Great leather interior, all time 4wd provides great grip on road or off. Acceleration could be better, but I would have to pay for the acceleration of a larger motor at the gas pump. The 4.0 is good for me.

I absolutely love my Jeep. I got a dark blue Grand Cherokee Laredo and it is very nice inside and out. I was very skeptical about Jeep from what others have said, but mine is very reliable, pretty good on gas, and a comfortable, but fun ride. The stereo is nice sounding, and the seats are a very nice, comfortable cloth. I really love mine and looking forward to trying out the 4x4 in the future. I was honestly surprised by how well mine is with gas. I drive a fair amount and my gas is barely gone. I definitely recommend the car overall.

The vehicle has refinement where other SUVs dont. I hear some people say that other SUVs in it's class have a better ride. The only thing that can be said to this is, when you are in a ice storm, rain storm, snow or a hurricane, it's nice to know you are in a jeep. Try clearing road hazards in a vehicle like the Explorer when you only have 6 inches of ground clearence. Jeep has greatly improved it's reliability in the last three years. Consumer Reports rates it well from 2000 on.

I have put almost 5000 miles on this new jeep and I love it!!! I had a 2000 Cherokee Sport that I thought rode like a wagon, but this GRAND LAREDO is a very nice, smooth ride. My mom has a Trailblazer and I like my Jeep FAR, FAR better!

A bit noisy and a bit bumby when truckin along, but thats exepcted...its a Jeep thing. Sound system cranks, the interior lighting is very clear and colorful (wife loves it)and its very roomy. Also very pretty looking truck.

The only problem that we have had with this car is the vacuum hose keeps falling off, disabling the heater and vent controls. It has been repaired by the dealer once, and by myself twice. Other than that, no problems. The car is comfortable, dependable, and fun to drive. It is especially capable on winter roads, and off-road driving. It tows well. I agree with the one reviewer who stated that the cup holders need to be deeper. An average coffee cup or water bottle will go flying when turning corners if your not holding it. Gas mileage could be better, considering it is a 6 cylinder. Overall, I am happy with this SUV, and would buy another Chrysler/Jeep product.

We really love this car! It's perfect for a family. The gas mileage is poor, but no worse than any other SUV. The V8 is definitely a good idea as far as the optional engine goes. The 6 cylinder runs great, but lacks pick up especially with the A/C on. A family of 5 fits perfectly with plenty of cargo room in the back. Dependable is an understatement; nearly 30K with not even a hiccup!

My First was a 1994 SE model, just the base model I honestly drove it until it fell apart, "Lil' RED MULE" had a tough life!!! I had to junk it and cried like a baby to see her go!!! but with 450,725 miles and only one repair job for $159.52 you can't beat that with a stick. I am having the same great luck with my new jeep, I will not buy any thing else! The average mileage my family gets at trade-in on their Cherokees is 280,000 miles. And just to let you know These vehicles are built for safety, ask my in-laws who hit a 1700 pound cow one night and walked away with out a scratch even though the vehicle was totalled!

I remember when Jeeps were reliable. Now they are not built the way they use to be. I bought a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I drove it 48,000 miles and in that time I have gone through 3 fuel pumps, 2 seats, 1 steering column, 2 window motor/modulators. Now I traded and got a 2003 Jeep. Guess where it is, it is in the shop. Great place for a new Jeep.

My Jeep has been a great blessing. I have enjoyed driving in the city, felt safe in the floods (did not go out when I did not have to) and have had a blast on the dirt. The V8 engine saved my life as I was able to get out of the way of an out of control car spinning toward me. The acceleration that is possible is something that you would expect from a sports car.

This thing is a beast, what more can I say. I actually want to take it out on the snow drift covered roads because it's that good. I've passed Hummer H2's on the expressway when they were in the clear lane and I was in the snow covered side. 4.0L is virtually unbreakable and quick around town but it really needs another gear for truly good highway passing. Steering is vague but the brakes are fantastic at stopping the car even though my rotors were warped by 15,000 miles. Stock stereo has tons of thump to it, I've never heard a better standard stereo and it's not even the infinity version!

I have owned my GC for almost one year, and it is as solid as the day I drove it off the lot. It has proven to be reliable in all weather conditions, and the V8 power is ample. The cold weather package has proven to be my favorite amenity. It is a good size vehicle for city driving and parking, unlike many of the behemoths out there.

It has been a good auto. We have had only one problem with the power window, but it was still under warranty and was fixed with no problems. We previously owned a '95 Explorer. The Jeep has a lot better ride but the Explorer drove better. As far as power they are about equal. We have the 6 cylinder, I would suggest going with the V8. The 6 cylinder's fuel mileage is poor and lacks power.

What attracted me to the jeep was the style. However, I regret buying it. Rotors continue to pulsate and require resurfacing or replacing about every 5- 10 k, I replaced with cross drilled rotors in the rear, so far so good. A little underpowered, If you manipulate the overdrive manually to delay engagement, you get better accel. w/o the lag. After purchase, fan relay, twice, once by the dealer (warranty) once by myself (good thing I'm a mechanic). Window reg broke once (warranty). Highway mileage is great 55- 60 MPH you can get 22-23 mpg if cond. are right. 60-65 mph you get 20-21. Overall it is very comfortable to drive and it suites my needs. If jeep could fix those problems/it would be 10

This vehicle replaced my Toyota 4x4 which I put 220,000 miles on. It had to be good to get me to replace that Toyota and I have not been disappointed. The power from the six cylinder is very suprising. You step on the gas and the acceleration will press you back into the seat. Looking forward to putting 200,000 miles on it. I put 1000 miles on it in a flash it is fun to drive.

I love everything about my Jeep Grand Cherokee. (except the gas milage, I get 17 mpg with the 6 cyl. The way my body fits the drivers seat, the way when I put my elbows on the center counsel glove box and the door panel while I'm driving the balance of the positioning of my body is perfect. The use of the controls the visability are great. I love the braking system and I like how it steers. Most of all at every angle this jeep is beautiful to look at. I am proud to say I have never had a problem with my jeep and the dealership is 2nd to none. I hope your 05 is as good as your 03. Alan Young

Completely fed up. Bought this with 31K miles in July 05; nothing negative in CarFax. Was out of town 3 months so have only driven it 5 months yet I've had to take it for service 9(!) times now: multi cylinder misfires (twice), valve over carbonization (twice), oxygen sensor failed/replaced, fuel line leaked, tensioner pulley fell out of engine (!) and replaced, pass-side window collapsed plus needed several parts replaced, and a few generic engine malfunctions. Unbelievable. Was there NO quality control? Only 35K miles now - should NOT be like this. I hate my car.

Although it's a step up in comfort and style from the 2000 Cherokee Sport we owned, it doesn't live up to its nearly $30K sticker price. Acceleration and handling is poor, tons of body roll, even for an SUV. Feels like driving a boulder. Brakes are higly unresponsive. Only thing worth a compliment is the ride quality.

This was the first vehicle I bought brand new. If I have ever had a vehicle nickel and dime me, it would be this one. Little things that aren't covered by the warranty. It started about 20K miles, with the brakes, and went downhill from there, rear axle, power steering, an electric window broke (in the winter), and CD player to name a few. If you don't mind the little fixes, go ahead and buy one. If you want a vehicle to stand by their warranty and is proud of their name. Don't go with any Chrysler. I love to drive this car, but I can't stand the "issues". I have never EVER put as much money into all of my cars combine, as I have put into this one.

Have had the JGCL with HO V-8 for about five months. Zero defects in build quality--no faults so far, which is surprising. Very comfortable with no "climbing or crawling" required for entry/exit, important to someone with orthopedic problems. Front seats adjust to almost any desired position, and the heated seats are great--tho the high setting is definitely high. Great vehicle, with decent gas mileage using regular gas on the road at legal speeds, 'tho not so great in town. A "Keeper."

When my PT Loser died I jumped on a great deal for this used 03 Laredo. The best decision I ever made. My son has a 97 with 170K and loves it and with the expected life of this SUV being around 500K I think we both will be driving them for years to come. We took both of them out in the snow the other night and had a great time. I can't wait to get it in the mud this Spring.

I purchased my Jeep with 20K miles and at the time thought it was a good investment. I've owned it for 4 years now and its been in the shop at least a half dozen times for electrical related problems. First the lights wouldn't work, then the automatic windows, then the bucking and stalling, now its the directionals. These are cheap fixes either. Each trip to the shop seems to cost $400. This is the least reliable vehicle I've ever owned. I'll never buy another Chrysler product and neither should anyone else.

Despite the horrible accident, the Grand Cherokee was a very good vehicle. I was hit by 2 cars and walked away with only a stuff neck...not bad. I had my Laredo for 3 months and really liked it. It doesn't ride as smoothly as other SUVs in its class, but I felt safe, secure and compfortable behind the wheel. They made some changes from the '99 model I had which I don't like - - the 2003 doesn't come with crossbars for the roof rack, they made an extra step in the "fold the back seat down" process, the front and back seats are made of less-expensive material and it doesn't come with floor mats. Despite this, I would recommend this vehicle.

I have had nothing but issues with the Jeep Grand Cherokee. The mechanics in the automatic windows is faulty, this model has a well documented faulty brake problem, with a class action lawsuit to boot. The transmission is no dream either, constantly slips and has trouble shifting gears. This oversized golf cart is quite possibly the worst investment that you can ever make, save your money and get an Accord. I've also had issues with alignment on the vehicle, so in short I really don't have anything positive to save about the Jeep Grand Cherokee other than the fact that the wheels have not flown off the vehicle while driving but I must say that is about it. Hope this helps.

This is my 2nd Cherokee and my last. Mind you, this vehicle spends more time sitting in my garage than on the road. It has been babied all its life and looks like the day it came off the showroom floor. To date, the A/C has been replaced (all components), all the window regulators have failed, the brakes have warped rotors, it is noisy (wind) when driven at highway speeds, the A/C is not blowing cold again, the driver's power seat is broken, all the side mirrors have broken at least once, all the hydraulic lift supports have been replace several times, the clear coat is soft so anything that touches the paint leaves a mark. The list goes on and on.

We bought this car used with 24k and it had no problems whatsoever, but after the 15 day return of the vehicle we have had nothing but trouble ever since. It has been to the dealer more than 3 times. It shakes really bad when you drive it and the air will not work unless it is on lo of you put it any higher the car will break down. The check engine light is constantly on and has been reset. We have owned a jeep before and just had a few problems with it but I would not recommend any type of jeep to anyone. With all the money we have spent on parts it should work just fine even though it has 80,000 on it. Every time it goes to the dealer there is always something with it. So don't buy one.

In july we purchased a cherokee limited and we were very excited. We thought it was our dream car and it turned into a nightmare. We had gotten the 8 cyl because the review on the 6 was not so good. Well we have had nothing but problems with the transmission. It has slipped from drive to neutral and also from reverse to neutral. The car idiles at 400 to 300 rpms and stalls when it is at a light. The interior is also made poorly. The sunroof has fallen apart. Insullation from the windows has fallen out and there is also alot of moisture on the interiors of the windows. The dealership has done nothing to fix these problems.

I had a 2000 JGC Laredo V8 that I really liked, but rotors warped. Bought this Jeep Limited HO V8 early 2003 and have put 35000 miles on in 16 mnths. No front rotor warping like the last Jeep, tracks great, stable through high speed turns as long as you keep a constant turn. Try to "saw" your way through turn and you will upset your balance. Slight harsh shift from occasionally. Maybe a small back seat, not a huge cargo area. But way shorter and more easier to drive than a recent Trailblazer rental. I think the interior styling is still attractive, and open. Resales not the greatest it seems, but I love it so much I may keep. Go with V8 HO!

I agree 100% with kselle (6/30/04) posting. At ~25k miles my car started to vibrate. I brought it to Meineke and they said the rotors were warped and should be fixed under warranty. Chrysler 1400 Motors of Nashua, NH would not replace the rotors under warranty and said it was at my cost. They did replace the leaking rear joints & right front shock leak. There's no end in sight for Grand Cherokee rotor problem until enough people complain to make a new design manditory by Chrysler.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd. is the best SUV I have ever owned. Everything has functioned perfectly in everyway and for a V8 4X4, 21-23mpg on highway is great. Also think the ride is just about perfect, not too smooth and not too firm.

This is my second Jeep and it will be my last, nothing but problems (costly repairs). Brakes, rotors, air conditioning, water pump, exhaust, throttle position sensors, coolant leaks, broken seats & terrible stability problems. The Jeep was great for the first four months or so, then it just went downhill fast, it seems to have lost its stability and handling and has required too many repairs. My first Jeep was a 1994 Cherokee Sport, which had very little problems (over 125k) and no stability issues. Maybe I just got a lemon but I won't be taking a chance and buying another one to find out.

If there is a better SUV out there for the money, I'd like to hear about it. I've driven a lot of SUVs (ML, X5, Explorer, 4Runner) and none are better then the Grand Cherokee. Jeep could easily charge $10,000 more for this vehicle and it would still be worth it. I've never had any mechanical problems and I drive harder than almost anyone I know. Three years later the paint looks as good as the day I bought it. Mind you, the vehicle has never been garaged.

My 2nd Jeep, 1st was regular cherokee I gave to my son. Outstanding ride, & luxury unbeleivable in a true off road vehicle. Shoped around and compaired ALL others including KIA (lowend) to Lexus (higher end) anywhere within $15k of price. Best Buy on the market. Very Impressed.

What a huge let down. We have had issues with ours nonstop. The check engine light comes on indicating a problem. The dealer charges a diagnostic fee of about $95.00 to tell you why the light comes on. The first time was because the gas cap wasn't tight, the second (about 6 months later) because the gas cap had a crack. Each time at a cost of $95.00. The engine light is now on again (3 months since the last $95.00). My air conditioner won't get cold and the heat won't get hot. This began after 1.5 years. We also had to replace a fan relay at 18 months ($325.00). I was just over my 36,000 mile warranty. I spend less to maintain my 10 year old Toyota! I should have purchased from them again instead.
