Much better than you think
This car is pretty good. The only problem I've had is that my front wheel bearing was shot around 80,000 miles. The dealership fixed it for free under 100,000 mile warranty. No other problems so far and I'm nearing the 100,000 mile mark. I do my own oil changes, and did my own tune-up. Paint is still excellent even though I park it outside. I did wax it a couple times. Overall, an excellent car, but not very comfortable because after a long drive, my back hurts. The only time I had to call a tow truck was when I ran out of gas. LOL.
I will never purchase another Hyundai
I presently have 67,000 miles on my car. Recently, I have had nothing but problems it. Although I have done all the scheduled maintenance on this vehicle, everything not covered under warranty is wearing out. In the last couple of months, I have had to put almost $2500 into it to keep it running. I am also being told that the clutch and the power steering are going at this point. I have taken care of the car, and not run it hard. This is my second Hyundai (my first was in the 1980's), and I thought with the warranty I was getting a better car. Not so. The drive train warranty covers only the internal engine and internal tranny parts - the dealerships don't tell you that. Buyer beware.
Great Ride
I got the tib in the summer, and its doing great, i have over 11,000 miles on it (using it to commute) and its consistantly had great milage and no performance problems. Only complaint is that there is a lot of road noise, but the stereo upgrade drowns that out. Great city car, easy to park, lots of pep when you need it.
Grins and complaints
I've had minor problems as soon as I drove it off the lot. Auto-down on the p/w didn't work, Stereo is messed up, and the power locks stopped working. All have been fixed VERY quickly and I've been very impressed with the dealer. Driving it has been fun and it corners well, but when I have a group of friends in the car to say the power is gone is an understatement. I also find the seats to be extremely uncomfortable, and I'm only 6 feet tall. Interior is nice otherwise. Watching heads turn as I drive by cars on the interstate is also a hobby of mine now.
2001 tib silver
Great car, some road noise. Drives like a sports car. Love it!
it's a SHARK
First time I saw it, I knew that this I will own it. I still test driven Civic and Sunfire, but Tiburon was the winner hands down. Awesome basic features (I have 2nd package with CD, sunroof, and stuff), as they say "zippy" engine, pretty small (good for in-city parking), more powerful than Civi will ever be, and much more comfortable and better looking that Sunfire (or Cavalier, or Saturn, or Escort). By the way, should I mention that it has a large and more powerful engine that Celica? Anyhow - if you are looking for a sporty coupe, give Tiburon a try.
Dont buy it, its not worth it!!
This being my first car was nice when I got it. There were a couple things wrong but nothing big. After I had it for 3 months it needed new tires, new headlights and new taillights. It had about 40,000 miles on it when I got it and it now has 90,000 in the time that I have had it I put around $3,000 into it. Now it needs new belts, a new transmission, a new motor for the window because it never goes up once you get it down all the way. Once you start the car it doesn't stop squeaking. I have kept up with all of the usual maintenance and gotten tune ups when needed but it still runs like crap. The tilt steering wheel takes a lot of pressure to get it to move.
dont buy a tiburon
This is the worst car I have ever bought. At 60,000 I have things that are going wrong that shouldn't be until it has 100,000 miles. Heater control knob, rear wheel bearings, emergency brake cable faulty, brakes faulty, poor high idle rpms rims leak air, took it to dealer in Heath Ohio and was told 1050.00 dollars to repair. Should have kept Nissan sentra with twice the mileage in and more dependable.
Great car
There's manifold issues, flex pipe problems in most of the cars, I spoke to several other people

won't buy another hyundia
trading my sunfire was my first mistake. paying retail was my second. the car caught my eye and had to have it but was i wrong. tires only get 20,000 miles driven politely. and are ridicously expensive. You can only put V rated tires on this car and there is no need for them. resale value is a joke after owning the car for 9 months lost $7,000 value. luckily it has the great warrantee because it needs it
Heart of a 69 road runner
Had no idea what it was. Was going to look for a small 4 door. Took it for a drive, WOW. This little car can get it on. Bought it on the spot. I'm over 6 feet and it swallows me. When I pull up to a stop I look up to everything but when it turns green all they see is tail lights. Good on long drives and in town they never see me coming but see me going. Burns rubber in 1st and 2nd. Jumps out of the hole like a rabbit on fire. I'm 67 and have owned a 69 runner with a 440. 4 speed. I am impressed. This is a keeper.
