Good Car Except for the CVT

The car drive nicely and I've owned it for 9 years, 100k and done just tires and brakes. But I've had major problems with the cvt. It's been warranteed by Nissan. The transmission died on a long trip last summer. Thankfully it was still under the recall warranty. But it could have caused an accident and we left stranded 3 states away from home. A dealership in NJ fixed it and the tranny is much better now.

Pleased at 16k

Bought car 3/08 and now have over 16k. So far no trips back to the dealer. Getting 24mpg in suburban driving and averaging 30-31 highway at 70-75mph. Very happy with gas mileage with all this power. Continental tires have provided smooth quiet ride to go with extremely quiet engine, which compliments a great sound system. Have found seats very comfortable for long drives. Gauges and buttons easy to use/follow. Trunk plenty spacious and nice having fold down split rear seats. Worth having the leather seats (heated - works great) and the other additional options like heated mirrors. Worth it. Debated between the 4 & 6. Worth it to pay for the 6 for the quiet and powerful engine

Fantastic car for the money

I leased my 2008 Nissan Altima 3 years ago and it still runs like a champ! I never had any major or minor problems with it besides a minor recall that the dealer took care of for me. It is a great car with push button start, CVT Automatic transmission that shifts great, and has a great ride. I just wish Nissan's options weren't so expensive, but otherwise it's a very well made car and I would recommend it to anyone:).

Joy To Drive and Own 4Cyl Drives Like V6

I have now owned this vehicle for approximately 1 year and my experience has been fully satisfactory. I cannot think of a better sedan that offers this much power, style, great handling - all at a reasonable price! ENGINE: This vehicle handles like a V6 sedan, but uses gas like a 4CYL. It still surprises me that this 4CYL CVT engine can produce 175HP with powerful torque, and gets about 27MPG combined city highway driving - translates to about 530 miles to 20GAL tank (600MI all highway). HANDLING: When taking tight curves on the road, I have no fear to take them even faster, as the steering is responsive and accurate. >>> Extremely happy with my first purchase of any car! Highly recommended.

Leased a 2008 that will be returned in Sept, 2001. Car has 28K miles. Engine sounds like my lawnmower. Brakes sound like metal on metal. The dealer says thats normal?? Would never have another. Pushbutton start stinks, but my wife likes it. Parked the car one day turned it off, I thought. Then came out 3 hours later to find the car still running. Note: be VERY careful if you buy a car with pushbutton start and have an attched garage. People have died from carbon Monoxide poisioning because they thought the car was turned off before retiring to sleep.
