My first Chrysler buy is above all others

My 2020 Jeep Latitude Plus 4WD 4 cylinder is one of the best vehicles in over 40 years of driving. I rate 5 stars for the safety features, comfort, interior (cold weather package) and smooth drive. The stability on highways and city seems like a ride in the cloud. Also impressed with the turns, engine's horsepower transfer to wheels and Jeep warning devices. My past SUVs (Toyota, Honda, Nissan) were good but not comparable to this Jeep experience. Also, the city and highway MPG are higher than advertised and Consumers Report numbers.

Not just great to look at, it’s a pleasure to drive. I kept close track of the fuel mileage and gave me a solid 24 miles per gallon at 75 miles an hour with the cruise on. I just wish it had a larger than 15 gallon fuel tank. And figure out a good way to disable that start stop feature. Most importantly, the Apple CarPlay worked seamlessly. I plugged my phone in and my my navigation apps popped right up there.

Great SUV

Awesome 4x4. 2.0 Turbo has lots of power and torque. Very quiet going down the road and very hard to believe this is a 4x4 given the great ride. A very solid feeling SUV. Interior is very nice with nice materials. Front seats are very comfortable and even the passenger seat is electric. I have heard bad things about the 9 Speed tranny, but I have not noticed any issues to date. Very smooth shifting. The LED headlamps are very bright but do not blind oncoming drivers. Gas milage is a solid 25 MPG going down the interstate on cruise control. The 8,4 Infotainment system is among the best I have ever seen. Pairs right up with your phone and connects almost instantly with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Google maps works great as our go to NAV system. Map updates from Google almost constantly so you are always driving with the latest map. Contrast this with factory NAV which is expensive to purchase and expensive to update every year.. All around a great SUV that stands head and shoulders against the competition. After all, it's a Jeep. Since 1941

Very well built rugged vehicle. Even the non-trailhawk versions are solid. Quiet ride and is very comfortable too. Plenty of rear seat space for people with longer legs and lots of hip room. I test drive this vehicle in many styles but the 4x4 drive with the V6 or turbo 4 is the best. Don't get scared by the 9 speed trans some make a big deal out of. That general sluggishness was several years ago and the software updates have improved it 10 fold. Love the interior layout and that there is NO plastic fantastic pieces making it look cheap. It's nice soft materials all around

Starting with safety it’s a great vehicle. You can add numerous of safety features such as coward collision warning, lane departure warning, crash imminent braking, and dynamic brake support. I have a limited v6 and it drives beautifully, it’s powerful, and pretty fast. The car inside and out is just unique and beautiful, it doesn’t feel cheap like most cars. The interior comes with numerous features you can add as well like cold weather group. Don’t add navigation though if you have apple car play because any navigation app will automatically go onto display. Highly recommend this car!

I have a 2020 jeep latitude with a 2.4 ltr tigershark engine and i see many owners are losing oil at a alarming rate of approx 1qt per 1,000 miles FCA says this is normal and no fix is available a couple of lawsuits are going on in detroit and in california many customers state a complete engine shutdown and staling if below a qt loss and oil is not leaking from the engine this engine runs very hot any many mechanics say the oil evaporates. get with the program FCA address the real problem or buy them back.

I recently bought a (2020 Jeep Latitude Plus 6 cyl.) Not on the list of models here. No hesitation great pick-up, tight feeling vehicle, less outside noise, very comfortable, it has 1/2 gray leather & black cloth centers in the seat, it looks much better w/ the gray & black, very comfortable, keyless which is real nice & auto start, heated seats & steering wheel is great. I think I tried just about every brand of SUV in this size, nothing compared to its performance & quietness & comfort. And I am pretty picky when buying a car. UPDATE AFTER 2 YRS Still love my Jeep Latitude, No problems at all, I tried many SUV's when I was buying, I was open minded to my choice, but after driving this model, it was my choice & still is my choice. I do recommend the 6 cyl. which I did. Gas Mileage is not bad at all. I only have 9,500 thousand miles, but I still love my Jeep 2 yrs later

Driver Side water Leaks

Upset-disappointed, 08/02/2020
2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk Elite 4dr SUV 4WD (3.2L 6cyl 9A)
34 of 38 people found this review helpful

Purchased early model release Sept. 2019. I do wish it had lighted cup holders like mentioned and a customizable screen setting. Mine came with a added option of water leaks on the driver side. I noticed when doing my 1st vacuum cleaning the driver side floor carpet was wet and also passenger side back seat. I dried it up and cleaned it thinking it was a detail issue or fluke. Later I noticed mold growing, very thick under driver side rubber mat. Took to dealer where I purchased the Jeep. They dismissed it and said the Cherokee's never leak. That is a 25.2 trip one way and took nearly all day. Service cleaned carpet and sent me on my way. Again couple weeks later mold came back and driver side wet. Back to service and demanded it be fixed. They had it nearly a month in service, said several leaks found, had to take front end apart and removed the dash. Service said the firewall had weld breaks and caused the leaks. The car had only been a flat level ground. A leaky ($40K) 4x4 and has never been pushed offload in anyway. It appears to finally be fixed but Dealer nor Jeep made any effort to comp us for all the trouble. They sold me a broken car at full price that I then had to deal with. I'm not sure I will ever purchase another Jeep product after going through this. Service was actually rude and made us feel like we were putting them out to get this fixed. Very disappointed in my decision to buy Jeep. I had a Nissan SUV for over a decade and never had a single problem with it, service was good too. I may go back to Nissan.....

Get the 3.2L V6. The base 4 cyl is pretty slow. The turbo 4 is new this year plus you have to use premium fuel and pay extra for the turbo. The V6 comes with a 9 speed automatic and it really flies. I get 24 mpg on the highway and it’s ride is very smooth and quiet. It’s great looking fast comfortable loaded with options and reasonably priced. I’ve had mine since early June and now has 6000 miles with no problems and love driving it.

I had a 2014 Compass which was a very good and dependable SUV. After seeing the design of the 2020 Cherokee Latitude Plus, I took a test drive and loved it. The ride is so much smoother than the Compass, which really makes my wife happy because with her bad back she thinks it's so much smoother riding and can hardly feel the bumps. Being 71, it's hard to turn my head when backing out and the rear camera makes it so much easier to back out. Of course, I'm still waiting for a good snow to test out the 4X4 feature. You will not be disappointed in a Cherokee.

Handles great!! Very comfortable. I had a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee before this and loved it. However, my 60 year old hip was starting to not like having to step up into the vehicle. This Jeep Cherokee Limited is a nice compromise. Same features, but I don't have to step up into the vehicle. My hip loves it also!

Vehicle was purchased new 7/2020. Was fine for the first few months. Then started smelling like it burning. Took to dealership found mold under driver side floor mat. They attempted several ozone bombings to kill it. Sent it to a mold and leak specialist who found body seem not sealed. Chrysler refuses to fix vehicle that only has 7500 miles on it. Will not payoff vehicle in full only offers another Chrysler vehicle at a discount. Have been loyal customer for decades, but not anymore. Please stay away from ALL Chrysler products they dont care about nothing other than a dollar.

Named after a favorite character, this suv is amazing. I love the easy to use active cruise control, great for driving in traffic, it allows for constant changes in speed quickly to keep distance between you and the car in front. We’ve taken it off-roading already and she handled like a champ in both crossing a narrow stream and immediately after, going through sugar sand without skipping a beat! Fuel economy is definitely pretty good for a V-6 getting on average about 23-24 mpg. Seats are comfortable even for a cross-country drive. Pickup from the engine is great whether at highway speed or merging into a busy road, the transmission can occasionally give a little stutter but the stutter is predictable. The V-6 powertrain is definitely is not as laggy as the turbo.

I had high hopes for the Jeep, but after one year, issues developed. The transmission had a clunking/clicking sound, which could not be located. Shifting hard. The dash was confusing, never could deal with the buttons, etc. Rear seats had very little leg room. Sun roof created a wind tunnel after about 3mph. Two years later, traded it for the Telluride. No regrets.

2020 Jeep limited with the 4cyl turbo. Have had it two weeks. First I was getting something under the hood running after shutting motor off for up to 45 minutes. Brought it to dealer, of couyrse nothing they could find. Today wife pulled in garage shut the engine and smoke was pouring out from the grill. Car was not overheating but lots of smoke or steam.. I have never seen smoke or steam in any of my new cars like this and I lease two vehicles every three years. So now its back to the dealer Monday.

I got this car after my Audi was totaled. I’ve had it for a year and have 17k miles on it. Let me just say I’ve had plenty of issues with this car. My Audi I had for the same amount of time and had about 48k miles on it and never had a single issue with it. But on this 2020 brand new Jeep Cherokee, they have been one after the other. First, when it rains, my lock button on my door handle doesn’t work. Second, I started my car and my screen was black for like 5 minutes. Nothing working but air conditioner. Third, the big one, I was at a stop light waiting for it to turn green, my parking break randomly comes on as soon as the light turns green. People were waiting for me to go because my parking break turned on for no reason. One of my friends sister was driving down interstate and she had the same car and it just stopped in the middle of interstate for no reason. Also the engine on this car is so laggy and slow. Much better competitors out there. If you need a bunch of issues in your life buy a brand new Jeep Cherokee! :)

did a lot of homework before buying, I needed a vehicle that would shine off road or on road, so I chose a trailhawk 3.2L, very luxurious, 8.4 uconnect infomainment system, very easy to connect, I put a K&N airfilter in it. On the highway I get 28 to 30 mpg. Off road I use the vehicle in softsand on the beach, runs very well , comes with all terrain 245x65x17 firestone AT tires perfect match. very well mannered on highway and ver quiet inside. a very impressive suv. I love it and would recommend the trailhawk model to anyone.

I love my Jeep Cherokee Lattitude plus. It performs very well, with a lot of options and the gas mileage is great. The only thing that I do not like is the back cargo area is relatively small where I can only fit 2 medium golf bags side by side. Laying another set of clubs on top the clubs hit the inner plastic panel. This is the only flaw that I do not like so other than this my Jeep is an awesome vehicle..

While my 04 Grand Cherokee Laredo still looked great and had low mileage I needed something RED. It's taking me a bit to get used to since it's not a 4WD but I love it. Easier to handle, a bit lower so easy in/out. The interior is exceptionally nice, more than I had expected and fully loaded for the price. I'm looking forward to my first road trip.

All of the technology and features of a $100,000 luxury SUV at less than half the price. It looks sleeker than most of them too yet has that unmistakable Jeep brand look which always communicates a good message about the personality of the driver: Extremely smart: not willing to settle for less, yet doesn’t need to show off by wasting money on a car manufacturer brand.

Not a 2016 Trailhawk

Matt, 01/02/2020

I traded in a 2016 Cherokee Trailhawk for a 2020. I have to say I am disappointed. Let me first say that the drive is still the same, solid and quiet, but the engine seems to lack a little low end punch when going up hill on pavement. Here is why I am disappointed. No locking fuel door, no ability to change the backround design on the radio, my 2016 seats had actual leather bolsters on the seats, now they are cheap vinyl, one of the biggest disappointments...no hidden cargo compartment under the passenger seat, as well as not having the ability to have the passenger seat fold flat forward, lastly no more lighted cup holders. I do realize that these are probably superficial to most people but to me they were really neat little features that made the Trailhawk a really cool vehicle to own. I know some of you will be saying...why did he trade in his 2016. Well if had about 50,000 miles on it, the dealer gave me an incredible amount of money on a trade and a price on the new one that I couldn't pass up. Shame on me but I didn't even drive the new one before I bought it and now I can say I'm not too sure I would have purchased the 2020 if I had known some of my favorite features were now gone.

I traded in my 2014 Jeep Limited for a Trailhawk Elite. I am surprised that the drive is so smooth and of course the vehicle is very capable. I personally miss the UConnect Navigation and so far Android Auto is lacking. As of yet, cannot get my phone messages. The Technology Package does not help with a decent phone or navigation set up.

I am approaching 25000 miles. My cherokee continues to ride smooth and quiet. Im just about ready for new tires. Ill likely get perellis. Each time I get behind the wheel I know ill enjoy the drive. I still look back at it as i walk away. The fact that the model is discontinued makes my cherokee more special. The interior is holding up great. The paint is as shiny as new. I think the ceramic coating i put on has a lot to do with it. However i started looking at a wrangler sahara unlimited. But they are expensive. I’ve updated my review a few times. Certainly nothing negative to report. Everything continues to operate as it should. Bumper to bumper the jeep looks new. I just detailed my Cherokee myself applying a graphite polish giving the paint an unbelievably smooth finish with an amazing shine. I am now teaching our amazing granddaughter how to drive. She enjoys all the safety features that help make her aware of the surroundings and add to her skill. As for the mechanicals…all functioning perfectly. Just replaced the wipers and will be getting new tires before winter sets in. Unfortunately, jeep decided to halt production on the Cherokee. In comparison drives, my son has an ‘20 Audi Q5 and my sister has a ‘21 Cadillac SUV. I believe my Cherokee drives just as quiet as either of these SUV’s. It rides as comfortably as they do, but my jeep is slightly more stiff which I would expect. I feel more secure on the road. It offers at least as much tech, although I chose not to get the built gps. I don’t regret the decision. Using Apple Maps is easy and I don’t have to concern myself with expensive dealer updates., Autopark jeep in Cary NC had offered a good buying experience and had offered a wonderful service experience. Side note…my wife has a ‘19 Jeep Compass which she thoroughly enjoys. The compass has only 2 negatives…too sensitive break peddle and rides a little noisy on the highway. It’s a great looking vehicle. I had a 2015 cherokee Ltd which I loved…especially the front light set up, probably one of the few but I wanted a new cherokee with a full compliment of safety features. I purchased a new 2020 which I’ve had almost 3 years. I look forward to driving it every chance I get. Good looking, easy to drive, comfortable, very smooth v6 engine. Great gas milage, roomy, and goes anywhere. I’ve taken it skiing to the Virginia mountain, kayaking, around NC, many beaches and all types of roads. Many short trips and quite a few 4 hour+ drives. I’ve never experienced some of the negative comments others have made. Transmission…ride…etc.. the cherokee has performed flawlessly. The trim type below does not offer the option for a limited v6.

I had never driven a Jeep but they kept catching my eye while riding up and down the roads. After considering several different SUVs and reviewing websites, we went to the Jeep dealership to take one for a test drive. Loved it! You can't beat the looks and the value. I love my Cherokee!

Very happy with our Cherokee, 20k miles so far and zero problems. Looks great (OK, that's subjective) , smooth quiet comfortable ride, comfy seats, good front and rear legroom, good infotainment system. We average 28 mpg, maybe more hwy than city miles. The 2.4 motor is fine for most users, but if you need snappy acceleration get the 3.2 or 2.0T. If you get the 2.4, check the oil once in a while. The transmission works great, never a hard shift. I think Jeep pulled a classic GM move with this vehicle - launched with a lot of fanfare, but the first couple years had some issues. Now they're straightened out, it's a great little vehicle, but a lot of buyers are looking elsewhere. We enjoy ours a lot.

I am at 26k miles. Just had a state inspection. Cherokee continues to perform as new. Looks terrific. Rides great. Still love driving it. The rotors are warped so need to take it in for brake service Just cleared 20k miles. Cherokee is wonderful. I had an interior accident. I was hauling my lawn mower and it made a small hole in the leather in the back of the passenger seat. Having checked with jeep the full seat top would cost over $700. I have the name of an apolsterer so I’ll get a quote from them. Also I researched how to do a repair on my own and I’m going to try it. If it’s not perfect I’ll take it in. As for the rest of the cherokee, it is running perfectly. It rides like a dream jeep. Absolutely no complaints. I just learned that jeep is no longer going to produce the cherokee so I’m driving an antique. Although the miles are slow in building. However my Cherokee continues to be flawless. I love driving it. It looks great and the blue color is amazing and the light grey interior easy to keep clean. The Jeeps power is very much appreciated. Quick, agile, comfortable, and handsome. This my 4th jeep vehicle. Ive owned a 2003 liberty, a 2015 cherokee and currently own a 2019 compass Ltd and a 2020 cherokee Ltd. we’ve had the compass since march ‘19 and the cherokee since oct ‘19. We love jeep. My wife thoroughly enjoys the trouble free compass ride, looks, features and size. She prefers smaller SUV’s. I love the ‘20 cherokee for the same reasons plus the v6 power and some features not offered on the compass. The compass offers the same or a touch more cargo room even tho its 6 inches shorter. The cherokee offers a better ride. But i enjoy driving both although my wife prefers her compass. Fit and finish on both jeeps is great. The in cabin air filter is easy to replace on the cherokee not so much on the compass. Both suvs are recommended. But i have to admit the compass seems a bit more stylish. General shape, lines and two tone paint. The compass doesn’t have enough front passenger storage. I added a roof mounted eye glass holder in place of the grab bar over the drivers head. Go test drive either.

I have had mostly Ford vehicles in the past and although I enjoyed them quite a bit and was always satisfied with performance, reliability and quality I was never "overwhelmed" with the designs. I have to say that I liked the look of the 2020 Jeep Cherokee right away. Beautiful vehicle! I was considering a RAV4 because I liked the new design but the Jeep Cherokee has it beat in looks and quality as well as performance and reliability. It is thousands of $$ less expensive as well, So it was a "no brainer" for me. I get a lot of compliments on my new Jeep Cherokee and it's probably one of my favorite vehicles that I have owned throughout the years. It's fun to drive and is very comfortable as well. It has a beautiful interior to match the beautiful exterior. The sound system is great and I was able to pair my blue tooth immediately. The only thing I don't like is that Start/Stop feature. It's totally annoying and I wish I could permanently disable it. I have no idea why they seem to think this is a good feature. It can't possibly save that much fuel or emissions and has to be 10 times as much wear and tear on the starting system. Other than that one feature I have no complaints and only high praise for my 2020 Jeep Cherokee! (I have the Latitude 4x4) Update: I STILL LOVE MY JEEP!

I have the 2.0 turbo altitude trim and thus far pleased with my purchase, despite having some reservations initially because of reviews regarding the 9 speed transmission. It feels large than it is. I have a decent amount of leg and head room (I'm 6'3") the controls and touch screen are simple and easy to use even when driving. Gas mileage is fair given the weight of the vehicle. The led head lamps are attractive, but visibility isn't great, even when using the high beams. The transmission definitely has a lag and seems to have a difficulty deciding which gear is best. Especially when attempting to quickly pass, or when going down a large hill. The slap stick isn't much help. I'm pleased with my purchase. Its my first FCA purchase, so I'm a somewhat concerned with the reliability. I did purchase an extended warranty just incase

This is the 2nd worse vehicle I've ever been stuck with. Head rests that are far too tall jut forward poking the back of your head to the point your constantly leaning forward. If you're tall then the B pillar is right next to your head and you loose all sideways visibility. No way to permanently disabled the engine off "feature" when you're stopped. Under powered and clumsy. Infotainment system is garbage and there are minimal knobs anywhere. To change the climate control you have to take your eyes off the road and access the settings via the touch screen. No audio controls on the steering wheel, just cycles through useless info on the dash. Seats are not supportive and it's impossible to get comfortable. Stay away from this rolling dumpster fire.

I bought my 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 6 cyl 4x4 brand new with all possibe options. I like the solid and comfortable ride, power and safety features. In black, it's a nice looking vehicle as well. Handles great in snow, rough terrain and on the highway. Now have over 100,000 km and have spent only about $ 2,000 on Maintenance. Hopefully my luck will continue. I am confident due to the solid reputation of the 3.2 ltr Penstar engine. The only thing I dislike is the small fuel tank. Between city and highway, its challenging to get over 500km per tank. So when the low fuel light comes on, I get a mere 50km warning. This requires some careful planning when driving on the Prairies where gas stations are far apart. Otherwise this is one of the best vehicles I've had in the last 25 years after the 1960's to 1990's muscle cars that I drove when I was younger.
