I put a tremendous amount of mileage on this vehicle and it has performed beautifully - never had to open the engine up - just normal replacement. currently the odometer reads 330,984 miles. Believe it or not!

Smooth and quiet ride and the air suspension was amazing.Soft & lofty in the streets; firm and sporty on the highway.I was driving over 100mph and it did not feel like it.I own a 97 Deville concours now and I wish I had kept the town car. The age old debate of caddy vs. lincoln -I go with lincoln, which explains their slightly higher resale value. They put too much techno-wizzardry in the caddy without enough road testing causing too many expensive repairs. Lincoln is a more reliable car which is why so many transportation companies choose them.

Lincoln / Signature Series

The vehicle drives great, it's pick up and ability to handle the road is great! Maintenance to Lincoln Town Car is a major part of owning a luxury vehicle. The weather in New England can be absolutely brutal, not only to a vehicle, but to the roads also. These luxury vehicles aren't made for sleet and snow and especially pot holes. So one should remember to first be aware of what your vehicle (Lincoln) will be contending with when it comes to bad New England weather. You must remember, this is a luxury vehicle, not a truck. If you abuse it, it will cost you. One other thing, don't buy a used Lincoln from up North, go down South, warm climate dictates an over all better treatment of the car.

1999 Lincoln Town Car Signature Touring

Always liked the styling on the new generation (1998-2002)Lincoln Town Cars. Especially the harder to find Signature Touring Edition which has an increase in horsepower, dual exhausts, firmer suspension, chrome wheels, monochromatic exterior, etc. So when one came along for $4,000, I had to buy it. Gas prices are coming down a bit and they get respectable gas mileage for a large car. I don't think this will be my last Town Car either!

I have owned this 1999 Town Car Since June 1999 and only repair and replacement has been a blower fan, fuel pump, break pads, and rotors. Regular maintainance has been carefully performed. The passenger comfort is beyond outstanding. Since last update needed to replace fuel pump. Since last update replace spark plugs and manifold gaskets and driver side power window motor. Still is a mighty comfortable riding automobile. Still own this beauty. No issues since last review update. No issues since last review update No issues since last update

I'm 18 and its my first car, my dad gave it to me, it was his, privately owned not used as a taxi. I just hit about 87,500 and the car runs perfectly had some bumps with it gas pump broke on me a while ago but other than that i don't have any major issues with it. Its old and needs some upgrades here and there but other than that its pretty good. But the one thing i dont like about it is that its so big! The drive itself is awesome, really smooth, you don't feel the road when driving and the steering is great, its like cutting through room temp butter with a hot knife.

I purchased a 1999 Lincoln Town car in Feb. 2010 with the car only having 75ooo miles on it. The interior and exterior was in mint condition. Well........it is now Feb 2011 almost a year-to-date, and I have probably spent close to 2,000 dollars on this thing!!! I don't think I have ever hated a car as much as I hate this one! I HAD to change air suspension over to shocks, or it wouldnt pass inspection-500dollars. Countless coil packs, alternator, a/c compressor with clutch, NOW this past weekend smoke was pouring through the vents! I was like"what the crap is going on NOW?!" I have a broke heater core. It's a 60dollar part for a 700dollar job! Getting another car! Dont waste your money!!!!!!

If were any smoother, quite, you would need a wake up call. The loudest thing in the car is the thumb switches on the steering wheel. Long trips require waking up at least every hour. 30-100 mph do differance, real smooth. One window need ajustment.

I have had a 75,77,89,95 and just bought a used 99 town car. The car had 170000 when i bought it. I changed the ball joints & tie rod ends, belt, oil, trans filter. Removed the air susp. bags and replaced with new coils for a crown vic. Awesome car and good to go! You buy a used Lincoln-replace the ball joints and tie rods. Don't wait for them to fail. This is the best lincoln yet and I will buy another! I love it! Just remember- you will find alot more good reviews about the 99 town car than bad reviews!

Car runs very quite. Had problem with the auto windows but they were still under warranty. Took extended care. Guess that the only way to go but you still have to pay $100. service each time you go in. Heated seats are well worth the extra in the winter.Does not heat up interior or windows very fast.Easy to handle on highway and city.

I bought this used Cartier used with 35K miles on it. I have owned it for 4 months and already have put 10K miles on it. I have had no problems and it is a great car for my 40 mile commute. I average about 21-22 mpg. This is my first Town Car and I already know I will be looking to buy another used 2004 in 2-3 years. I have had intermittant problems with the rear drivers side window sometimes not going down.

This is my first experience with the "new generation" and it's great! My last one was a '90 Town Car with the famous "float" and the feel of the new one is much better. I bought this one with 60K on it and it's like new, still smells good:) The acceleration, handling and braking are a pleasant surprise, heads and shoulders above the old gen. There is not one thing wrong with the car, I'm so glad Lincolns have rotten resale or I'd be driving a Sable or something...:)

This car is great. I bought it with 75000 miles and it has been perfect since the day I bought it. Great mileage for a big car. Rides so good I can't wait to get in it every day and go to work. I will surely by another one when I am done with this one.

Best car I've ever had, get 30mpg on highway if I keep speed about 65-68. Its quick manuevering has gotten me out of several bad spots, which surprised me due to its size. And I've always felt safe in it. Am starting to have a few problems now, but nothing big, and that's due to age. Would have liked sturdier bumpers. And the airflow in the front windows is somewhat odd. But I plan to drive it until it falls apart on the road and then I'll walk away from it. Breaks my heart I'll never be able to afford another one! Wish I'd gotten two when I had the money, and put one up!

Being 19 I have a weirder taste than others my age but I love the nice large luxury sedans. Before this car I had a 1990 Dodge Dynasty which I loved but the air stopped working, the suspension was in need of some attention and the transmission went, it would cost more to fix than I paid for it so I needed to move on reluctantly. I love the look of this one over the rest being a gold (like my dynasty) and the soft top and that reflective band across the bottom sides. The inside is great has room for friends, is really quite inside and out, is smooth, and has some power when you need it. There seems to be no problems so far except for the soft top is kinda deteriorating due to neglect.

This is the first TC I have owned and like it pretty well. I travel some and enjoy the ride over the road (has the Touring Pkg). I also like the roominess both in the cabin and in the trunk although the low trunk floor can give problems getting the luggage out. Stereo is ok but could be improved. Integrated phone is not great either, especially the "hands free" functions.

I purchased the car new and drive about 8000 miles per year. The car now has 34000 miles and has given no problems at all. Mileage on the road is excellent and power is more than adequate. Just made an 1900 mile trip with 4 people in total comfort with a average gas mileage of 25 mpg. That is 100 passenger mpg. (at 75 mph)

IT LOOK GOOD AT THE DEALER SHIP BUT BY THE TIME I GOT IT HOME I COULD'NT STAND IT. IT IS WAY TO SMALL IN THE FRONT SEATING AREAS, WORST STEREO OF ANY CAR I HAVE EVER HAD. REAL CHEAP MATERIALS, CLEAR COAT SEEMS TO HAVE RUBBED OFF. JUST A VERY SORRY CAR I'V HAD 2 TOWN CARS IN THE PAST 1985, 1992 THEY WERE A LOT BETTER THAN THIS ONE. I CAN'T WAIT TILL MY LEASE IS UP. This car has the best ride and hood view I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. It is very quiet when inside or out, you can barely hear the engine unless you step on it! My 11- year old daughter's first words after riding in it were, "It feels so smooth, like we're floating". All the toys and power stuff still work. I have recently replaced two front tie rods and one ball joint. Not sure what the cause was, but that has been only problem. The steering is now smooth, responsive and quiet. Fuel economy is 20.5 mpg city/highway mix. I was 31 when I bought it, which is probably too young to own one. But the ride!

Well sense the transmission only seems to last about 3 years and 40,000 miles and takes a good week and a half to have rebuilt at the dealership because thankfully the car is still under factory warranty! The leather wrapped steering wheel, yeah don't get used to it! Ok, luxury cars should have full sized spare tires not DOUGHNUT's. BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, and Volvo may cost a little bit more but you pay for what you get! DO NOT BUY A TOWN CAR!

The first week i had this car, i was going 80 down the highway, and one of the front wheels buckled up and the car went to a screeching halt. The dealers had the car for 4 weeks trying to figure out what it was...as soon as that was fixed, the other one went out. This car is bad ride, bad buy, uncomfortable, and the list could go on forever. By the way, i was backed into one day and a tail light costs 400 dollars!
