Best car ever
I'm writing this to help all that are looking to purchase this car, I have a gs with 183.000 miles and still feels like a car with at least 70.000, this car has never giving me problems is extremely reliable and possibly the best car I have ever own, fun to drive, and with the aftermarket suspension that I put on it, it feels more sporty than ever.
Great Car, Love it!
I bought this car used with 85k last month, great for a 10 year old car. It is truly a wonderful car. I immediately changed oil, front rotors, front pads, rear pads and rear rotors(all were original). I have put about 3k miles in about month. This car rides like its brand new. This is definitely a keeper. If you can a find one with good miles, you cant go wrong. I checked all the review sights prior to buying. No one believes it's 10 years old when I tell them. It looks and rides great.

Love my Lexus!
I purchased my car used in June of 2009 with about 123k miles. The previous owner already changed the timing belt and water pump. The dealer gave me an old change and new front brakes. I had to replace the contacts on the starter (about $85 including labor), flushed the transmission, new spark plugs & replaced some engine seals. I didn't do all this work at once though. I expected to do a little maintenance since it was a used car.
BEST CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED!!
i bought this car a year ago with 150k on it. i did a royal purple synthetic oil change along with royal purple trans fluid. This CAR IS AMAZING. The 3.0 v6 will get up pretty quick if you have it switched to the power mode. The car is extremely comfortable with plenty of space to put stuff. For as big and roomy as the car is you wouldn't know while driving, it feels like a fun little sports car, and the shift in the transmission is almost not even noticeable. i now have almost 200k and it looks and feels like it has under 100kI put someHID headlights& led tail lights and put some nice wheels and tires on it and it turns heads. This is the best car that i have ever owned.
lexus does it right...again
this car is hands down the most awesome car on the market! Never gave me a single problem, i've been a lexus driver for 10 years, recently replacing my ES for the new GS, perfect ride, awesome nav., and super interior design-plus, it always takes me to the dealer to pick up my sister when her benz breaks down.
GS 2000 Best Car Ever!
I had my 2000 GS 300 for 13 years. Purchased car used 2002 and traded in with a little over 200K miles! Best car ever always reliable and just one major issue which occurred after owning the car 10 years (oxygen sensors). I loved my Lexus and planning on getting another real soon. Buy if you can just keep up with your maintenance checks and oil changes and you be fine. It’s 2017 and I don’t have a Lexus but I still want one! I have a Camry now and boy do I miss the Lexus!!

I've had problems
The GS300 is not the best-but good. For the price I expected more luxury.. treated well at the dealer is nice. I have ongoing problems with my 1 touch pwr driver wind closing half way,a noisy sunroof visor(closed), the LCD display on the AM/FM/CD comes in only half way(a 5 looks like a 0) I am told these are common. Annoying for what I paid! 33K used Driven several times from Seattle to the Bay&LA and have 82K miles. The struts/rods need to be replaced @ $800 and the belt is wearing out prematurly. TheLexus is a solid car, but has not been trouble free for me. -concider the newer GS '01 and above Gas milage and premium gas runs me $39.00 every 5-6 day
Bought 2000 GS in 2010!
I have never bought a 10 year old car before. But it was roomy for my 6'3" frame and 275 lbs! I found a 1 owner Car Fax certified model with 94,000 miles. Beside routine maintenance, I had work down on memory front seat and upper and lower control arms in the front. I have not regretted buying it.
Love it
I would buy this car again and again i love it for its price i only paid like $5000 had it for two years and thinking about buying another just to build on and have fun with....if the take care of the car it well take care of u

Great Car
I purchased this car new and have been very pleased. The Homelink malfunctioned during the warranty period and was replaced. The only other problem was the radio display which was replaced recently when the car was nine years old. The car runs and drives like new. It is by far the best car I have ever owned.
My GS300
Great luxury car for the money. I work at a Mercedes Benz dealer and knows the comparisons between the GS and E-class. I purchased the Lexus because it's comfort, value and reliability. And with my time and schedule, I don't have time to return to the dealer to have it worked on every month (even though I work at one). By far, the Lexus is a great buy. Very luxurious.
LOVE This Car!!!!
This is by far the best automobile I've purchased. Extremely reliable and has 115k miles on it... only minor standard maintenance required. Engine performance is very good, firm acceleration, but a few more horses under the hood, I wouldn't turn down. The car is almost 10 years old and the only thing that has needed fixing (above regular minor maintenance) is the rear drivers-side electric door-lock motor. $375 to fix, but was getting very annoying because it was affecting the car alarm when using the keyless entry. Overall; I rate this car an easy 9 outta 10. LOVE IT !!!
Luv It!!!!
No major problems with the vehicle. Minor ones were corrected without any inconvenience to me. The ride is smooth, driving is controlled and easy, and the body style is one that I love. The service is second to none. I don't believe I'll ever purchase anything other than a LEXUS.
Great ownership experience
This car was great. Very comfortable ride and most important to me, NO HASSLES! During 4 years of ownership, I had no mechanical or other problems. I just changed the oil and filled up the gas tank.
Runs Perfect at 100,000 miles!
My 2000 GS300 was purchased used off eBay at a good price in June 2005 with 90k miles. No rust, ran perfect, great shape. But, I decided to refresh it anyway by replacing all rotors (drilled/slotted), brakes, timing belt, water pump, complete tune-up, alignment, replaced cam seals, flushed and replaced all fluids and had it detailed. It looks and runs like a brand new car. Best car I ever owned old or new in 20 yrs. You can really feel the quality that went into the design and construction. Ride is smooth and quiet, shifts like silk, sound system very nice. At 100,000 miles now, it is just getting broken in and should last another 200,000. Highly recommend!
Great GS
I just traded in my 2000 Volvo s80 T6 for this 2000 GS. Wow, what a great car! The car shifts gears so smooth you can't even tell when it shifts. Performance is way better than than what it says on the website. I have ran 0-60 in about 5.9-6.5. There is no way it takes 7.7 to get to 60. The regular stereo doesn't have enough bass or speakers so get the mark levinson one. The leather seats are very soft but at the same time hold you in place as you go around a curv. Reliability is excellent. When I bought this car the lexus mechanic said this is the best inline 6 engine made. All around this is a great car.
Like-a-Rock
Previous sedan was Jaguar xj-40. This GS 300 is much better, more reliable, and far fewer maintenance issues. Running 17" wheels w/Toyo Proxes. May go to 18" wheels next. Yes, could use more back-seat legroom. Off like a shot with a tap of the accelerator. Corners great and tracks steady. Have 130,000 miles and still get 26-28 highway mpg. Will buy a GS 350 next. Gotta love 'em.
Wishing I'd Never Purchased It
I purchased this car and, prior to close, had to force them to give me new tires as my "certified" vehicle tires were badly worn. Nicks, chips, in excess of what one would expect for a car with 22k miles. Within a few months, the radio numbers were barely visible. Minor repairs still covered by warranty were required. Now at $83K, I would have spent $5K fixing items but for the fact that I deferred a $1400 service that would be a "nice to have" and the dealer will pay for the labor on a power steering column I have to replace after doing a $2700 service two weeks ago. I should have kept ES300; 208K miles without the problems I'm having here at 82K. Terrible snow handling.
My Wonderful GS
I haven't had one single solitary problem with this car...it's uncanny! I'd recommend it to anyone
My GS
Flawless, solid. Feels and performs like a new car after 48,000 miles. Build quality is beyond anything in its class. I know why the doemstics are dying.
Almost Perfect
Quality oozes from this car. Styling, handling, comfort, and space are all excetional. The ride is pure pleasure and not a rattle anywhere.
GS 300 Platinum
Drives smooth and like it's on a rail. Low and wide and stable - it looks lowered, but it's not. Pearl color is beautiful. Moonroof is real quiet when open, whereas the Acura RL we tested was noisy. Leather is real soft and comfy, even tho I was not a leather guy when buying. The sound system is the best I have ever heard in an uncustomized setup. WOW! My wife had to have this car, and now I'm glad we got it. Trouble free, quiet, dependable, sporty and luxury.
I love my car!
This is my second car and I love it. I have changed very little things to it such as 3 tvs and the IS 19' inch chrome rims. I also have a spoiler on it. The car has a quiet ride and has a very smooth ride also.
Best Car Ever
I'm a salesmanager and travel extensively. I trade cars every 2 years until now. My GS is the finest most trouble-free vehicle I've ever owned. And my Lexus dealer is more than terrific. Comfort, handling, looks, are all top notch. The ONLY complaints would be lack of steering wheel controls for sound system and the requirement of premium fuel for a car with modest (200) horespower. A more accurate quote would be,"Lexus, there really isn't any substitute"
GS300 in Georgia
The GS300 caught my attention due to Lexus' reputation for perfection plus this car has a sporty element to the styling and handling. My only major dislike about the car is the method the climate control system uses in the winter to establish the cabin temperature that results in blowing cold air on the driver. This is by design and unfixable by the dealer. It makes driving in the 30 degree temps sometimes frustrating if you do not like cold air in the winter even in the manual mode setting.
GS is a great car
I think this car is great, you cant here the motor let alone the road noise, mine has navigation and it brings out the beauty of the dash. I also enjoy the frame work of the dash in relation to the windsheild. The heated seats work awsome for when I travel to the snow or on a cold night.- My chick really diggs it too. On the exterior I have onyx black paint with a spoiler. I dont care to much for the grill which I am going to have replaced, HID front lamps are awsome, dont care to much for the lexus crome 16 in rims so will be replacing those.
High mileage and still strong
I acquired this 2000 Lexus GS 300 sports for almost 7 years now. A hand me down from my brother in-law due to rear engine main seal leaking. The current mileage is 250K. I never had any major issues aside from normal wear and tear (i.e., brakes, vacuum hoses, serpent belts, valve cover gasket, oil pan seal, tires, etc.) I replace with OEM parts that can be bought on-line or junkyard and YouTube on how to DIY. Compare this car to my wife's 1999 BMW 328i that has more issues and the check engine light is always on. A rare 2JZ-GE Supra engine gives you the fast acceleration on the freeway but eats lot of gas, 16 gallons full tank last me only for 4 days of daily driving.

Still the best car
I wish I have all the money to own it since new, anyway, purchased at 66k miles for $12k, just put another 5000, so far, did tune-up, O2 sensor replaced. Looks new and still shiny paint.
