WOW!
Love the 2019 CX9 Signature Edition! The interior is fantastic. I drove the new Acura MDX and absolutely could not see paying the difference. It handles like a sports car but also has a heavy and safe feel to it. This is my third Mazda in seven years.

Fell in love at first sight!
The test drive proved this care to be a #1 choice for an SUV of its class. The exterior and interior styling is stunning. My only observation was the narrow leg space in the front cabin, I have problems with disabilities (my right leg and hip) any long distance drive would be very uncomfortable for me.

2019 Mazda CX-9 Signature
I bought my 2019 CX-9 over the available 2020 because I didn’t want the rear captains seats but I wanted the upper trim level. The 4 cylinder turbo engine is surprisingly more then enough power for everything I do. All of the tec is great but I give the navigation less then ideal. I’m always overriding it and it’s very limited when driving. What’s with that? The intuitive cruise control is awesome. The breaking is 10 stars! Fuel mileage is mediocre and sometimes with my right foot prevailing over my brain it can be less then mediocre. I drove all of the competition before buying the Mazda and this one was the best IMO, except I did not drive the Hyundai. If you don’t need the 3rd row which I don’t, look at the CX-5. Better mileage. 10” shorter but identical in every way. I would go with the CX-5 next time. Overpriced Euro competition is pathetic....Toyota and Honda’s...both mediocre too.

Almost But Not Quite
The 2019 CX 9 Signature is two stars shy of being a bonafide luxury car. The exterior rear view mirrors are not programable. Unlike older model CX 9s, or any luxury car I can think of past or present, programing the driver seat does not also program the mirror position. However, the HUD is programed with the seat. It is an unfathomable omission. All weather floor mats are included for all three rows but not the cargo area?? A luxury car is what it is in the details. The Signature edition has a lovely interior overall. Contrasting colors in the seats, dash and front doors add flair. There is also matching contrast stitching on the leather wrapped steering wheel and doors. But.... The contrast stitching on the leather that wraps around the shift lever is white. Picky? Maybe. But all of this adds up: Someone at Mazda wasn’t paying attention to the details. But the biggest complaint I have is with the Mobile Start app. It sucks. No other way to say it. It has extremely limited functionality. Most annoying though is that you have to both login and enter the PIN to operate it. No facial recognition? This is especially unforgivable because you pay extra to have it installed and on top of that there is a $65 annual subscription fee. These are some glaring omissions that other reviewers don’t seem to be bothered by. But if you’re able to drop $47,000 for a luxury car, you should know the downside as well as the upside. I concur with nearly all of the positive reviews I’ve read. I love the car overall. But every time I drive it, it’s as if the car says, “Yes, you bought a luxury car. But, it’s a Mazda.”
