It is G-R-E-A-T!
We bought this car about two weeks ago, for a very very low price, it has everything minus the auto tranny and leather seats. It handles great at any speed and has lot of power. I don't care much for the seats, but I suppose you can't have it all. 156k later still runs great!
I LOVE MY CAR!!!!
My 93 240 has 90k. We just got back from a 2k mile trip, my car handled like a CHAMP! We were getting almost 400 mls/tank(12 Gal tank)! It was hot & we had the air going the whole time, it blew ice cold! It has its wears & tears that need replacing on any car after 90k, but we've decided to work on it as a project car. It already has a lot of get up & go power, but we plan on beefing up the engine(maybe TURBO), adding fog lights, chrome rims etc. With this car there are net based clubs that help with upgrades. It'll be fun! I would reccomend this car to anyone. It has been a great car for me & I have no plans to sell it.
my 240 sx
my 240 is black, and own this car for about 13 months now and have put 16,000miles on it and heres what i,ve done..new starter, new water pump,2 rear brake calabuers,4 new tires,4 brake rotors, wiper blades,.....motor is running smooth and quiet.this car has a 5 speed i belive this car will be around for another 100,000miles.
Wonderful Car
Absolutely wonderful car! Bought this car brand new way back in 1993..and I still own it. Has the power for a 4cyl/2.4 L eng. and reasonably good mileage. Hatchback model (w/c I have) w/rear seats both folded down makes this sporty car look like an SUV in carrying capacity. Am planning to keep it despite the fact that it has over 170,000 already in the odometer.
The 240 SX is very fun
The 240 SX is an extreamly well built machine, the potent 2.4 ka24de motor puts out alot of torque and power for a little car of its weight. It handels extreamly well and feels so good to drive, the 5 speeds are so easy to shift and the hydrolic clutch feels very nice.
pretty tight
it is fun it seems like there is a little something behind it, specially in the 60-90 range. Very very skiddish, had it 2 mths and 2 fishtails, a third minor one today testing turning radius. maybe i need to put some ballast in car. mechanics feel good, engine sounds nice.
See why the nissan guy smiles so much...
Great car overall, easy to work on if you have to. I had to rebuild my trans because i got mine used but it has been the only problem.
AFTER 11 YEARS, STILL OWN IT
I bought this car brand new, and never regretted it. Only time it gave up on me was when the starter gave out at 190,500 miles. Over the years, this hatchback gave me outstanding reliability. It was a fun-to-drive rear- wheeled drive, with minimized roll on tight speed-turns, good acceleration (160 ft/lbs of torque at around 4000 rpm), very good fuel consumption, and an outstanding drive-train, not to mention the sporty good looks. I love this car!
Fun car
I have had it for almost a year know. Have not had any trouble with it except for the wear and tear but that is expected out of any car.
Awesome Nissan
My 240 has 145,000 miles on it and it still runs VERY strong...it needs a new clutch and the heater isn't as hot as i'd like it but it is still a very good car for the money!
Performs great for a money pit
I bought my 93 240 at 110K miles. Ever since it has given me horrible electric problems. Alternator goes out, both window motors fail, brake switch failed (3 times), speaker wires failed. If you read anything about this car you'll notice it has huge elctrical problems. The engine always ran strong though, and I never had to repair any part of the drivetrain at all. This car is SO much fun to drive, but not worth the expense. I'm buying an Acura Legend LS instead of another 240.
Nissan 240 SX SE HB
I bought my 240 with 55K last year. Today it has 80K. I am a delivery boy at a chinese restaurant so i am ALWAYS in my car. Its reliability is absoultely amazing. I nevr have a problem. I do push the car to its limits and i always satified. It get to top speed quickly and the handling is outstanding. Ive gotten the car to about 125 mph and it stayed rock solid. It is also a great platform for customization. I recommend this car as a tuning car over any other car beacause its cheap and is load of power from the start. Civics are all and good but they suck performance wise as stock models. 240 RULES!
Great Car
I bought the car with 194,000 miles. Now it has 230,000 plus, and still runs strong. Very fun car. Unique in that it is a compact import that is rear wheel drive! And you don't see them everywhere...they are a rare compared to other imports.
Nissan 240sx
I have loved this car. Changed the oil, changed the tires and battery. Had reccommended service. New brakes at 135000 miles. Only mechanical problem didn't happen until 160000+ miles. Had to replace the radiator etc, Still having that problem. Dealership coated the exterior on a regular basis for 2 years and finish still looks good.
Reliable Beauty
Bought it with 28k miles and now has 183k. Has ran great. With manual trans. it is fun driving both in city and highway. Conducted only standard maintainance and with only minor repairs. Only thing showing wear at this point is interior but nothing out of the ordinary. There is still very little interior rattling. Engine sounds as though it can go at least another 100k miles and transmission is still smooth. Plenty of low-end torque and acceleration. It has been a fun car.
Poor Man's Sports Car
I have liked the looks of the 240SX since it came out. I like good looks and simple lines. This car fit the bill for me. it has a really responsive four-cylinder engine with fantastic stability, tight steering, and enough road feel to feel like a sports car.
My 240 - reviving it just now
An excellent car that I never have to worry about. It has been really reliable and I just love it. I am starting to put work into it now to restore it a bit rather than go out and buy a new car.
Best car ever owned
First car that i have owned that has not failed to start in cold weather. Most reliabille car for a daily driver. Fun car to drive during snow, rain, dry, hot or cold. Have not had a single problem with the car.
Affordable RWD Fun
The 240SX is so much fun to drive. The best part of the car is that it is RWD. It's also an affordable, reliable, agile, fun car. It handles better than I can. It gets pretty good gas mileage, especially considering how fast it goes. The way the fastback is situated with the backseat gives great cargo room. I play the tuba, and I can fit 3 tubas and 2 people in the car all at once. There's lots of room under the hood, so you can do whatever you want to the car and it's easy to work on.
GREAT CAR
no problems besides the regular cluth and brakes. handles like more expensive sports cars.
Dependable
My Nissan 240SX is the most dependable car I ever had. It handle cornering better than the top rated sports cars.
