Jeep outdone themselves
I just purchased my 2011 Jeep Overland in Silver a week ago, and I can't say how pleased I am with this vehicle. I looked at the SRX, MKX, Benz ML, BMW X5, Lexus and compared the features and cost to the 2011 Jeep. The JGC wins hands down. The previous years the inside was never roomy, it was a tight fit. This new jeep is everything u want in an SUV-roomy, first class interior and quiet ride. It is completely redesigned from inside out. If you can afford it, get the Overland, I'm so glad I did. It is worth every penny and I won't mind writing my check every month! Jeep has outdone themselves! Great Job
Now that's more like it!
I have had 2 Grand Cherokees prior to this one. (1995 and 2000) I had no reliability problems, but Jeep never made substantial improvements. Both of these older vehicles rocked from side to side, and the interior and overall quality left a lot to be desired. My new 2011 V-8 Limited with 20" wheels provides a completely different ride. The leather interior is 1st class (no BMW hard plastic feel) It is so quiet, and feels so solid. The electronics are lots of fun, and the Garmin NAV in the 430N system is great. Although it feels a little large to drive it's pure comfort. (sold my Escape Hyb for the Jeeps towing power) I hate to say it, but except for the mpg there is nothing like a V-8.

Very Nice
Bought it last week and very happy. Took it from Florida to Virginia and had ample passing power on the highway and performed flawlessly in the Mountains. Seats are very supportive and comfortable. It's hard to believe this is a body-on frame SUV telling by the ride.
Overall great, but a few annoying problems so far
I have had my 2011 JGC Limited Hemi for about 7 months now. It's quiet, fast and handles pretty well for a heavy SUV ~ 4800 lbs. One major problem I have had is I went to start it and it was dead in my driveway. Found out the ground bolt for the starter sheared off. No clue how it happened, dealer had never seen it happen before. Automatic HVAC required reprogramming, would only blow hot air, seems to work ok now.. Pretty happy with the vehicle, very solidly built compared to my 2005 JGC which I hit into a concrete embankment at 50 mph and walked away without a scratch - hyrdoplaned. The vehicle is cheap life insurance, very safe.
Night and Day
Traded 2009 Grand Cherokee with LUX Pkg, 3.7 Ltr eng for 2011 Laredo E w/tow pkg and 3.6 ltr eng. More equipment now is standard and the eng blows away the 3.7 noisey, slow, fuel thirsty engine. The ride is night and day different with the fully independent rear suspension. The quietness of driving 80 MPH down an interstate and hear yourself THINKING is unbelievable for an off road type vehicle. Dealer gave good discount upon purchase. Drove Ford Edge Limited and did not like the fact of FWD versus RWD when needing tow power. Edge is limited to 3500 lbs,Jeep tows 5000lbs. Ford would not budge on price either!
