The "ONE"

Aside from the recall the experience has been nothing short of amazing! We were given a minivan to use during the recall and it only strengthened my argument against buying one. That's right, I don't classify the 5 as a minivan because of the way it handles. Built on the 3's platform, Mazda succeeded in keeping the "soul of a sports car" intact. I was driving on a two lane highway and a car who was waiting to pull out onto the opposite lane begins to pull out into the opposing lane and stalls out half-way between my lane and the shoulder. I swerved to the left and there was an on-coming truck and before I knew it I was safely back in my lane. The 5 saved our lives.

So far, this car, minus one particular issue I'll get to later, has been just about perfect. I feel proud driving one of these down the streets of San Francisco. This is especially so when i drive by the two other cars I was within moments of purchasing instead of the 5 - the Subaru WRX or Forester. I'm 33, I have a 3 1/2 year old son and I'm recently separated. I agonized over the decision. Do i get the WRX, i.e. single-guy, race-car on a budget. Or the Forester, i.e. time to grow up, go conservative and be "responsible". My answer, why not some "responsible" zoom-zoom, i.e., Mazda5. I've read lots of complaints about the power, but the stick I got makes for some pretty exciting driving!

Have had the M5 Sport (stick) for 2 months: no big complaints. Very versatile interior configuration. Great car for small family and a small car (we have both).

I am very pleased with the way this car handles. Very sporty. I have an automatic with the 6 cd package. I just went on a 4 hour road trip on a very windy day and it handled exceptionally well. I am very impressed with the amount of interior space. My daughter has 3 year old triplets and an eight year old ... she loves the safety features and borrows it often. She and her husband plan on buying one this summer.

This car suits us nicely. Excellent handling & braking, fun to drive, Sleek design inside out. One of my friends thought this was a hybrid car. Very flexible seating configurations and tons of standard equipments which are found on much more expensive cars.
