My new 2020 RR PHEV had engine light still turned on after 3 times back to dealer service with changing parts. Now in service 4th time and they said that all this model cars in the world will be recalled for new hybride software that will be ready at the end of September 2020. 3 mo ths after buying a new very expensive car, still stuck to service and my lowyer has been dealing with manufacturer. UNRELIABLE CAR!!!!!

    Electronic nightmare

If all you had to do was look at this beauty in the parking lot or sit in it, it would be fabulous...unfortunately, you also have to drive it and that's where the romance ends. I purchased a P400E, the plug in hybrid, which purports the ability to select a "full electric" drive setting. Despite selecting this drive mode, the car has never driven under full electric at any time. Typically, only 25% of any trip is under electric power when selecting the "full electric" "EV" position. Land Rover has tried to explain the car has "certain algorithms" that force it into gas engine mode. While I agree that my Volvo PHEV also turns on the engine for a short burst if I accelerate hard, it turns it off fairly quickly and returns to full electric mode. This cannot be said for the Range Rover Sport which seems to turn on the engine randomly in addition to a hard acceleration. Black screens. The Sport's two center information panels also have a mind of their own turning themselves off at will. Occasionally, the screens reset themselves after a few minutes at other times, one must turn off the car to reset them. Additionally, under normal operation, they are slow to respond making access very clunky. Back up camera. Another feature that works about 90% of the time, but when you spend 90K for a vehicle, you would expect something 100% reliable. Other issues...throttle response inconsistent, parking brake occasionally activates by itself at when leaving a parking space, electric plug sometimes does not release (locking and unlocking the car a couple of times usually fixes it). Bottom line, pass on this vehicle. If you are really need this brand, skip the Sport as I know other people that have returned theirs due to similar electronic gremlins. If you're looking for an SUV PHEV that works, try the Volvo.

    QUALITY IS HORRIBLE

Everything you’ve read about Land Rover is true. This is my second and last Range Rover sport. There’s a ton of electrical glitches, fuel system sensor issues, braking issues, and now 3 of the 4 door locks needed replaced. $2,700 and of course they refused to cover it. Really? I don’t even think a Kia has ever had 3 door locks fail simultaneously and then tried to claim it’s not a bad batch of defective parts. The dealership rips you off as much as possible, and Land Rover USA is worthless. It’s a gorgeous suv, but it’s a nightmare to own. And ridiculously expensive. Bad company, bad service, and overpriced. Will be selling this thing and getting a new hybrid Lexus suv. $30k cheaper and way more reliable. Do yourself a favor, ignore the great looks of range rovers and buy something else.

    Dangerous Problems

My wife loves her 2020 RR Sport PHEV and it is a nice vehicle, sitting in it, it feels well made, quiet and smooth ride, overall, a luxury feel when driving for sure….. Here comes the HOWEVER…. However, it has some serious issues that cannot be resolved by the LR service folk. We bought the car brand new in January 2020. Currently, the car has under 10,000 and is exactly two years old. Over the past 4-6 months, on three different occasions, my wife will be driving and the vehicle will lose power in that she can press the accelerator pedal, there is no response, a complete lack of power. The engine doesn’t rev and she can move at a literally 2-5 mph; this happened to her on a road below our neighborhood where the speed limit is 40 mph and she was so scared. It gets worse. The same thing happened, we went to the dealer, they couldn’t replicate the issue so after it sitting at the LR dealer for two weeks, we took it back. Less than a week later, it happened to her again on the highway, speed limit of 70mph and almost got ran over by an 18-wheeler. She was beyond scared so back to the dealer it went (flat bed tow trucks) and after having it for 10 days, informs us that they are replacing the ‘power cable’, not sure what that means? Is it a wire harness? Some other issue? No one will tell us but because it is on back order, we need to wait at least another two weeks. She is fearful of driving her car again. Be aware of this issue and see if this is the best $110k you can spend on a vehicle.

    Charging issue for p400e 2020

I owned several car in my life but this is the worst one ever charging issue and when you push gas it jerks. Took it down to Reno Nevada for a service three or four time but no help. I am just going to give up on Range Rover service and trade in for something else. I am so angry about the service at the range rover but I am going to stop right here and they do not deserve one star.

Plug in hybrid needs electrical engineering. Car has too many problems the dealers can’t fix. When car works it drives great but not worth the days in service. Check ratings before you buy!!

    Love. This. SUV.

First, it’s the best looking SUV on the road with classic lines and simple elegance. It’s anything BUT simple, however, and it’s capable off-road and provides a smooth ride for long trips. The fit and finish should be a little better for the price, but it’s still head and shoulders over the other vehicles in it’s class. The hybrid works best if you drive short distances often. I’ve noticed a substantial savings in gas because this is how we use it. I read above where someone has a problem with the engine light going on. We have this problem too. I figured out it means nothing. I think it has to do with the air intake, and the quality of the air. It goes away and then doesn’t come back on for many months, so just an annoyance and one I can easily live with. Same with the plug-in. Make sure you see the white lights on before plugging in. The driving performance is excellent, with a quick response and tight steering, especially with the battery charged. The biggest mechanical complaint I have is the way the car will lurch unexpectedly when reversing at times. It scares me because you think you hit something. The high ride and excellent visibility make this car a pleasure to drive, which no other luxury SUV could match for us. My single biggest complaint—I think the standard vanity mirrors should be much better than they are.
