Very disappointing
The 2021 Lexus RC 350 AWD F-sport in InfraRed is one of my dream cars, but what a disappointment. I tried getting a 2020 model in late 2020 but the car were either sold or had dealer demo/executive miles on them, so ordered a new one. For 2021 the RC 350 AWD had an increase in the MPG rating, this rating is mainly from transmission tuning. The 6 speed transmission now tries to shift into the highest gear possible and really bogs the car down, this happens in all the drive modes as well. Some other issues are a very bad fitted driver's sun visor, the sun visor sags down when its not latched and the latch was broke on delivery. The interior has a very strong coolant smell, I thought this was just burn-off but a few times in the winter i had to driver with the windows down to vent out the smell. Even parked not running the interior has a strong coolant smell. And finally the Electric park brake has failed to release about a dozen times now, this was a change for 2021 going from the manual parking brake to the electric one. So far no fix for the parking brake and the coolant smell. Compared to my 2019 IS350 the 2021 RC350 is just disappointing.
