99 Sable Transmission
I've had the vehicle in the shop 3 times in the past 2 years for transmission problems. Not sure if this is typical of a Sable or Carmax issues. Also, the gas gauge has never worked correctly.
99 sable great car
We replaced our 1996 Sable with a 99 w touring package Nothing has needed to be fixed. I'm picky and this car has been flawless. 200hp eng fun to drive, great in the snow.
great car
great car
poor mechanical reliability but some fun
Replaced/ returned front braker rotors three times in first 75000 miles. Replaced front steering rack and power steering pump at 65000 miles. Car gets poor fuel economy intown 12 - 18 MPG & hwy 28 MPG. Will hang on to this car untill a catastropic failure occurs.
Good car and fun to drive
Purchased the car used with 50K, now has 85K. Has 24 valve DOHC engine which is preferable and peppy. Gets low-mid 20 mph in commuter driving and mid-high 20 mph on road trips. Best mph has been 29 and worst 20. Good drive train and suspension, rides well on all road surfaces/at all speeds. Has a tight body but some moderate road noise. The only issue I've had is with the rebuilt front disc brakes which is more of a parts supplier/mechanic issue than car issue. Great handling and fun to drive car. Bought it for commuting but found it was a good over the road car too.
