My Wife Loves it but-----

Fancy Datsun , 09/05/2021
2019 INFINITI QX60 PURE 4dr SUV AWD (3.5L 6cyl CVT)
44 of 44 people found this review helpful

The wife loves it but there are a few things to consider before buying a 2019. If you do any routine maintenance yourself this is not the car for you. Simple things on other cars like changing a filter are complicated and difficult by design. For example, the cabin air filter which is usually easy is located under panels. You have to remove the panels on the passenger side of the dog box then blindly stick your hand in there and fight to get it in and out. It is the only vehicle that I have ever had that even makes if tricky to check your own oil. If you do everything at the dealer you need to know that it is not service friendly. Like most modern cars it has synthetic oil. There are many benefits to synthetic oil like extended interval times on oil changes. Not on this. The book says 5000-7500 miles that is OK for synthetic blends but not for synthetic. Just a waste. The dealer insists on oil changes every 3000 miles. That is the norm for standard oil. When I mentioned that the advisor he said OK 5000 would be OK. Not OK as synthetics are typically changed every 10,000 miles. Feels set up to help the dealer make money that they shouldn't on maintenance. Also, it lacks basic features that you would find on most cars but expect on a luxury car. There is no digital speedometer, old school needle and gauge. No tire monitoring system. You would have to check the air in your tires with a gauge. There is an alert that comes on when a tire is low. It is noisy with pronounced road noise that you would expect in a budget car. So what I like about this car. Very impressive turning radius. It turns on a dime. It is comfortable. Some people might not like this but I do---the Pure model has faux (fake) leather for the seats. I noticed that after a year they are perfect with no wear, creases of marks. High quality vinyl that holds up well with kids, car seats and food everywhere. When driving at night there are some neat little lights in the cab that light up important areas like the drink holders and phone storage area. The charger in the phone storage area has a charging port that does not hook up to the radio so it does not turn off whatever is on. Lastly, a big factor for this purchase is the tremendous depreciation. We bought it 1 year of with 14K miles for $29K. The new ones of the same year had a sticker of $49K. So you save a whole lot when it is used but still feels new. My wife really loves it. I have not mentioned the things to her that I do not like as in the long run they don't matter. It is a good value used. It is a fancy Pathfinder so you get Nissan quality with a little ginger. It handles great in the snow we have AWD. Cannot be compared to other cars in its class like a Lexus or BMW. A good buy used due to the depreciation. I hope that they reviews helps someone decide. And------it looks good!

If you don't own a smartphone, it's a good car

Xanekka, 11/30/2018
2019 INFINITI QX60 PURE 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl CVT)
107 of 113 people found this review helpful

It's a good and spacious car. I like it as a thing that carries me from point A to B comfortably. The problem is I own a smartphone. I want to listen to podcasts when I drive. And the audio keeps cutting off. (It has a non-navi system to those who are interested.) My dealership people were nice, so I went to them to investigate this Bluetooth problem. Here's what I learned. Infiniti does NOT support all the Bluetooth profiles and it does not support all the phones. Which is weird because Bluetooth is a standard and it's supposed to solve that problem. The solution that they recommended was to use a 3.5mm audio cable. Tough luck for me because the two phones that I own are Pixel 2 XL and iPhone 7 Plus. Neither have a headphone jack. So, the dealership recommended that I call the Infiniti Consumer Affairs. They troubleshoot me through a process which resulted in "you are using unsupported phones" for audio streaming? Okay, it's Nov 2018. One of my phones is a year old and the other two years. I like the car enough and I am already stuck in a lease, I might as well upgrade my phone, I thought. So, I asked the nice lady from the Infiniti Consumer Affairs, I am going to get a new phone. Please tell me which phone to get. I am open to switching carriers too. She was kind enough to go through the list for me. Let's start with Apple: iPhone XS (not supported), iPhone XS Max (not supported), iPhone XR (not supported), iPhone 8 (not supported), iPhone 8 Plus (not supported). Now, Google. None of the Pixel phones are supported. Next, Samsung. Note 9 (not supported), S9+ (not supported), S9 (not supported), S8+ (not supported), S8 (not supported). At that point, the poor lady from Infiniti Consumer Affairs gave up, rightly so and told me that I would get a call from the Infiniti Bluetooth division, which I haven't heard from yet! So, right now, I am driving around in a $46,000 "luxury" vehicle with technology from 2003. Again, it's a good car with a serious technology problem.

Comfort over sport

2019 INFINITI QX60 LUXE 4dr SUV AWD (3.5L 6cyl CVT)

Make sure you drive the vehicle at night, because the surround camera view does NOT employ the use of the lighted entry features offered with luxury options. In other words, the side looking cameras can't see anything at night and are completely blind unless there is a significant external light source where you're parking. Vehicle entry is also "old school" even though the car illuminates nicely when you approach, you're still required to press a button to unlock doors, which is not the case in the lower model QX50 which automatically unlocks when you grab the handle. Also, the radio doesn't stay on when engine is turned off, unlike the lesser model QX50, it violently shuts everything off, and there is no way for you to go directly from running to Accessory mode. Infiniti advertises the Sensory package supports Dolby Digital 5.1 ("decoding"), but the stereo manufacturer (Bose) confirmed that this is false and an oversight by marketing, for that feature was removed back in 2017 in favor of a more "entire cabin friendly" surround solution. There are features that allow you to select a "driver centric" auditory configuration, but this falls way short of true surround as one might experience from the Bose Panaray system in other vehicles. Finally, make sure the dealer demonstrates everything in your potential purchase as there are audio and video AUX features that may, or may not work as advertised.

I had a 2016 Infiniti QX60 and recently bought the 2019 Infiniti QX60 Luxe and love it! My only issue with the car is when it gets cold, the windows sometimes don’t roll back up because the motor is too cold.

There is a reason that Consumer Reports just rated the Infiniti QX 60 in the top three of luxury three row SUVs! We have now had our 2019 white Infiniti QX60 for two years and have driven it through deep snow in the Sierras for two weeks as well as been on dirt roads in the desert. AWD is fabulous...I tried but could not break the wheels loose in snow. The AWD is intuitive and the best we have ever uses for an SUV. I also researched Audi Q7, MB, Porsche SUVs too, and the QX 60 plush seats, great NAV, ease of controls, and driver assist is every bit as good as any manufacturer...but at $10k less! We have had it loaded with skis, luggage, beer, food, and our dog and it still got 26 MPG on a freeway trip. This SUV ride is just as luxurious as my neighbors $90K Range Rover, on and off road. Not only that, I can get my ten foot surfboard inside the car with the nose on the dash. Hilarious, right? The audio system is the best we’ve ever owned, transmission is outstanding and this QX60 has no problem passing cars at 90 mph. It feels like going 50! On top of all of the great features...Infiniti offers 4 yr 60K miles...the best of any company, too. Lastly our last car was a 2016 Acura MDX and this Infiniti QX60 is better in multiple ways even though the Acura was great. Lastly, I think Edmunds is a great resource, but with caveats. Consumer Reports is the same. They rate cars by multiple factors...but don’t always address depreciation...which is a big factor. Here is an example: Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne, MB SUV all depreciate between $10K and $15 k in the first year alone. In 2018 my friend bought a 2017 Audi Q7 with 20K miles on it for $53K. That car sold new for $68k. That is a big hit on the original owner if one does the math. And Range Rover? Are you kidding? That $85K SUV can lose $35 k in two years in depreciation.

Perfect Family Vehicle

I think this is one of the best 3 rows SUV available today in terms of price/value, performance, comfort, style, safety, and technology. Maybe It doesn’t score any A+ in every Category but pretty much get an solid A- or B+ on each so it’s a very well around vehicle. Never a fan of any of the CVTs but at least I don’t hate it on the QX60. Yes, the suspension is a bit too soft but no one would take a 3 rows suv for any spirit driving. And the value here is just unbeatable. Q7 and xc90 are better cars but cost $15-20k more similarly equipped.

This car is whisper quiet, plush on the inside and has a big car feel. Steering feedback is excellent, handling isn’t nimble but is good. Controls are functional (including the navigation), and easy to use.Very comfortable and suited for expressway driving. Roomy, open feeling and carries more cargo than many competitors.

Brake issues and transmission problems

I don’t know if I’m the only one with what I feel is premature brake wear. I bought a 2019 QX60 pure and at around 24000 km was told the rear breaks needed to be replaced at 43000 I have to replace all four rotors and pads front and back. Most of my driving is highway so not using brakes a lot and feel that they should have lasted a lot longer. Also just recently at just over 43000kms the transmission cooler and lines started to leak and had to be replaced. Vehicle in the shop for a week waiting for parts did provide me with a loaner but really not impressed if it hadn’t been noticed by fluid leak in my driveway it may have meant the whole transmission may have went. Fortunately it was still under warranty, not sure if I would buy again

Infiniti removed “avoid highways” in navigation

This feature might seem insignificant to people who don’t mind highways, but for many, this is a very important feature that ALL navigation software has. Prior to 2018, the Infiniti navigation had it. Why would a car company REMOVE a feature? Poor choice.

VERY Little Heat in our 2017 QX 60

Took it to the dealer several times and the answer I get is it's an "known problem with flow and they don't have a fix for it". I live in Canada and to have a car without the proper heat is ridiculous. Had a 1974 car as my first and it had plenty of heat.

All-Around Gem Family Vehicle!

In 2020, we bought a 2019.5 model as a CPO vehicle. My wife picked the car as it checked all of her boxes, primarily including comfortable ride, safety features, and tremendous practicality to haul people and/or cargo thanks to three rows. The car has been fantastic with no issues and just routine maintenance. Acceleration is excellent and the CVT performs seamlessly to date. We are hoping for many more trouble free miles as this car is beautiful and well-executed, as well as comfortable to drive long distance, solidly built, and able to carry everything you need. An all around perfect family vehicle and a sound value proposition (we bought a Luxe with safety and luxury packages). Some of the negative reviews appear to be for other model years?

I bought it cash, after about a week it just didn't feel right when I drove it and a lot of smoke came from the tailpipe. It just didn't drive correctly, after a month I had the oil changed no issues. It still didn't feel like any car I had driven before. While driving to work my engine light came on I pulled over and had it towed immediately to a Infinity Dealer (not the one I bought it at). They said I needed a new engine ? are you serious. And they would not honor the extended warranty I purchased. I had it towed out and brought to the dealer I purchased it at. They said they would honor the warranty. They said the oil had sludge in it. They would clean it so they cleaned it 3 times and drove it a few times. After 9 wks of going back and forth they kept saying they were working on it. I requested a Full refund on my car and the warranty. I got the Check Yesterday ! BUT I am trying another QX60 but buying it at a New dealership with Extended warranty.

The craftsmanship of this vehicle is subpar. The pleather interior makes you sweat even in the winter. The interior carpeted area is coming apart after a year. You cannot fit your hand into the cubby to plug in in your charger to the usb unless you have kids hands. The interior is not comforting. The vehicle handles poorly making it easy to oversteer and get into an accident. In addition the auto systems often have braking failures where it’ll cause hard braking on the Highway. Paint is good. Motor and transmission are fine. The vehicle goes through brakes very quickly which has been a big issue. Overall, it’s not a good vehicle to own.

I am extremely disappointed in the new 2019 QX60 I am leasing from Infiniti. It's a piece of junk! Nothing but problems and I haven't even had it 6 months. I thought I was going up in quality by moving up from the Nissan Muranos I had for so many years and loved. Nope! Leasing the QX60 was the worst decision I've ever made. I never had as many problems with the Muranos as I do this QX60. How can they charge so much more for something so much worse? Now I have to somehow find time and money to drive the 5 hours to my nearest Infiniti dealer so he can look at the condensation in my headlight and "see" if it will be covered by warranty. I have had 4 Murano's in the past 10 years. None ever had that problem. This QX60 features don't even come close to the features of my last 2 Murano's. I can't wait till I get rid of this sorry "luxury" car and go back to a Murano or even Pathfinder.

Great car, easy to use, and fun to drive

I leased my car from Herb Chambers Infiniti of Boston. Working with Kashif Sheikh was easy, straightforward, and got us into the right car quickly. He was very responsive to all of our questions, regardless of channel (i.e., email, phone, etc.), and was able to identify a great number of options that met our needs. In the end, he was able to get us into a car that made sense for our family, worked with us to get a fair price, and the overall turnaround time was incredibly fast. Great experience! The car itself has been really terrific for our family. It is large enough for a family of four but still feels sporty on the road.

Infiniti will not back up their product. I have a 2019 QX 60 with a Navi that is totally inaccurate. I have been sent to the software company because Infiniti does not support the program. The software company said it is an issue for Infiniti. The dealership just told me I would have to wait for the 2021 QX 60 to get a model that works correctly. Beware of Infiniti and Infiniti of Apex NC. The service department is second to none but the front of the house does not care and what happens after the sale.

Good mileage for a large SUV. We bought the LUXE, which has all the bells and whistles, especially safety features. Everything but auto park. But, the seats are like concrete. Not comfortable. And the interior instrument panels are old generation lay outs. No digital odometer. Status screen between tachometer and odometer miniscule and hard to see. Lots of storage room with 3rd row seats folded. Next to impossible to get to 3rd road seats and for children, not adults. Car handle beautfifully. Mileage is as advertised. Original tires wore out at 24,000 miles. We only drive it 7500 miles a year. Replaced tires with Michelins. Much improved ride and handling. Tailgate seal keeps popping out LH side. Multiple paint chips from car wash. Drivers side window slow to open and close. Dealer lubricated it with WD40. Worked for awhile. Doing it again. Have now lubricated window track 3 times. Slowing up again. On road with new tires, 30mpg.

Just had a flat tire on the right front. Guess what ? The jack cannot be placed as shown in the hand book with optional running boards installed; not enough clearance !!!. Had to move the jack 3-4 inches forward of the two notches in the frame member in order to jack up the right front. This was on level asphalt in a parking lot. And, disconnecting the spare from the hoist cable is almost impossible !!!. Glad that it was a nice sunny day and not pouring down rain at night. Otherwise we like the car. It is our 5th infinity in 15 years.

This is second time I had issue with driver side window would not close when temperature drops to -15c. I had to take to the shop for repair. And lower area heating is not hot as any other cars that I have driven. They said, that’s how they designed????
