for the Nissan Maxima has been growing steadily for the last 5 years. Maxima.org--phenomenal resource for Maximas, especially advice from die- hard owners. I've made extensive improvements with info I learned there. Upshot: greatest value vehicle I've ever owned. If you're on a budget and you can find one in very good condition, GET IT! (of course, after mechanical inspection)
i love my maxima SE
I have the SE with 5 speed manual, alloy wheels, spoiler, sunroof. bought it at 73k for $4800 and have put on 7k in 5 months. first off, for a '95, this car looks good. it can easily pass for a 99 and the interior design looks a lot newer than 10 years old. the 3.0 V6 is silky smooth and POWERFUL. this car has GREAT acceleration, especially with the 5 speed. if you know what youre doing you can drag race most cars you pull up next to at stoplights. very comfortable. the a/c works very well. handling is decent. gas mileage is not bad for a smaller V6. only problems were with transmission due to previous owners abuse. and even that couldnt really damage it.
fourth maxima in a row
This is my 4th Maxima in a row. I buy them at 125,000 (around $6000) and sell them with 225,000 miles (around $1500). I've never had to work on any Maxima motor or trans!!!! I had to replace an alternator once. It is the best car for the money, PERIOD !!!! I can't afford to drive anything else.
If you want reliability.....
This is the car to go for, if you need low prive and reliability. I just had the 120K miles service (as recommended by Nissan Manual) and it was all 320$. I have never had a single problem with this car - the engine is powerful , it has enough comfort for a commute car and it goes 23 mpg on the freeway - a good value given the 6 cylinders.
Maxima Heaven
My 1995 Nissan Maxima is the best car I have ever owned. I haven't had a single problem with it since I bought it new in 1995. I am almost afraid to part with it and purchase a different dealer brand or even model. What more can i say. WOW thanks Nissan for such a GREAT car!
Maximas Rock!!!
What a car!! Haven't owned my Max that long, but the ride, handling and power are awesome!!! Love the comfy leather seats and wood grain design. A very safe, dependable vehicle. Bought for only $3,300 with 139K. What a steal! I'll never get rid of this car! Very happy!!!!!!!!!!!!
A Best Buy
My '95 Maxima GXE has been a terrific buy from day 1. I almost purchased an Accord or Camry, and now am happy I spent more for the Maxima. It has been reliable and has had no out of the ordinary problems happen to it. Also, it is a stylish car that has a certain charm to it. People are impressed with the car even though it's almost 8 years old. Plus, it feels like a sports car, but handles itself like a sturdy vehicle.
My Perfect Max!!!
I recently purchased this vehicle about a month ago, and am absolutely delighted. NO disappointments. A beautiful, luxurious, smooth ride. I will keep this car until the wheels fall off! Only 139,000 miles and plenty of life left! I've owned many foreign cars and plan to stay with the Maxima. No leaks anywhere on my driveway! This car doesn't leak a thing! Maximas are built to last and I'd recommend anyone looking for a smooth-running, reliable, reasonably- priced sedan. They never die!!!!!
95 Nissan Maxima
Great car with an interesting story. Previous owner would leave car at subway, and ride subway to work (reason for low miles at 62,000). That is, until 9/11 - he never came back to get it. Anyway, I am now the owner of a beautiful GXE that is in great shape, looks sharp, and is fun to drive! The angel riding with me is a big plus...
95 Maxima Se
I've had this car for 2 years. it has 156,000 mile on it and is running strong. it's got a very roomy interior with a very nice 200watt stock Bose audio system. this car can keep up with cars with 50+ horsepower advantages weighing in at only 2895 lbs for the 5 speed version. this car keeps up with my friends 260 hp cura 3.2 Cl Type S. there's almost nothing that could persuade me to get rid of this car. I'll drive it til it dies
Best All Around Car I Have Wwned
A fast, fuel efficient car that is fun to drive. This car has been the only one I have owned that been zero maintenance except for normal wear items. Best all around car I have owned.
love it
I bought my Maxima at a repo auction for 3k below list. What a deal. The interior was super comfortable. The engine was magnificent. I could easily find myself at 90 mph with out knowing how I got there. The car looks like a classic but blends in nicely. Only problem is the number of stolen vehicles for parts.
Maximum Maxima
At 137k this car is running strong, smooth and reliably. Every component works as it should. The car also has great structural integrity. not a single squeak or rattle. This Nissan is superior to similar age Accord in every aspect including fuel mileage. I owned both. The Maxima outguns the Accord -- period. I just installed a set of 17" wheels from an '05 for style. This car is worth the investment. I haven't had to spend much -- front struts and an anti-knock sensor. I plan on another 100,000 fun, trouble free miles with this Maxima. Parts and accessories are readily available. I recommend a new or used Maxima to anyone looking for a good handling, strong running sedan.
Love it and Ain't sellin'
I got my '95 GXE in 98. It had Bose, Sunroof and power seat. The minute I set eyes on this black doll, I had to have it..... Had to replace the suspension after six mos. but that was because I took on a broken road at 100 mph, so my bad. Since then, I have had nothing but driving joy in it, mile after mile. I have 106000 miles on it and it still runs like new. The only work I've ever had to do to it was oil, tires and brakes. It STILL looks better than a 2002 Camry and Accord! Now I am getting into an Audi A-6 but I am NOT selling the 'Max!! It stays with me b/c it's too good to part with!! Way to go Nissan.
Overall, a fantastic car
The best part of my Maxima is that it's so fun to drive compared to every other four-door out there. Get the five speed version if you don't have to deal with too much traffic - you'll have tons of fun zipping around town. The other reason I bought this car is that it is extremely reliable, and from 35,000 to 85,000 it has needed no work - just routine maintenance. Too bad America can't seem to make fun, reliable vehicles affordable.
I Love my first car!!!
Got this '95 maxima with 150k miles on it for $2500!! What a steal! Mechanic says that it has strong engine and tranny. Needed brakes but that's to be expected. I love the design and how the car looks. it's my first car and it is perfect and at a good price range. no problems only routine maintenance and tlc to keep it looking sharp. This car can take 300k+ miles or more! this car is incredible
THis is why it's tough for US to compete
I bought this car brand new. Had four other American made cars before it. I travel quite a bit and have over 210, 000 miles and het to have an engine problem. Had to replace the starter at around 140K. But no real repairs. I keep the oil changed every 5-6K. Very low maintenance since the timing belt is chain driven. Wife had a Camry and it was more expensive to keep it up and didn't have as much power. Only wish it had a little more leg room because I am 6'3" but will DEFINITELY be buying another one. Keep wanting to trade it in but my mechanic says why bother. It's in perfect running condition.
Maxima 1995
Great Car. No problems. Just general maintenance. 1995 With 90,000 miles and still rides great.
Best Used Car Ever!
I bought my SE used in 98 w/56K miles on it. It now has 154K and other than a few maintenance items, the car is solid and fun to drive. I have a few aftermarket items (intake, down pipe, suspension) on it, but replacing the taillights (white & red) and adding clear bumper lenses has taken years off the appearance. People cannot believe the car is almost 10 years old. Maxima.org has maintenance and performance insight and that community has been invaluable for the weekend mechanic and do it yourselfer.
1995 Nissan Maxima SE 4DR
A simply wonderful vehicle to own. I have owned one for 9 years and 222,900 miles. I have had absolutly NO problems with this vehicle. Owning this vehicle has been a pleasure for me. If there is anyone out there looking to purchase one I strongly suggest you do because this vehicle is the total package it has Luxury, Performance and reliability. Out of the many vehicles I have had this vehicle has been my favorite it gives a quality ride as well as very fast when needed!!
1995 Maxima SE
This has been the best car I ever owned. Bought it new in '94. Now have 140,000 miles on it. Only problem has been a set of noisy chain tensioners. Car still looks and drives like new. Leather seats in interior are still flawless. The engine stills hits redline in a hurry with nary a hiccup.
Awsome car
I worked at a dealership for awhile. I used this car to get places i needed to go so i didn't have to put wear on my car. The car had 185,000 miles on it and it ran as good as my 2000 se with 80k. It handled awesomely and still had the performance i expected. I love my 00 and i loved this 95. I highly recommend a maxima to anyone. In my opinion of owning 2 a 90 and a 00 and having friends own them and working on there cars. I HIGHLY recommend the maxima. Just look up VQ30DE on Google and see all the awesome reviews you get for the motor!!!!
My Third Maxima
Great Car have always loved the maxima
Nissan Maxima GLE 1995
I bought this car used with 118000 miles on it. The first thing to go was regulator on the back window. Since, the only major repair that was done was the replacing of a starter. One pain was the cup holder position, which makes it easy to spill coffee or soda into the console resulting in the replacement of an oxygen sensor--a $26 value, but with dealer installation can add up to $170+ easily. It now has over 200000 miles and still drives like a dream.
Owned it for 19 years
Bought the GLE when it was 2 years old and had 100,000 miles on it. What a good car if you take care of it. I clay bar and wax it every 6 months. The paint is like new. I do all of the repairs myself, that makes everything a lot less money and is not that hard. I have 221,000 on it now. It did need some repairs like 2 starters, 1 alternator, 6 fuel injectors, valve cover gasket, power steering pump, Idle air Control valve, CV shafts, Bakes, Radiator and a good leather drivers seat from the junk yard. Still driving it and plan on getting another 100,000 out of it.

Reliable transportation
I've only had the car for 5 months but it has performed very well for me. The gas mileage is pretty mediocre and I did some preventative maintenance by replacing the starter even though it hadn't broken down yet. Other than that, it's been exactly what I expected it to be. No surprises - which is pretty good for a car that cost me less than $7k.
My 1995 Maxima
Great Car, well over 100,000 miles so far!
95 Maxima GLE
Very reliable, I have put approximately 120,000 miles on it and the repair cost has been reasonable if not low. Durable, saved me in an accident, great car that you can count on if you (or the previous owner) has taken car of it.
love it
I bought my Maxima at a repo auction for 3k below list. What a deal. The interior was super comfortable. The engine was magnificent. I could easily find myself at 90 mph with out knowing how I got there. The car looks like a classic but blends in nicely. Only problem is the number of stolen vehicles for parts.
Fast and Fast and did I mention its FAST
Bought with 124k at 2800.00(STEAL), totalled at 50k so I bought rebuilt, but the guy drove it 20 miles a day for 5 years with no problems. This thing is super fast. I had a 91 Lumina V6 and this thing blows it away. Starter went at 125k and it needs a new 02 sensor, tires, but other then that it goes 0-60 in 6. And cruises at 120 smooth.
Nissan Maxima is luxury at it's best!
Awesome car all around. Fun to drive, ample horsepower. Hands down a winner!
A driver's car with comfort and class.
I've owned Jaguars, Camry's, Mustang GT's, and 240's (both Z & SX), and I have trouble thinking how the Maxima could be better designed. It delivers absolutely wonderful performance for a sedan, with a nearly perfect balance of handling and ride comfort. The cabin is a joy for the driver, while still being quite pleasant for passengers on long trips. I bought my '95 GLE in late '99 with 39K on it, have 76K on it now, and expect to drive it for at least another 50K, at which point I'll look for another used Maxima.
My great Maxi
As a proud owner of my max,I have chanched my old max(92 se) for this one and my suggestions are that it is and still a really confortable car that I have got .
Great Machine
This is my second Maxima, I also owned a 1991, which I drove to its death at 250,000 miles. I also own a 2003 with 102,000 miles. This 1995 currently has 175,000. It is a fabulous machine to drive, I had some replacements problems by having to replace alternator, starter, CV axles, a couple of fuel injectors, infamous knock sensor and the coolant temp sensor apart from regular brake, tune up, oil changes. I think the tricky thing is when the one of the fuel injectors starts acting up, the car/computer thinks the knock sensor and the temp sensor is bad, which was not the case with my and actually one of the injector was going bad. Parts are expensive but a reliable car.
Rocket Ship
I have had two Maximas since 1990, the first one saved my life in an accident. It had 88K miles on it without a major repair. Its sister, nicknamed "the rocket ship" now has 174+k miles on it and I expect it to go to 250k, it still runs great. I love this car, no major repairs (just brakes, tires and the power steering belt). I don't think you could kill that engine if you wanted to.
FUN!!!
Love my Maxima! This was the first maxima I had ever driven. After the test drive, I was convinced. The 3.0 L V6 is phenomenal! So smooth, and so torquey! With the manual tranny, this car is a blast to drive. I felt the suspension is a bit soft and allowed too much body roll, so when my struts went 94k miles, I went with aftermarket struts/springs, and now it handles like a dream. Really fun car with plenty of room for the family!
