Greatest Value
This car gives you truely great value with its price. It is one of the best handling car man ever made.
Best Car Ever!
I bought this car used in 1993 with 17,000 on it and it now has 159,314. Aside from new CV boots, power antennae, starter and alternator, with regular maintenance, this car has been FANTASTIC! Drives like a dream! I agree with previous review about cup holders- needs some. Pearl white paint has held up nicely and still looks like a new car when waxed. I'd like a newer car, but it runs and looks SO GOOD, I hate to part with it!
Wish they made them new!
I purchased this car with 120k on it. I put roughly 25k on it while I owned it. Would have it MUCH longer, but fate wouldn't allow it. I was rear ended earlier this year...TOTALED! Very underrated, sporty, nimble car. Fantastic build quality, especially during the wreck (hit while @ a dead stop, by a car going 55mph). No injuries other than whiplash, thanks to crumple zones. Wish I could find another one!
most of the fun, none of the headaches
I have driven this car for it's existence and the build quality and reliability never cease to amaze me..quite literally could not be better in those categories....a little more power would be appreciated, especially since the slush box seems indecisive (except on full throttle upshifts which it handles with authority at redline)...very refined handling which was improved further by the addition of a set of Yokohama AVID H4's in the same size as the originals...razor sharp turn in with little noise
Great value
I had this car since 2001. I bought this car with 113,000 miles on it now it has 203,000. I had to do some maintenance on it through out the years but nothing major. Replaced rotors starter and the alternator. Overall I dont think there is a more reliable car out there. I drive a 5 speed and never had a problem. The car has a timeless design, people dont believe that its a 92. I want to buy a new car but this one is still going strong. The interior doesn't look like new anymore but I dont want to make those monthly payments. Performance is awesome. How many cars this old can do 100 miles per hour on the highway and not fall apart. Yes it can go this fast and feel steady.
Infiniti G20
Very fun car to drive, excellent handling, still has zip after 150000 miles.
Good every-day car
Few, if any problems, excellent reliable driver, a bit expensive to fix. Not very spirited or fun to drive, but gets you from point A to point B in relative comfort.
Forget the Civic... I did!
I used to a 1999 Honda Civic. Then I got wise and picked up a used 1995 Infiniti G20. This car is literally within 10ths of an inch of the size of my Civic, with more hip and shoulder room. After driving a car that was slow and frugal it is great to get similar gas mileage in a car that does not scream 'I just graduated... high school.' All I'm sayin' is that the Civic never handled as well, reached 60 as fast with 3 passengers or stayed as comfortable after 13 hours of driving the way my G20 does. This car rocks.
10 years and still goin'
I purchased a USED '91 Infiniti G20 in December of '93 and have been driving it ever since. I now have 148,000 miles on the car. The driver's side window motor died a long time ago and cost $500 to fix at the Infiniti dealer. The started died this past week and cost $400 to repair. Those are my only unscheduled repairs in almost 10 years. This car has proven to be highly reliable.
Great gas saver for trips
The car now has 220,865 miles on it and still runs like new. Does not burn or leak any oil. The thing I don't like is the automatic shoulder belt that was used during those years. I find it very irritating. Other than that, the vehicle is fun to drive; plenty of power and holds the road nicely.
91&92 G20
1992 has 66,000 miles on it and has been very reliable. It has been in the family since new. Overall a very good car. 1991 - Have had it for two years and it has about 152,000 miles on it. It is in amazingly good shape for the miles and does not drive very different than the low mileage 1992. The paint, blue, is in very good condition on both vehicles. Everything works though the power windows are too slow when wet. The only problem I have had is with the resistor that is used to reduce fan speed. It is very nice to have the ABS brakes.
Fun drive
Great car. In the short time ive owned it(2yrs) the only thing that has needed replacing were the tires. Loads of fun.
Commentary information on1992InfinitiG20
I bought from a one owner with 157,000 miles, all original, maintenance records etc from Dana Point, Southern California, and drove it to my home in Clovis, California....I have now 167,000 miles and still runs extremely well. I am a student and on weekends drive it to the bay area.
gotta Love this car
nice spory luxury sedan, The body style is attractive, interior is very nice wood triming and leather seats (although they will crack and tear if not cared for)gives it that nice up- scale feel The suspension is nearly flawless bending curves with speed is not a problem for the G20. 140 horsepower Twin-cam 16 valve engine delevers a pretty nice kick.
Sure Bet
I have had my G20 for a few months now and all though there is nothing overly impressive about it , you cant forget the reliability of the car its not a car that turns heads, But it however does grant a sense of security for the owner to know the maintenance will be cheap and there will be little to maintain
so far so good
I love the handling, although some may find it quite stiff. The engine is spirited if you will give it some RPM. It has a tendency to fall down @ 4500 RPM in warm weather, a cold-air intake upgrade should fix it. The styling is understated but quite nice, but not real showy. 5 Speed mileage is superb; I've been getting 33+
Infinit/Nissan is the best
Bought the car for $700 and it runs great. Interior quality is one of the best I have seen (better than some newer car I have driven). Road/Wind noise is minimal. A/C is extremly cold, heat is exellent. Interior is still entact nothing is broken or loose. Exterior has no dents and paint still shines. Car is better than my 1991 Toyota Camry which has about the same amount of miles but is falling apart (interior buttons etc.)
No more G20
Its been downhill ever since I bought this car. Most likely the dealership sold me this car with a broken ac compressor, its been fixed three times and is currently broken. At 100,000 miles the car fell apart. I fixed the key ignition, alternator, battery, brake lights, sunroof motor, window motor, gear shift, and air conditioner. Latley the transmission is going out and the car will not go over 2500 rpm. The car looks well for being a '92 and is fun to drive when it was working. However, it didn't work very often.
Fun car to drive
I purchased this car used, with about 80,000 miles on it. This car could go to over 75mph in 2nd, and over 100mph in third, and on the curves it felt as if was glued to the road. However, at 170,000 the tranmision went. That is that. The ABS work great, especially in the crappy winters in New England, so far I never gut stock in the snow. Was rear ended, hit a dear, however after repairs, it just kept going. Would buy this kind of car again in a heartbeat. If you have one, enjoy it. I was very happy with it, and once I donate it next week (05/03), will miss it. Victor C.
Best car I've ever had
My father got this car from a neighbor at 140k and rebuilt the engine (he was a mechanic). The car now has 205k on it and it's still running strong. The automatic transmission just gave us some trouble with shifting, but after flushing it the problem has stopped. This car handles better than any other I've ever driven, and with an sr20 (despite being stock) it hauls. I wouldn't really romp on it anymore seeing as it's over 200k. It's low to the ground, but handles pretty well in the snow, although the back end is a little on the light side. I would love to buy another, and wish they still made this specific model. The closest thing is probably Nissans' Sentra model.
