Reliable luxury, roomy, and fun.
I have had two '96 I-30t's. Got the first one with 45k miles on it. Five speed transmission. I drove that one to 132k miles. At one point, a transaxle pulled out of the transmission with no warning. No other problems other than a knock sensor replacement and the speedo stopped working because of something in the transmission. First car was totaled (but the car kept me safe, accident not my fault). I found another black '96 five speed 500 miles away, flew there to get it. That's how much I like this model. At 160k miles, new clutch and clutch cylinders, CD player kaput, plus the CV boots and transaxles had to be replaced. Giving this car to my daughter soon.
Sport & Luxury
I have had my car ('96 I30) for less than a year. When I bought it, it had approximately 83k miles on it, and now just hit over 100k. It was under warranty until 100k, and has had the starter, and an automatic window belt, replaced while I have had it. But the car is an amazing combo of sport and luxury, and to me, drives like it is new. It also looks pretty new, and people always think it has many fewer miles when they drive in it.
It just keeps going
I bought the I30T new, it now has 180,000+ trouble free miles and continues to be problem free. The only repair was a starter at 170,000 mi, just oil changes, tires & brakes, etc. I personally replaced plugs at 100k mi. When will it quit? based on current performance it should continue to run for another 50,000 -100,000 mi, maybe more. GREAT CAR!
Infiniti review 2008
I enjoy this car because it is low maintenance. I feel it is safe for my 8 year old and the ride is smooth.
Can't Go Wrong
This car continues to turn heads, even though it's now a 6-year old model. It has a classy, timeless look that won't fade with the next new "thing" out of Detroit. I bought it used, fell in love with it immediately, and my affection hasn't waned over the past year. The price of a new Hyundai or other econobox was comparable to what I paid for this car--a no brainer, in my opinion.
