Nice balance of comfort and performance

Couldn't decide between a sedan or SUV. This is a great compromise. With 360 horsepower it really moves when you need to. Happy with the interior quality and the technology.

Best car ever!

I loved this car so much I did something I swore I would never do. I bought another identical one, and it took a lot of doing, as they only brought about 2,000 per year to the US, and 500 were the luxury model (with a better suspension than the Sport), and I think 10% were blue. It looks great outside, but it's the inside that is special. With burl and all the trim is actual metal it feels more like a Bentley. Meanwhile with AWD, most of 400hp it really moves, and with Michelin Sport runflats (I can't feel a difference to our other '14 wagon with the same tire that is not a runflat) it sticks to the road. This car does everything better than any other car I've owned (other Volvo and MB wagons) and it actual does it better than I thought possible. Is it perfect? No. But the problems are tiny... filler flap stuck closed (warranty), GPS fights me a bit, and the doors won't hold open on an upslope (how bizarre is that??) and I mean the slope in my flat driveway. I'm 50 something and recently did two 8 hours days back to back with no issues to me or the car. Not even sore. I push them hard and they are stable and predictable. I've hauled 6 people, 4 people and more baggage than I could believe, 2 people and 8 - 100+ pound BMDogs , it does it all. If I had kids I would want a key that gives them half the HP, but that is the only change I can think of. Even the stereo is awesome, I hear those things you read about... the fire engine at 2:12 in track 6 of a Beatles song, etc. Things I could NEVER hear on my pretty nice home stereo. I admit I love wagons, and I have a pickup for when my life needs that. But I always CHOSE the wagon if I can. Oh, and our 2014 E350 wagon (did I mention I love wagons?) has 175,000 miles on it and the only repair was a wheel bearing, which I think was me doing crazy full throttle U-turns when I got it. Because there was no drama, just crazy traction and acceleration. I have no idea why they switched away from the Luxury model (do you really want an E class that rides worse?) or why the new ones don't have the sparkle tail lamps, or beige carpeting with beige seats, or.... so for me 2019 and it's manual gauges, sparkle tail lamps, beige carpet, 3rd row seat, and all the rest was perfect. Wait! The sunglass holder doesn't hold my wrap around sunglasses. (But the armrest and doors do)... how great is a car when you are resorting to taking about that to come up with a flaw?

I chose the e450 Wagon over an SUV because I have as much interior space as an SUV but a far more comfortable ride.
