Amazing Longevity! V6 Automatic
Bought my '97 Infiniti I30 in 2000 with 30K miles on it. It is now 4/2012 and I'm at 363,000. In mid-atlantic (USA) weather. It has only needed regular maintenance. The largest repair bill I've ever had was just under $2K (ball joints-control arms). But that was well past the 250,000 mile mark. And they do eventually have to be replaced :-) It still runs great. And the leather seats are still very comfy, show very little wear and are quite supportive. It has been incredibly solid. Love this car! I think the fact that it has a timing chain instead of a belt really helped it's longevity. The V6 and transmission in this car are incredible!
About to turn 200,000 and ready for more
I bought this car used 7 years ago, and it has been the most reliable car I have ever owned. I am about to turn 200,000 miles and the only maintenance besides oil changes has been replacing struts and brakes. Runs like new and has the smoothest ride of any vehicle I have owned. I would like a newer car but I am not ready to give up my i30 yet.

Darn good car.
Car had 35,000 miles on it when we bought it. We have driven this to Fla. for the past few years and got 31 mpg. Great ride. With 135,000 miles on it we are concerned about that long ride again. Hate to part with it. Best car I ever owned. No major repairs. Great acceleration and great Bose system.
Very Solid Car
-great bose sound system -very comfy leather seats -power seats for both driver and passenger seat, nice luxury touch -very good fuel economy, I get 24-25 with soley city driving because i"m a kid -although I dont drive like one, but i did one time, the only time my parents paid for a tank of gas, i got 19-20 mpg by beating on the car -it takes premium fuel, i dont put it in and still get stellar gas mileage, i dont recommend it though, you will get better gas mileage if you do put premium and is the engine is much happier, you can hear her hum more smoothly, better performance, ^^btw all of this info is in owners manual(when referring to the fuel type needed)
1997 Infiniti
As a new vehicle I put over 150,000 miles on it. No work was ever done on the engine, except for normal maintenance. Every option still works, as it did when brand new.
The Best Used Luxury Car
I bought my I30 with 72k and just over a year later I have 106k. With a day- to-day driving and vacations this car is a true work horse. I have had two issues with the car was an emissions issue I had while registering the car in DC that set me back $900, and I had to replace the blower motor. Since the car was an Arizona car that doesn't surprise me too much. For a luxury sedan it gets respectable MPG, and on a cross country trip I got 30 MPG out of a few tanks. I also have a 3 year old girl and with a roomy back seat it's easy to get her in and out.
Great Luxury Car
I bought my 97 I30 in 2000 with 38k miles on it. Now in 2007 I have 125K miles on it. Durring that time I have had absolutely no problems. The engine is just as quiet as the first day I drove it. No interior rattles or squeaks. I would like to buy a newer vehicle but I can't see trading in such a reliable automobile for another. Maybe the engine will finally give out at 200k so I can get a new car.
Reliability at its best!
This is my second I30, last one was running fine at 140k. I now have 155k on my 97 I30, it runs as if it was new. Car is not as peppy as most people say, takes about 9-10 seconds to get to 60 mph. Handling is disappointingly spongey, stiffer suspension would be great. Since owning the car I have replaced the radiator, brakes, egr valve, knock sensor, the spark plugs and front struts. Engine and tranny still feel like new! If you are looking for a comfortable decent looking commuter car, than look no further!
I-30 Great car
Owned vehicle for 2 years. Bought because of Infiniti record on reliability and it has lived up to its record! Not one problem. Lots of power, plenty of interior room. Best car I've ever owned.
Luxury and Performance for a low price
Got this car about a couple years ago, and other than the oil change never had to do anything else. At 100k miles it still runs is quiet, and is in great condition mechanically and body condition. I think this is the best family car with a great sporty feel for that money. The 3 litre v6 gives you a powerful yet pleasant ride. I love the way i can take off from stop lights.
great car, great value
I am the original owner of this 97' I- 30. Not only was the car a great preformer but the Infinity experience was also excellenct. After 147,000 miles of driving this automobile, I recommend it highly. This car is as reliable a car as I would ever expect. A very good automobile.
Most reliable car I ever owned
The technical features of the V-6 engine brought me to test drive and I not only bought one but another Infiniti (I35) in 2002. These are great automobiles at very competitive prices. Have 107,000 miles and literally no engine work. Did have to replace the rear left brake caliper which was running hot.
Playing it Safe but good!
The 1997 Infiniti I30 is for the person looking for a safe bet. The looks aren't aggressive and the maintenance is INEXPENSIVE. There isn't a timing belt to worry about snapping on you as in other fine Japanese cars. This runs on a timing chain. The spark plugs are EASY to replace VS other Japanese cars where you have to remove the top intake. The car's gas mileage isn't close to what Edmunds shows on the specs, it's a lot higher! Try 25 to 28 mpg! SMOOTH ride, like you're in a Lincoln. Powerful V6 to get you through traffic. Great car if taken care of.
Worry free!
This is the second I30 I have bought used. It was dealer-certified, so I got a 100,000 mile warranty. I have had no problems with the car in 3 years of ownership. The cost of ownership is LOW because Infiniti builds such a dependable car. This has to be the best car for the price - buy one 3 years old and you can drive it worry-free under warranty for 4 years
strong vehicle
Great riding and handling car. Keeping this car and trading in a 2002 car from another manufacturer.
Reliable & Fun to Drive
I like the feel of cars that are relatively light (less than 3500lbs) with plenty of power that handle well but are not gas guzzlers. The I30T fits these parameters perfectly at 3000lbs. with plenty of torque and good handling. Everything on this car is understressed due to its weight - tires, brakes, engine and transmission. AM
I love my I30T
This car has a large feel to it, yet it looks and handles like a sports car. It is a great blend of power, performance, and quality.
Most Valuable Car
I think I30 is the most valuable car. I bought used one and for small price you can get so many standard features: leather interior, best audio system, very reliable vehicle, large interior space including space available on the rear seats and trunk. I was looking for a car for a family and this is the one. One thing that this car is missing is "more horses under the hood". Also sometimes on speed higher then 65 mph and in strong wind conditions it is noticeable influence of the air on the car: noise, drag, etc. For a regular car this influence would be Ok but for a luxury I30 I think it is not acceptable.
Sporty family car
Own the car for 6 months. Love driving it. Had thought about a Miata, but with the kids, decided to go with something more practical. Now I can haul the kids around and still have fun driving. Comfortable and lots of features.
Great Ride
This is a great luxury car for the money. It has all the bells and whistles of a luxury vehicle while maintaining a sporty feel with the 190 hp V6. The car is reliable and fun to driive. The audio sysem and leather seats make for an extremely comfortable ride. I highly recomend this car for someone who is looking for a good, reliable luxury car with great performance.
Great & affordable luxury sedan
Sophistication and performance all in one. Rated one of the best V6 engines in its class, which I can vouch for! I have had this car for a little over seven years and not one problem. With its classy looks inside and out, you wont be disappointed with your purchase. I plan to keep mine for several more years but in the end, I'm sure I'll be sad to see it go.
I love my Infiniti
Bought my car in May '05 with 50k miles on it. I have become a Japanese car convert. This car has been almost bulletproof. I now have 140k miles on it. I had to replace the alternator a couple of years ago, but that's the only mechanical defect. Otherwise it still runs like new. If this was a Buick or Oldsmobile it would be on the junk heap by now.
Great Car!
Bought this off lease and drove it for 3 years before giving it to my daughter -- who wanted it from the time I brought it home. It is a GREAT car. Bought another (2000) and the 97 actually rides better. Wish Infiniti had not dropped this car because it is a fantastic bargain and, aside from minor problems at 100k miles, inexpensive to maintain. Daughter's boyfriend wants to buy now that he's graduated from college.
NICE CAR, FUN TO DRIVE
We love the car at the first sight. It is a good deal with so many luxury features at a relatively low price. The driving experience is wonderful. The speakers are great. This is our first time owning a Inifiniti car. We are looking to buying another one in the future.
Great Car
I bought this car in May 2003 with 101,000 mile on it. The engine and transmission have been flawless. This car is quiet and takes the harshness out of bumps in the road. It is also much faster than I expected in a 3.0L V6 with high mileage. I had a $600 emissions problem shortly after buying the car, but have had NO problems since. Small price to pay given how affordable this car was to buy.
97 I30
This has been the best car I have ever owned. I have had it for 7 years and literally have only had to do routine maintenance on the car. Reliability plus. Car has 115K on it now and I would not hesitate to take it on a long trip.
Original Owner
I bought the car brand new in 1996. Few problems over the life of the car. Brakes squeak and can't find the cause. Paint has started to peel on the bumpers but it is 11 yrs old and not garaged. Rear door doesn't want to open sometimes with the keychain.
Outstanding car to own.
I purchased the I30 off lease in February 2000 with approximately 28000 miles. It now has 134000 and is still, praise the lord, running well. So far only minor problems dealing with general upkeep. The car remains solid and fun to drive with no noticible rattles. We were going to trade it in recently when we purchased a new vehicle, however I couldn't bring myself to part with it! It's a great automobile.
Infiniti I30
Excellent road car, with comfortable ride, nice sound system. Durable, with little to go wrong. Big engine has power to spare, but is rarely needed, due to smooth acceleration.
I30 HJ
Have had the vehicle for 3 years with no problems.
1997 I30 Review
Bought my I30 in 2000 with 39K miles. I have 130K miles now. Normal maintenance except replaced the starter and altenator. Runs like new with no rattles and very little engine noise. Very good power and highway cruising. Light weight (3100 lbs) and great turning radius (34) for this size car. Paint holding up well looks new. Terrific Bose sound system. About 25 mpg. Fun to drive on short and long trips, starts every time. The only negative is having to use premium gas. I would like a newer car but I just cant trade in this wonderful automobile." Probably drive it another 100k.
Best car I've ever owned !!
I have the rare touring with BBS rims. I live in a large city and haven't seen another like it. 194k and still perrrrs!.. found every excuse in the world to sell it, but just can't. Will drive until the wheels fall off. Hurray for Infiniti.

WOW THIS VEHICLE REALLY GOT ME FIVE SENSES GOING.....EVERY OPTION KNOWN PLUS AN UNBEATBLE PRICE ,GREAT HOURSE POWER .AFTER MY FIRST ONE GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT (NOT MY FAULT) BY A DODGE RAM IT HELD UP AN PROTECTED ME WELL WITHOUT A SCRATCH ,SO ITS ONLY NATURAL THAT I BUY ANOTHER ONE .
Omg this car :(
This car was forced upon me, it was like bad news from the jump. This is my very first car with terrible issues , yes all the issues are fixable but very pricey. I'm still in school, I can afford to fix a car that like to have a domino affect with its issues. What I can say is if this car started with me in a good condition I would be more loving of this car. I love how aggressive it is, and it picks up speed. It held up when I hit a pole, I had a family fix as much as he can but I'm just tired of it.

HIDDEN POTENTIAL
I WAS REALLY SURPRISED WHEN I FIRST TEST DROVE THE INFINITI I30. IT DIDN'T LOOK TOO SPORTY BUT IT WAS PRETTY FAST. IT WAS A LOT QUICKER AND MORE RESPONSIVE THAN THE MAZDA MILLENIA S WHICH I WAS ORIGINALLY LOOKING TO PURCHASE. I HAVE HAD THE I30 FOR ABOUT TWO YEARS NOW AND IT HAS NEVER GIVEN ME ANY PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER. IBOUGHT THE CAR WITH 40K MILES AND NOW IT HAS 60K MILES. I HAVE ALSO SPENT A GREAT DEAL OF MONEY AND TIME ON UPGRADING THINGS
My Besy Car
I owned it from past 6 months. Its a great i ever had. I thought of going for Sports car, because of speeding ticket i didn't go. But I30 i drive like sports car. Superb Pick up and handling. I never had any problems. i changed my rear shocks after 90,000 miles. very good sound system where as u can drive for long distances too..
