Used 2022 Hyundai Tucson Consumer Reviews
Read reviews. Drove it. Bought it. Still happy!
A longtime Subaru owner, I did my homework before upgrading to a hybrid and a Hyundai. Read numerous reviews, repair histories, performance characteristics, and vehicle specifications. Was seriously considering the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, Honda CR-V Hybrid, and the larger Toyota Highlander Hybrid, unaware that the Tucson Hybrid was an option in this class. The Tucson Hybrid SEL has lived up to all of my expectations, e.g., handling, acceleration, traction control, ride, fuel efficiency, styling, and convenience features (though some of the touch controls are a bit too sensitive). The price-point and warranty are superior to all of the other vehicles I considered. At our 1-year anniversary and 23k miles we are still wholly satisfied with the purchase & highly recommend it to others.

What’s not there
No sunglasses holder, no fog lights and no power folding outside mirror. (Had all of these on my 2019 Soul; a $25,000 car!) Manual is 600 pages and has no detail on setting up gps. Multiple screens are not self explanatory and take weeding through to get to where you want; manual is little help. Other than that, a great car!

Do not recommend this vehicle
By far, the number one problem is that the headlights are horrible on this car. The main headlights sit low, and are underneath a protruding piece of trim. This causes a severe line between light and dark. But, even worse, because of the triangle shaped upper lights, you end up with this black "bow tie" in the middle of your field of vision. Second worst problem is the pick-up on the car. It is difficult to get it moving, and it is jerky getting started. The warning system beeps at EVERYTHING. When I am in my parking garage, it warns me of most of the posts in the garage. It goes off so much that really I just tune it out, and then when I have needed it I sometimes ignore it. I do like the lane assist, though it takes some getting used to. The car is just too darn hard to use. Too many buttons, too many screens, when you need to figure out something, you barely know where to start other than pulling over and pulling out the books. Simple things, like setting the radio stations and trying to figure out how to use the trip mileage counter take so much effort. It also does things or does not with no rhyme or reason-- sometimes it plays the song when you get into the car, sometimes not. Sometimes when I start the car, the clock is an hour behind. Sometimes when I try to use the radio, the screen is black and won't do anything. I like the fact that the car has different settings for the seat, but the mirrors don't change. So, you have to do that manually anyway. The clock appears in different locations depending on whether you are using the radio, the Bluetooth audio or Apple Car Play. When I am on my way to work, I am forever trying to figure out where to look to see what time it is. The clock is usually very small wherever it is. The radio station screen, with the old-fashioned light bulbs, is dumb looking and I would like to change it.

Love This SUV !!
This is my first SUV and I'm so pleased it's the 2022 Tucson! This is my third Hyundai, but first SUV... This vehicle does NOT disappoint... I have the Red, SEL model and it's really SNAZI!! I'm a car enthusiast, so going for an SUV was a huge stretch and it was so worth it! I added chrome trim, here & there on the exterior.... it really dressed it up. I am the only driver.... my husband has not driven in 3 yrs and has had many surgeries.... I have 2 grandkids, ages 5 & 8, so I needed a vehicle w interior space for child car seats. My husband walks w a rollator, also uses a Power Chair ....so I needed a larger cargo area... Also, cargo area had to be easily accessible.... I AM TOTALLY PLEASED W MY 2022 RED SEL HYUNDAI TUCSON... This SUV is soooo good looking... I was hoping to find an SUV w style, comfort, great handling and PIZAZZ .... and boy did I find it !!! .... This SUV is GORGEOUS.... I guess you can tell, I'm very pleased.... ABSOLUTELY!! Thank you Hyundai 💞😁🚘

First Hyundai - First Hybrid
We were luck to get one of the last Tucson’s in the lot. Sales Rep was great. Vehicle was more roomy than I expected. Lots to learn as this vehicle operates so differently than past vehicles we’ve owned. Very impressive warranty. We were amazed at how busy the dealership was. Vehicles are gone as quickly as they arrive. We went looking for a different model. They were all old out. Doubt we’ll have any regrets getting a hybrid instead. Toyota might lose all our business in the future.

Love this car!
I'm so happy with my Tucson. So much technology, I can't imagine what's down the road! It's a huge learning curve though, still reading the manual! I love that I can just push a button and see all around my car! The 360 degree cameras are amazing! It makes backing into a spot very simple.
Worst turn radius and very underpowered
Has the worst turn radius of any cars I've owned in it's class. I've owned a Forrester, Rav-4, Cherokee, CRV and Rouge. Amongst all these, the Tucson is severely underpowered especially when you're turning. When turning it almost feels like the car will stall until it finally goes into a lower gear and then it jerks you. The turn radius is the worst of any I've owned in its class. Also there is a vibration problem whenever you hit a bumpy road. It will be one of the smoothest rides but hitting a bumpy road makes the steering wheel shakes dangerously until you pull over and reset the car by turning off and on. Then it drives smooth again. Worst car I've ever bought

Ease of Entry & Comfortable Ride
Getting in and out of my Hyundai Sonata was becoming uncomfortable due to the vehicle / seat height. The Tuscon was purchased after looking at several vehicles because I found the ease of entry and exit to be excellent. The Tuscon also has a very comfortable ride both in town and on the highway.
