2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Consumer Reviews

Doesn’t fit my wife 😀
Really liked this car, but the headroom is insufficient (with a sunroof) for my spouse, who because of a bad back, needs to sit on a cushion with the seat in its highest position. Why not get a trim w/o sunroof? She needs to be able to raise the passenger seat when I’m driving, and only the top trims w/ sunroof have a power passenger seat with height adjustment. So we will have to look elsewhere, which is too bad. By the way, we both liked the driving characteristics of the regular hybrid over the PHEV, which is heavier and less nimble.
Not the mileage they list
I like so many things about my 2024 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Limited. My favorite feature is the backup camera which shows an overhead view of the area and is quite amazing. However, the down side is the mileage. The sticker says 37 mpg and is one of the reasons I decided on this vehicle. In the 7 months I've owned it I'm averaging 28-29 mpg. I've had it checked out and nothing is wrong. Neither the dealer nor Hyundai customer service can/will do anything about it as their diagnostics say nothing is wrong. Don't bother to pay the extra for a hybrid when the mileage is no better than a non-hybrid.

Disappointing - Mediocre
Not a satisfied owner. It is only an average ride - and not overly fun to drive like past vehicles I have owned. Plain and simple - it's a practical car. That's it. No excitement. Great for grandmas to drive to the store in the winter, beyond that very mediocre. Driving: It feels like I am driving a tall closet on a golf cart chassis. It does not ride smooth either - can feel every bump. I anticipated more power from a hybrid, but it is just not there with the Tucson. Pickup is ok, but it doesn't have the oomph like other hybrids I have driven (thank you Toyota). The power for the hybrid is not there. While the car runs fairly quiet, the outside noise while driving is louder than what I would like. The 38 MPG claim is bogus. I am not clearing 30 MPG even on freeway. I did a 300 mile all freeway drive and only got 26 MPG. Safety features are ok. The lane assist works well. Warnings for lane change and back up, etc. are all on par and meet expectations. Interior is .... eh. The front seat is tight. Options for interior on the Blue are disappointing. Exterior is nice - like the color selections. I went with a Deep Sea Blue and it sizzles. Alloy wheels are nice. The exterior is the only redeeming quality for me. Again, it's a great car for grandmothers! I have several annoyances with the vehicle. #1 - the fake "hovering" sound when in full electric mode is too loud and annoying. And the back up beeps are worse. Both sounds are so loud. I don't need the entire street alerted every time I back out of my driveway. There is no way to deactivate those in the system, and the only way I've read to disable is to disconnect the wire to the soundbox inside the grill. #2 - to use AppleCar Play, you need to be tethered. Yes, no wireless. You need to use a cord. Hey Hyundai, get with it - it's 2024! #3 - chlostrophobic. The front row feels way too tight. Very narrow and with the short hood, feels like you are about to tip the car over front ways. With only owning this such a short time, I am already figuring out how to dump this car and get a different one. Disappointing. Very disappointing. Steer clear and look at other SUVs.

Looks Good but no get up and go from engine!
Disappointed in the base model. Very poor acceleration and interior felt and looked cheap!
Major Disappointment/ update 2 years later
2025 update- worst purchase I’ve made in my life. MPG sucks- AC is broken and Hyundai can’t figure out how to fix it..been in and out of the shop multiple times. What an awful, awful company Hyundai is. Sound system is also terrible. Its flashy exterior and hyped gas mileage hype gives way to a clunky driving and user experience. The MPG on the hybrid is horrendous, on road trips i'm averaging 25mpg. I get around 29 around town but anytime you go over 55 mph it averages roughly 24-25 cruising with 30 second spurts of electric aid. The interior looks nice but the infotainment and push buttons are poorly thought out, the push shifter is also a major safety hazard. I see where they were going but all areas except its looks are poorly executed.
