A comfortable cruiser

Traded in an Acura. This Laredo is so much more comfortable on long trips. Especially visibility, soft adjustable seats for smaller people, lack of road noise. Getting 22.5 mpg on interstates, 65 mph, A/C always on, V- 6 motor, 2WD.

The Legend Improves

I owned a 2001 Grand Cherokee that was a outstanding vehicle with no problems and this one looks like it may be as good or better that the 2001. A solid sporty and handsome SUV. I took a 600 mile trip with a mixture of interstate and mountainous roads and handled nicely and the seats are real comfortable. The 4.7 V8 is powerful and swift. The 5 speed transmission is a smooth shifter. You can tell that this vehicle has the influences of Mercedes. DaimlerChrysler has added some much needed creature comforts that the last generation should have had. I narrowed my choices down to a GC and a Trailblazer. I know I made the right decision with JGC.

Very poor quality!

We leased a 2005 Jeep Cherokee Laredo and not only is it a lemon but the dealership will not let us out of the lease. It breaks down all the time. Dealer cannot fix any of the problems we have had with it. Not to mention, recently, while driving down the highway, a small pebble went through the grill and hit the transmission cooler (in front of the radiator - don't be fooled, they look exactly alike), and caused transmission fluid to spray all throughout our engine and vehicle and it almost caught on fire. If a small pebble can cause this it gets you wondering about the build quality of this vehicle. I don't expect too much more from the 2006 or 2006 either.

Update After 6+ Months

Well I am back with a 6+ month review. This vehicle still gets very poor gas mileage. 15.673 per gallon to be exact (calculated by taking current mileage and dividing by gallons used to fill tank ---- 40 times). It still has a horrible tendency to down shift like a 67 Chevelle station wagon. Baaaaam! Is the best way to describe it. Sometimes bad enough to think you have been rear-ended. This is my third Jeep. And my last. Steer clear of Jeeps. That are not what they once were.
