Fun to Drive!!!
I bought this car after doing tons of research for 3 months. I found a great deal and I have not been disappointed. This car is so fun to drive. The 6 spd manual is quick and sharp, and the power is endless. Mash the gas at 60 mph and watch the world turn blurry. Interior is spacious and comfortable, and the exterior styling turns heads, especially mine. I'm very happy with my purchase, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants the size of a sedan, the speed and handling of a sports car, and the technology of a BMW.
Rusty 2008 Altima
Rust is an issue on Altimas newer than 2006. I was just informed that there is a "football sized hole in my floorboard" on 9/30/16, drivers side. Passenger side was not checked. I was told this is a common issue, but thought to affect 2002-2006 models. Wrong!!! I am shocked to hear this as I fully expected to drive this car for ten years. Remember Toyota buying back Tacoma trucks because of rust issues? This was a company protecting the reputation of it's products and serving the customers who bought them. Nisssan will not recall these affected vehicles even though the problem is acknowledged to exist. Never buying another Nissan.

CVT Transmission is JUNK !
I am driving a 2008 Altima 2.5L SL model. I have to say that it is fuel efficient and comfortable to drive. The problem I am having is that I currently have 128,000km on the vehicle and am going on my 2nd replacement transmission. My first was replaced at 60,000km after I noticed a whining noice when the engine was placed under load above 3000 rpm. I just turned 128,000 km recently and noticed the same noice again, they have ordered another to be replaced. I am very disappointed in the reliability here, Nissan sent a letter saying my transmission was covered under warranty up to 200,000km and at the rate mine are dropping off that won't get me through the lease, may be my last Nissan!
Faulty Transmission
After many people complained about the faulty Transmission, Nissan increased the Warranty to 10 Years or 100,000 miles. My car's Transmission went bad at 94,000 miles and i reported it to Nissan (as i didnt know) after the transmission had been fixed by a non Nissan shop. Nissan refused to log in my complaint and give any compensation even though they had done a very poor job of informing their customers about Transmission issues with 2008 Altima. I am not buying a Nissan anymore.

Afraid to drive
I have a 2008 Nissan altima 4dr 2.5S. Ive taken by car in for many reasons including regular servicing. From the 1st month i have taken the car in for whinny noises, lack of power going up hill, engine working hard when AC is on and then some. These complaints have been with 3 dearlerships. One day while driving, I released the gas peddle to slow and press to speed up a bit and it stops. Car starts fine the problem is intermittent. problem did not show up in the diagnostic test. transmission problem was found the the day the shop was returning the car to me the first time. This time i am afraid to drive it. (what if it stops in an intersection)
