The drive is superior, all the functions work very well. I have a limited trim and it looks very nice on the road. I will replace wit the same brand later once more technology is available.

Buy an Armada instead

2020 INFINITI QX80 LUXE 4dr SUV 4WD (5.6L 8cyl 7A)

This suv is very luxurious and really nice inside, but it is based on a 10 year old platform. That being said it feels somewhat cheap and not much different from a Nissan. I only had this car for a weekend as a rental, and don’t get me wrong, it’s very comfortable, but in the long run I would not love it. Even though I had the base model Luxe, I was surprised at some features it lacked. Some include air conditioned seats, heated rear seats, an entertainment system, and a pretty standard audio system. I am being a little nit picky, but a $70,000 suv should have more than it does. My 2007 Acura has better sound, and you could get air conditioned seats on a Tahoe ten years ago. Overall, I like the QX80, but there are some areas it could be improved. You may as well save $30k and get an armada instead.

Rough around the edges

We bought one of these new. Nice looking car and nice interior. Great in snow and easy to drive at high speed for the size. However, after owning the car for two years we traded it in. There are some design features in this car that make you scratch your head. Here's a list: 1. Cruise control is absolute garbage. You hit a slight incline and the thing downshifts and redlines immediately. It's a joke. 2. The seats are very slightly pitched forward and very uncomfortable after about an hour. You cannot nestle in to these seats and get comfortable. 3. Why are the third row power seats so slow to move up and down? And there is no stop point to indicate they have been reclined back to a normal sitting position. 4. There is some sort of known issue on these that prevents the battery from fully charging. So in the case of a lot of quick trips, at times the battery won't be charged enough to start the car Our brand new car left my wife stranded on several occasions. 5. The door panels are made out if very thin metal. Ding and nick very easily.

'21 Infiniti QX80 vs '21 Nissan Armada

2021 INFINITI QX80 SENSORY 4dr SUV (5.6L 8cyl 7A)

I test drove both the 2021 QX80 Sensory AWD and the 2021 Nissan Armada Platinum AWD today. In my opinion, the QX80 outshined the new Armada hands down. I was in love with the Armada for years until the previous generation. Then I fell in love with the QX80. When Nissan refreshed the Armada, I liked it again and decided to go give it a look. I test drove it today and was impressed. I don't like the infotainment screen sticking up over the dashboard, but it is easy to see the navigation, climate controls and music functions while driving. The seats were comfortable and the interior was nice. Wasn't too impressed with the sound system. The drive was comfortable and the acceleration was very impressive. The steering was light. Up the street from the Nissan dealer was a Infiniti dealer. I decided to test drive the QX80. OMG!!! Nice all the way around. The drive to me was better than the Armada. The styling inside and out just outshined the Armada. The sound system was really nice. Big difference to me. I have to agree with the backup camera not being as good as it could be; but everything else was nice. I was in heaven. Definitely my next vehicle. Never thought I would pay $90k for a vehicle but it was between the Armada and the QX80. The QX80 spoke to my soul and it will be mine.

Too small

Not a bad vehicle if you have a family of 4. Anyone that has to sit in the back gets their knees in their face because the seats are too low and there is zero leg room. And the cargo space is literally half the size of a minivan. We have a 2018 ford focus st and the trunk is a lot bigger in that. This is anything but a "full size" suv.
