Don't buy a mini, we are very disappointed on the quality of our car, my wife got a 2019 Countryman lease with option to buy, we pay about $650.00 monthly for it, she drives to and from work so it's about 2 years 8 months since we got it and has 62,000 miles , right about 60000 miles the sunroof cable that closes and opens the sunroof broke and since it had 60k miles when we took it it was out of warranty! And was $850.00 to repair it, took it to service and was told it needed new motor mounts 2 of them $1,500.00 plus we already replace 4 tires and we need to replace them again, replace all brakes and 2 roots I don't even remenber how much it was and now I've had to jump star it like 5 times In last 2 days, you can't get the battery anywhere because it's a new mini, call dealer so the closest appointment it's 7 days from now. Worst car Company I've ever dealt with, even with what I knew before I never though it will be this bad, really hopes this help somebody not make the mistakes we did.

Fun to drive, but technology is lacking

This is a fun car to drive and has some cool little features like the interior lights, the moon roof, and keyless entry. It doesn't have very good technology for how expensive the car is. We were told the car syncs up with a key to keep the settings of the driver, that doesn't work. Google maps is not an option for apps on the system. The mini connected app doesn't function as intended. Can't wait to turn this car back in.

Great car

We bought this in May of 2019 as my wife got a new job that required a lot of driving and we knew her Jeep was not up to the task. As of today it has 82,000 miles. The only time it has been to the dealer was for regular scheduled maintenance and two instances where the Check Engine Light came on. Both times were software issues. The second time took two weeks for them to sort it out. There was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The software was misreading the data and triggered the light. This car is fast. Way faster than you need it to be. It has been a great road car for us as we zip out for weekend getaways. Plenty of room for a two week trip. When driven conservatively, my wife will easily get 38 to 42mpg. It cost her $19 a week before gas prices rose. Now it is about $30 a week. There are trade offs. The battery storage does not leave room for a spare tire. You will have a difficult time finding a shop that will plug a run flat tire. Our extended maintenance plan has a $50 deductible for tire replacement so that helps. An eight gallon gas tank means you must pay attention to your gas stops on a road trip. I would highly encourage installing a fast charger in your garage. The regular charger will take 8-9 hours. As more chargers are installed in our area, we will benefit. Right now we run all our Saturday morning errands in electric mode. Overall it is a fantastic vehicle. Yes the price was a premium, but it offers premium quality in return. I will not talk about the technology because that is so subjective. What others cannot do without, I will not miss. We can do hands free calls, text and navigation so I am content.

Great around town transportation. If you install the home 220/50 AMP CHARGER it’s easy to get to 65+ MPG. Using the Green mode is fun because the just rolls! We are now 1 year into our ownership of the MINI Countryman PHEV and it continues to be a great performer in both low cost of ownership and pleasure to drive around town and short trips. With over 1 year driving both around town and multiple trips of 70 to 300 miles, including lots of freeway miles, we are averaging 64 MPG. In todays world that's pretty great!! If we have one complaint it's the multiple billing processes for chargers on the road.
