Unrealized potential
Noisy engine. Vibrates at 70 mph. Brakes perform below norm. Replace twice w/in 60,000 miles. Irregular acceleration w/entry on expressway. Mechanic reports cracks in chassis that need repair. Knocking on extreme turns of the steering wheel. Interior molding below winshield curled up and getting worse. Same thing w/rubber door trim. Interior lighting shorts in dash, overhead and gear shift.
Quality is job NONE
I should have read Consumer reports before purchasing this car, they summed it up "Avoid this Car". So far the Dome light has dropped on my head, the A/C duct was thrown at me, and the Insulation wont stay put under the dash. Neither will the transmission fluid, it has sprung multiple leaks and the dealership says this is normal. There are over a dozen recalls on this thing in the last two years. My Mitsubishi only had two in seven years. Also, The owner manual doesn't match what is in the car completly.
Wolf in Sheep's Clothing
'99 LS...wish it had a 5-spd. Handles well after you lose the factory tires. Good road feel & a nice fwy cruiser. The A/T hesitates when going to a lower gear when you romp on the gas like turbo-lag. Trunk has an odd opening & a weird angle making using the space difficult. Rear seat is for small adults & kids only. The leather seats are comfortable & hold you well even in the twisties. The rakish exterior is similar to the Lincoln LS. I should have gotten ABS & the sunroof. Even with the hard driving I get a respectable 20.5 MPG remember this is a A/T V6 driven hard. I recommend this car to someone who has the need for 4 doors & likes to have fun.
Great Car
I love this car, it is sporty enough to be fun, but practicle enough to make a good daily driver, it also looks more expensive than it was.
Disappointed
I bought this vehicle new.....took it for all the regular check-ups, oil change every 3,000 miles etc. At 80,000+ miles the engine blew. Yes, I had to replace the engine. Very disappointing because I took such good care of this car.
