Used 2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan Consumer Reviews
Classic
I purchased my E320 at 81,000 miles and i love it to death. Ive had some minor problems such as a bad MAF which i replaced by myslef, also a bad o2 sensor. Ive saved thousands doing these mechanical jobs myself instead of taking it to the dealership. As for the car, it drives beautifully and feels like its brand new. ive had it up till now which has 98k on it and its been good to me.
What a Mistake!!!!!
After being with Lexus for 7 years, I wanted to try something different. I purchased a well-serviced E430 Sport, with 48K miles. Other than the minor issues, the ABS went out at 52K (common problem). At 58K, I thought I needed of a new transmission, but it turned out that I had to replace the transmission mounts, driveshaft joint, and a transmission sensor. For the 60K mile service, the car needed engine mounts and a power steering rack on top of the routine service. The result: No warranty = $4200 out of pocket. Right now, at 70K miles, the car is in for a rear main seal and A/C compressor replacement.

Bank vault solid!
This wagon runs very smoothly, has bank vault built quality, and gives me the comfort and satisfactory ownership experience that is second to none. The space is humongous, yet the exterior remains a classic beauty. 4MATIC runs great in wet, and the team work between a powerful V-6 and a 5- speed automatic transmission is seamless. Safety features best in the business. This bank vault quality german machinery piece of art is worth every hard earned penny of mine when bought used.
Sad state of MB
I bought E430 new and it was running well for about two years. Starting in 3rd years, it was having all sorts of problems. CD changer won't work, fuel gauge went out, AC is leaking, transmission is leaking, seat adjuster won't work, plus many more. This will be my last MB and probably my last German made car.
Best-made car I've ever owned
I bought my E430 Sport used after owning several VWs, since I have all but given up on American cars from the likes of GM, Ford, and Dodge. I really liked the German-made VWs, so I felt comfortable buying another German car, and Mercedes is a very prestigious brand. Let me just say that I have not been disappointed at all! My E430 purrs like a mountain lion, and is rock solid at speed. The car really comes alive at speeds above 90 mph. I love getting on an open stretch of road and opening it up around 80-85 mph. The rush from there on up to the top speed is exhilirating! Fuel mileage has also been a pleasant surprise. Fuel economy has averaged around 25 mpg with 50/50 highway-city driving.
