This is an SUV that drives like a car. It's well balanced. Easy to drive. Smooth on the road. Little road noise. Nice top end speed. Great cargo room. Carries my family of five quite comfortably. Great sight lines. The only problem I've had is the dash cracking due to the heat and the cold. Didn't expect this from a Lexus; however, Lexus replaced the dash for free ($2,600 normal cost). They gave me a brand new RX350 as a loaner while mine was being serviced. That was a nice perk. I purchased mine used with 116,000 miles on it. (Got it $3,000 below NADA.) It now has 154,000 miles on it. No problems mechanically. I've read about the cost of maintenance. I never use the dealer (except for the dash), so my cost has be a fraction of normal maintenance. I have an amazing mechanic. He's a genius and very fair in pricing. UPDATE: My 330 now has 186,000 miles on it. I'm still mostly repair free with the vehicle. The car is starting to burn some oil - not much - but some. I also have a leak somewhere and anti-freeze is leaking out. This is not a problem so far as it is a very slow leak and I just top it off every 3,000 miles or so. Still a great purchase!

This RX is my wife's but I drive it on trips or when we are both in the car. Purchased ours in Nov 2008 with 35K miles. Had the condensation in right headlight when we bought it. While outside warranty, Lexus agreed to replace it and I paid $500 off $1800 bill!!!!! Radiator leaked. I replaced it myself but found out lexus had extended warranty that would have replaced it free. The same side hedalight had condensation again. Fixed it this time by applying silicone around the lens. It has worked perfectly. Very comfortable seats/driving position on long trips, quiet, roomy. It has aged very well. leather in seating area is top notch. Currently at 95K miles and ready to sell it.

Bought this Pearl White 2006 RX used with 220k for $5500 in 2016. Original list was $38k ! Had noticed this line from Lexus when they came out in 2004 and thought they would make a good used vehicle at some point in the future. This one had been well maintained by the dealer and was a 1 owner vehicle. Noticed when purchased that the radiator had been recently replaced and that steering seemed a tad loosey-goosey but still safe. Everything worked and the drivetrain was strong with the brakes recently serviced. Month later noticed fluid on the garage floor that was coming from the steering rack. Bought a reman rack on line for $190 and had my trusty Toyota tech install for $275. Had the tie-rod ends, plugs, pump and timing belt all replaced after that..(had orig. plugs). New set of Cooper CS5 70K tires and alignment and she runs like new ! Numerous hot weather trips and mileage seems to be averaging about 21.9 but at 75-80mph with the A/C on. Would highly recommend the RX !...Smooth ride, quiet, 18.5 gal tank...Super deals on used high mileage RX's ...and they use Toyota Highlander parts. Update 2-20-20...Still going strong and recently had intake manifold leak resealed after noticing antifreeze odor under the hood...$460.

We bought a 2006 RX 330 in November, the mileage is over 3000 and we only went to the dealer for a oil change. Nothing is wrong and the comfort is great. The front seats can lay back flat and the back seats can recline to. There is a back up camera and sensors. There are I believe eight airbags but I did not fully count it. The GPS is great but sometimes will lose its accuracy. Very very reliable. I am waiting for the 2009 Lexus RX 350.

I hate to sell a vehicle that's running so well and is paid for. But, it is 10 years old and I want some upgrades the RX 350 has. This has been a wonderful family car with excellent reliability. I've never had a breakdown! It has only been in the shop for oil changes and scheduled inspections, plus 2 minor bumper/fender repairs [repaired perfectly]. As an update, I've put another 13000 miles on the RX330 and the Lexus dealer did the extensive 120,000 mile scheduled maintenance inspection. I also bought some new tires. The SUV continues to drive like it did in 2010 when we bought it. I do more in town driving, so a hybrid 400h or 450h would be a nice upgrade, especially with newer safety items. Unfortunately, the trade-in value of a 130K vehicle isn't very high. So, I'll continue driving an excellent car that has great value to me!

I have been a Subaru believer since 1979. This 2006 Lexus rx330 is giving my Subaru opinion a run for its money! Apart from the awful fuel economy, this Lexus RX the tightest, finest automobile I have owned in years. For a 13 yr old vehicle with 94k and zero road noise, I can see my driving for many more years.

After much research I went with the Lexus Thundercload Special Ed. Thus far, I have been VERY pleased with the performance, style and quality of the vehicle. I was a little disappointed with a few minor interior items that came standard in less expensive cars, such as: A place to put trash. I had to buy a small trash bag and carry that with me; Insufficent driver storage places. All you get is a large center console; Two buttons to operate the moonroof (tilt/open) instead of one. But I easily overlook these when compared with all the features and style this puppy comes with like the NAV system, rear camera and Bluetooth. VERY satisfied.

15 mos in service. At 25k miles, a/c clutch and hub replaced, power steering unit replaced, steering shaft "U" bolt replaced (to stop grinding sound), with tires rotated and checked for wear the Goodyears became noisy @ 25k miles and wore unevenly, tire rep said they usually give 25-27k miles service! Replacements are expensive as "performance" tires are mandatory. New Michelins are doing just fine. Numerous rattles were finally fixed after many miles of aggravation. Key areas failed not the "toys". Limited number of dealerships is a minus.

Toyota dealer advised @ 30k service that vehicle needs to go to Lexus (100 miles one way) for oil leak "back 1 cam seal leaking." If it were off warranty it'd be about $500. This combined with problems stated 8/13/07 will force us to switch makes next trade - have NO confidence in running the vehicle past warranty. This is still a young vehicle for the problems we've had.

My car rides and looks the part... but hesitates shifting on highway and in town. I had to have the drive shaft replaced luckily under warranty. It recently started squealing like a bad belt. I have had to replace the brakes at only 55k. The maintenance is definitely way more than their over blown reputation.

The idea of being able to slide into a car seat without bending is great on an older body. This car drives smooth both in the city and on the highway. Pick up speed when needed is there. Comfort while driving is a plus. The car is reliable - knowing that your vehicle will not break down at any time is a relief. Lexus dealerships are among the best anywhere, both for service and help. I really love my car. My friends who drive with me all compliment the features of this car.

Mi 06 Lexus is incredible SUV, comfortable, nice design, the performance, big cargo, ok with gas, for my budget is good, no expensive like Audi's o Mercedes, but super reliable in all aspects. I will buy another like this one. The engine have 213 K miles and is strong still! Just the regular tune up and that's it. I recomend this SUV for the family, another thing is faster in the freeway in mode 4.

I recently purchased my RX330 from my parents. They drove it for over 10 trouble free years, only replacing an alternator, brakes and fluids. They upgraded to a new RX for the newer safety features. My dad still comments how he likes his old one better and that it was the best car he ever owned. It is truly amazing how well this vehicle has held up over the past 15 years. What you give up in driving dynamics is more than made up in reliability and plushness. A true road trip cruiser!

This is basically a Toyota Highlander with upgraded trim, equipment and dealer network. That said, you give up some space for much better ergonomics, a little more style (although neither vehicle is going to win any one-off design awards) and gizmos. Reliability is Toyota all the way, but with a service department that is told to treat you like a valued customer instead of joe schmo. Performance is in the range of a Camry (same chassis, not surprising) which is to say it gets you to Target and back but you're not going to be autoXing this thing. Despite the supposed exclusivity of Lexus, the RX sells well so you see a ton.

It is by far one of the most fun vehicles I have ever owned. I now have about 12000 miles on my RX 330 and I have enjoyed every mile. One day the speakers sounded funny, I brought it into service. Service replaced all the speakers due to one which was cracked. You cannot beat that feeling you have finally purchased a quality car/suv. My car/suv rides like a car and completes all of the requirements of the suvs that I have owned in the past 20 years. I would buy again.

Consumer Reports and reading Edmunds owner reports were very helpful in making my decision to buy the RX. Hopefully, the Lexus will be reliable and pretty easy on the wallet. The Hybrid would be a fun toy but I couldn't make the math work. They make you take the NAV and back-up camera so the price is actually $6000 more than a regular well-equipped RX. ($41,171 MSRP in Socal)

This is our first front wheel drive Lexus product. To be honest, it will probably be our last. The RX 330 has a very well laid out interior, great leather, good controls. The engine is a little hard to start and loud. There is significantly more road noise with the RX than our previous Lexus SUVs we have owned. We never expereinced this with other Lexus products. For basic transportation the RX 330 is fine. I feel the RX 330 is over rated and over priced.

This is my 1st RX 330 after years of survey. The driver side seat belt hinge keep scratching the door and leave scratch marks, the distance of the inner door of the driver side and the driver seat is too close that each drive try to pull the seat belt, the hinge will most likely be in a flip up position that driver inadvertently just keep pulling until the hinge flip down and sqeeze between the door and driver seat. I have several marks left on the inner door aleady. Wind noise also a bit loud while on the high way. Every thing else is as good as a LEXUS should be.

Out of the many luxury SUVs we could have purchased, there was one that always made me look harder at those that were on the street. Everywhere we went they were all over, and some of them were over 3 years old and still looked great and have great service records on reliability, customer satisfaction etc., enough that the driver kept the vehicle and would not think of trading it in unless it was for another RX. We are so pleased that we will never chose another make of car. From the dealership to the sales person to customer service, really a wonderful experience that we hope will last throughout our ownership. Keep up the great work Lexus!

This is my third Lexus SUV and I am a very happy customer! The drive is good, the looks are good and the price is good! You can't beat the price for what you are getting. I bought 2 RXs in a row. Then decided to try another Make of SUV and what a mistake that was. So I traded it in a year later for the RX 330 and I'm happy again. My passengers love it also. I have only had my SUV in for oil changes & tire rotations. There is never a problem. This SUV you can count on! The stereo system is great, the seats are comfortable and the ride is smooth. I love new cars, so I do a lot of research before making a purchase and I keep coming back to the Lexus. In my book, it's top rated!

I can't see us driving anything else in the future, this vehicle is perfect for us. It is "eerily" quiet and smooth and handles deceptively well. The sound system is great and the” creature comforts" are outstanding.

A real pleasure. Everything works. Even the Nav System which is difficult to master is better than the last I had. Performance is very good and handling is outstanding.

We sold our Rx300 1999 to our daughter and since we are retiring, wanted one final new purchase. This vehicle is everything anyone could want in an SUV. We did not have Nav on the other vehicle but do on this...have on our other vehicle so are spoiled and knew we wanted it. Back up display is great, heated seats, smooth drive on car body. No complaints...

My Lexus RX330 AWD is everything I wanted in a luxury vehicle. The ride is very comfortable and the interior is roomy, stylish, and appealing. The auto AC is great and I also light the Xenon lights. Definitely worth the money....

This is my first Lexus, but not my first SUV. There is no comparison. I fell in love with my best friend's 03 Lexus RX 300. I did my research using the Auto Consumer's Buyers Guide and found that the RX 330 AWD was the best buy for this vehicle class. The RX 330 was rated number one for price as well as best drive and comfort for luxury SUVs. I am happy with my recent purchase. I love to drive my RX 330 on the open highway. This SUV is sleek and demands attention because of its shape. It is classy and smart.

Excellent vehicle. Second lexus I have purchased. Typical lexus quality overall. I drive this vehicle in some awful weather conditions in Canada and find that the electronic gear inherent in the vehicle makes for a very safe ride, quite pleased.

I'm a Realtor and I spend quite a bit of time in my car so I got everything I pretty much needed: GPS Navigation, Bluetooth phone. I really like the hands free phone because I can crank up the radio and it turns it down and tells me I have a call coming in without having to do anything. Easy controls on the steering wheel: stereo volume, phone, voice activated commands. Yup, you can tell it to do certain things with just your voice if you're feeling too lazy to reach a button. When people get in it, without knowing it's a Lexus, I always get complimented on the smooth ride and stylish interior. What else could a girl want?

Great all around vehicle. Plenty of room in back and for luggage. Rides very nice. As trouble free as an car on the road.
