LEMON? OR JUST BAD CAR!

I, as well as other friends I've discussed with have had back door locks freeze up and require replacement. At this time, both of my back doors DO NOT open. Idle is not right, oil leaks, radiator leaks (keep in mind, NO accidents in this vehicle). Now exhaust system needs repair...they quote $2500. I will opt to donate this piece of garbage to unfortunate charity just for tax purposes. Do yourself a favor...Do NOT buy!

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly...

When I got into the SUV market I saw the Rodeo as (at the time) one of the few V6's with nearly 200 horse power. I also thought it was an attractive package. I found one used with approx. 40k Mileage on it. I've now got about 83K. For the first year or so it was a charm. Once it hit about 60K miles though I had to start replacing stuff. Head gaskets leaking, water line on back of motor (necessitating motor pull to change) started leaking etc. Transmission now seems to be slipping a bit as well. Back doors have to be unlocked manually. Power windows seem noisy.

I purchased mine with 120,000 miles on it, and it runs like new. Very smooth engine and transmission. I like the fact that the resale value is so bad, because I was able to purchase mine for < $4000! A steal for what I got. 4wd, power windows/locks, and very clean. I'm very pleased with my purchase so far.

I have had my rodeo for 4 years now and am still loving it. I have found it to be reliable with no major mechanical defects. It has also proved very stable on bad roads and bad weather. The 4WD system works well and is easy to operate. I agree with the others that the seats can be uncomfortable on long trips. My front bumper is beginning to rust now

We paid way too much for this mediocre mid level SUV. We have had difficulties with the battery, auto door windows, power locks and its eaten two starters in the short time we have had it, I would recommend this vehicle at its current price not at the inflated price I paid 13k.
