Best used Car ever
Mine is stick and punches when I use the gas pedal, fun to drive excellent car for work, handling is very good and easy to maneuver. If you want more power look for the se-r model big power for a little car. Very fun to drive .
Long Life to Come
I bought my Nissan 200sx in March and it is the best. I have had no major problems with it at all. I need a new muffler thanks to my driveway and a bottle of refrigerant for the A/C. I absolutely love this car. It was my first car and i plan to run her til it dies on me completely. Currently, the odometer is displaying 255,000!!! Change the oil and you'll be fine.
200 SX/SE
Great Car! I love the how it has a sport look and feel with great gas mileage.
Very Good Car
This is a very reliable and durable car. I bought mine in March 1995 and now the car has 119K on it. No major problems. Only major maintenance is that I've replaced the exhaust system (except cat. conv.), timing belt and got it tuned up around 100,000. I don't really have any negatives to say about this car. I hope to get another 100K out of it. For a low end car, it is a lot of fun to drive.
Loved My Nissan
I purchased this 200SX new from dealership in CA. Moved home to NC and drove all the way. In 8 years I put 200K on this car. Other than normal maintenance, the alternator was the only thing I ever replaced. I gave this car to my sister 2 years ago and she's still driving. I'm convinced if it has lasted her 2 years, I could have driven it 10 more. She only knows how to pump gas and drive. I regret the day I parted with this car. I'm searching for another today. I am a Nissan fan, with 3 others in my drive.
Well built car.
I bought my 200SX-SE for a total of $3200 after all the repairs/maintenance I needed to do (new tires, battery...) Overall very happy with my purchase, especially in this age where gas costs over $3/gallon. Zippy at above 4000rpm, not so stellar if you're below that sweet spot. Love the sunroof although it rattles and squeaks when driven over bumpy roads. Has AC problems (won't blow at any speed but 4, common with 1995 models) but easily repaired by yourself, just locate the resistor under the glove compartment and replace it with a new one. Car feels cheap, well, it is cheap :D but I don't really mind that.
Great little car
I am driving a 200SX SE with 150K and drives just fine. It's a great car, the mileage is pretty good topping above 40mpg in hghways and a reliable little one. Engine is little sluggish when aircon is one , but its a dependable car.
First Nissan Good Car
I think this car is great to have, I bought like a week ago for 1300, w/ 111000 miles on it. It runs great, good on gas, and reliable. I gotta go against everyone on this though I love where the cupholders beats the civics, after all I have had Hondas. I like the performance for a 1.6 and the interior such as the seats very comfortable. I have back problems and the seats are better than integra seats. I am mad though because I keep getting check engine due to (EGR) Electronic Gas Recirculation reading on ecu.
PURPLE
It's a good, dependable. I like the body its still made out of metal, that makes stronger than fiberglass.
My SE-R
I have only had this car for a few months and it had it faults a first but that was due to the privious owner, who did not replace the distributor with a Nissan one. This caused some electrical problems that left me stranded but that is fixed now, I hope. I always liked these cars and when I found this one for $2900.00 I bought it. It reminds me of an RX-3 I had but better equipted. It is a ball to drive in town and on the road and gets good gas mileage.
Great on gas, Fun to drive, No repairs
This is our second Nissan Car. We bought it used from the original owner when it had 135000 miles. It was just getting broke in. We haven't had to do any repairs. Just normal maintanance, brakes, struts, tires, etc. Gets 38 on the highway at 70 mph. and no less than 33 in the city. Just change the oil and it will keep on running.
Gas Mileage and great looks, what else?
I got my 200 sx about a month ago and only had one problem on it since--the alternator went out, but it was under waranty. Since then, I have had nothing but raves about the car. The mileage is awesome for my drives home from college and the moonroof is a must. I since have put in about $1200 dolllars in sound. The only thing I have complaints about is how slow it is when the ac is on. Will it ever get up to 60? Maybe pop a 2.2 or something in there. It's a good thing my car sounds good, bc it won't win any races.....
200sx
Good value, fast motor, poor handling, ugly body, too high off ground, very cheap interior. Brings new meaning to economy.
No better car for the price
I have had one for 3 years and there is no better car i could have bought.
Extremely Reliable
Great, reliable car. Only regular maintenance has been done. Bought it with around 5k miles in 1996 and it now has 84k. Altenator went bad after 5 years, but that is all. Have always changed oil every 3k miles. I expect this baby to give me another 100k miles.
Hangin' in there!
Paid $4k for my '95 200SX SE, w/130kmi on it...was freaking out the night I drove it home over pot-holey roads due to the squeaking and clunking...but as days went by and I got my CD player in there and my mechanic assured me it was fine, I slowly got used to it. It now has 150kmi on it, and I've replaced the clutch, the front struts/shocks, and am now looking at replacing the left front axle and the rear struts, etc. However, if I can't find something I like the feel of better (I'm really surprised 'cause it shifts poorly and the seat's totally uncomfortable), I'll just keep putting $ into it until it dies!
First Car
I bought this car in August 2012 with 96,000km's, and I had it until September 2014 at 123,000km's when it was stolen and totalled. This is one of the best first cars ever. Not enough power to kill anyone but I was able to get my first speeding ticket in this beauty. She handles with ease, transports my friends no problems at all, and can transport all my camping gear. I wish she never got stolen but time to move on sadly enough.
Excellent car!
Bought the car for $1500 from a private party. Had 213K on the odometer. Very little problems. Less than $400 put into car and nothing is wrong with it at all now. I like the response from the car for being only 1.6 liters at 105hp. Seats big people and is a big plus. Minimal driving noise. Nicely made. Very fun to drive!! Car is very well built. Solid all around. Suspenions is nice and ride is smooth. Very peppy engine. Gas mileage is excellent. 31-35 every tank driven in a suburban area.
i gotta stick up for my car
when i test drove my se-r for the first time i knew it had potential. i would never had bought this car if it wasnt a manual, since the automatic fails to bring out the performace of the midsized fourbanger which from the cabin sounds like an american 5.0L V8. thanks to the rear suspension this car has great emergency handling, even at speeds over 40mph! ive gotten about 30 mpg since i put in the cold air intake, but that drops to like 22mpg if i race it a lot. no way will i ever sell this car! if you want a small, swift, fun to drive-and-swerve car, go for a manual 200sx se-r.
why'd they stop making these cars?
i bought my 200sx-se in june of this year and, so far, it is a very reliable car. i got a good deal, 2,550 for 57,000 miles at the time. since then, i have driven to 64000 and i haven't really had a problem. they only mechanical defect is something with the air system. it blows a/c and heat but only on speed 4 and i can't run the a/c because the car will shut off. (by the way, if any one know why, let me know!)
AWESOME CAR
this car is perfect as a first car and is very affordable
This is a very good car.
We are selling our 200sx/se after 10 years of flawless reliable service. Alternator replacement is the only major mechanical issue in 10 years. Maintained as recommended. The car is anemic with the A/C on when entering the freeway, though in the winter the heater is warm as toast after 2 minutes. We had the 5 speed-in my opinion the only way to go (fun factor). The mileage is phenomenal-I pulled 32 city consistently, 40 plus on the highway (are you listening Detroit??). After 10 years, it was time to move on but I'm sure there's another 100 thousand miles left. I would recommend this car as a used car anytime to anyone.
My great first car
This was my first car ever and I was nervous. Never thought I would be buying a "sporty" car. This is the greatest car though. No major repairs, fuel efficient, enough space for a Xmas tree. I hope it will last another 10 years. I am thinking about finding some used just in case I need the parts. Nissan indeed should bring this car back. Why not? I never want anything else!
good
I have had pretty good experience with this vehicle... besides the broken axle... but that was my fault for trying to drift in a front wheel drive car in the rain. I have no probs.... never had a prob, and I dont think that any problems will occur with this vehicle
Indestructible!!
I bought it brand new. First new car I owned and I can say after almost 11 years stills run fantastic! Still original clutch, just replaced CV joint axles after 161,000 miles. Only gripe is the windshield wiper motor went out after about 145,000 miles. Cost $80 though so not too bad. Should run 300k miles no problem!
Stranded
I've had my Nissan for 12 years and it's a great car except for the fact that I have had it in the dealership twice because of some type of short in the system that causes it to shut off driving down the road usually at below freezing temps. I've replaced the alternator and I have to replace the battery every year and the dealership still cannot figure out what the problem is. I would buy another Nissan if someone could figure why I keep having this problem. Very dependable in summer time!
Reliable Longterm Performer!
Outstanding daily driver requiring little more than regular maintenance.
Had this car for 18 years
I bought a 2nd hand 200SX SE-R with 15000 miles on the clock and drove it for 18 years - one of the most affordable and satisfying cars. It has been extremely reliable and low cost to maintain. They call it a poor man's BMW - it handles the road very well. It heats up and cools down very quickly with good extremes of temperature. Sadly I couldn't get a new Nissan Sentra with a sunshine (moon) roof as they don't offer a manual shift version. So I bought a Mazda 3 when I sold this car for $10 - but the buyer gave me $20!
