Comfortable, great options, good dealer, sharp looking -- an eye opener on the road. Has come a long way and to boot the best warranty in the industry. I feel it's the best deal for the money around -- recommend to anyone looking for a great looking car at a good price and unbelievable warranty.

To start with it's beautiful has a V6, 5 speed automatic, Electronic Stability Control, 4 wheel disc brakes with anti-lock, traction control, Etc.,Etc. But these and the other standard features would be ho hum without the thunk when the doors close, the quality feel as you operate levers and switches, the supple ride with almost no wind noise. Then kick the V6 in the butt and the grin widens as you remember you bought all this for so little!

I have had some of the worst vehicles known to man - Intrepid,Taurus,Astro. I Really needed a car, but none really interested me until the Sonata. I knew nothing of Hyundai until I checked the web, and the reviews were outstanding. BUT when I saw it, I knew I had to have this car. The quality and attention to detail is outstanding as was the price. The interior and trunk have lots of room. We love this car, and will probably get another Hyundai for my wife. Drive one - it handles like it's on rails and pulls hard (if you get on it). The warrantee is second to none.

The car rides and handles well. I had one problem with an oil leak the first day. It seems the oil press. sender was loose. Funny click noise from the tranny when going from reverse to drive. Not sure if this is normal. Good gas mileage avg. 27-28mpg with 80% highway driving. I wonder if some of the cars with poor fuel economy have their tires inflated properly. My tires looked flat at the recomended 30 psi. So now I have them set at 36 psi. This gives me a little less rolling resistance, but the ride is a little more harsh. I am a salesman on the road most of the day. It is a nice treat to get into this car knowing the deal on price and what the car offers in comfort and highway ride.

I previously drove a V8 SUV. Loved my truck but I am in love with this car. I drive over an hour commute each way four days a week. My truck was a tank so I didn't worry about semi's and other SUV's. With this car, the speed and ease at which I am able to change gears and lanes means no worries because they can't catch me. I am big so the roomy interior and space between the steering wheel and driver seat is fantastic. A huge roomy trunk and spacious back seats means my passengers are just as comfy. Car only has single cd and no MP3 adapter so aftermarket stereo is a must. The speakers sound pretty nice and since I love all music a booming base is not necessary. Gas is pretty good!

This car has it all from heated leather seats, electronic compass, great sound system , excellent interior and faster than most cars in it's class with the aluminum V6. The gas mileage is excellent if you can keep your lead foot off of this speedy vehicle. Hyundai reminds me of the early days of Honda...the price of this Sonata is going up in the future. The quality is unsurpassed even by Honda.

The 2006 car is my fourth Hyundai and undoubtedly the best. It is also the most expensive so I expected a better ride, beter everything and it lived up to all the hype produced by Hyundai, almost. It still rattles over rough roads and lets you know it does not care much about the somewhat harsh ride over such roads by producing the noise. It handles better, is smoother shifting, and has more than enough power to get you into trouble with the law if you can afford such adventures. This car even gets a wee bit more gas milage than the others with a much bigger and more refined engine. There will probably be a fifth Hyundai someday.

Traded in a Mercury Gran Marquis to gain more gas mileage and less of the large car negotiation in tight traffic. Found the GLS Sonata to be just as roomy on the inside if not more so in the rear. Performance is wonderful. Net result, happiness with a good looking sedan at a decent price.

I've owned this car for exactly one year and have put 20000 miles on it. It is one of the most comfortable cars I have owned. I can drive for six hours and not experience any aches or pains. The car is solid. The only negative is the milage but then again I have a heavy foot. I average 28 mpg on the road and 21 in local driving. My dealer service has been wonderfull. I highly recommend this car. For price/performance, you can't beat it.

The 4 cylinder, 2.4 Sonata is a good performer, powerful enough to get me from home to work, driving on city streets or on the highway. The car is stable and quiet driving 80 mph, the brakes are superb, and in general, the many SAFETY features, like the extra air bags and curtains, ABS, Traction Control, and especially ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) make it an EXCELLENT buy. The gas mileage is very good on the highway (well over 30 mpg). It's a SEXY car. I first saw the new Sonata from behind, and fell in love with the design.... I'd say the Sonata gives you the SAME CAR as the Accord (we own one) and Camry -- and yet it has MORE SAFETY FEATURES than both -- for $3,000-$4,000 less.

My wife and I have been driving her Honda Accord since 1998, so when I bought my Sonata in March '08 used w/ 18k miles for just over $15k, I was holding my breath a little that I wasn't getting 'sucked in" to the hype. Four months and 4000 miles later, welllll???? Maybe a tad. This car has amazing power, great interior and exterior looks. Build quality doesn't come close to Honda, though. I guess it's true. You get what you pay for. The paint job is maybe the worst I've seen on any car..there's a big money saving area for Hyundai. Also, sheet metal is thin. I even have a little metal bubble on the drivers floorboard that "pops" when I push off to get out of the car. 20mpg city/30 pure hwy.

Great ride, great looks . Got a lot of compliments from others.2nd Hyundai for me.Had 2002 XG350L before this and the Sonata was supposed to be a step down in class, but it certainly is not. This is sharper, roomier and just as luxurious. Only down side the tires, would reather have a better all round seasonal tire than the performance tires they use.

This is the car I've been waiting for Hyundai to build. In 2002 my wife fell in love with a Santa Fe and I bought one for her, I thought it was ok but wasn't completely sold on it. I just bought the GLS V-6 with the 17" wheels and sunroof and couldn't be happier, The only minus I could possibly see is the stereo and no navigation option, but I'm just nitpicking at this point. If they keep making cars like this I wont buy another brand of car.

Car is now 5 days old and I still like it. I had to replaced a 93 Grand Marquis due to the high price of gas and a 110 mile a day commute. This was the best fit (at 6'1", 225 lbs) for both my budget and size. Acceleration, handling, and breaking are all terrific, although it does not take much to beat my last car. The big plus is comfort - much better gas milage and I am not hitting my head on the ceiling. Interior "usable" space is on par with the GM (I neve had more than 4 people in there anyway). Radio and climate controls are easier to reach. Trunk is also more usable (less bending over). All in all, the best compromise between size and fuel efficieny I could find.

When I went car shopping, I test drove bunch of 4 door sedans like maxima, camry, accord, and TL. All of the V6 models. Non of those cars were as quiet as Hyundai Sonata was. some of those V6 models had little bit more horsepower, but Sonata is a pretty light car and the V6 model has more than enough power to handle its business.

I knew nothing about Hyundai's before this vehicle. I have enjoyed other foreign models. This car is a joy to drive. Small enough to be economical and large enough to have a solid feel and ride. This car is very responsive when power is needed with a 3.3 L V6. There is plenty of room in front and adequate room in back. Trunk space is impressive. Stability features really smooth out the ride. I would not mind taking the car on any trip. Great sound system and plenty of comfort. I am glad I found this car and will get another if they keep manufactoring this kind of quality.

The car is an excellent value for the $. Very roomy, quiet, pleasant ride. Stands up well to other cars in category I test drove (Accord, Camry, etc.). The safety features are a major plus (ABS, ESP, airbags everywhere, childseat-ready back, etc). Good commuter car. Not super agile or fast, but more than adequate for typical driving. Plan to keep the car for many years if it holds up, as Hyundai (and their super warranty) seem to believe it will.

I changed my car from Honda Accord to Hyunai Sonata because of car accdident. I am satisfied with the car so far. It gives me a lot of power and space for the money. This car also gives me good riding and low level of noise. The most sarisfied feature is the power. You can only get 4 cylinder one from Japanese bench marks such as Accord or Camry at this price. I like the quiet interior, too. However, sometimes I miss the engine sound of my previous Honda when I was accelerating.

My only other complaint is the automatic air does not come up for the first 60 to ninty seconds. It seems longer than that in the summer heat of florida. I would recomend this car to all.

This car is a compromise between price and perfection. Unbelievably closer to perfection considering the price. In terms of the cost-savings per deveation from perfection, the Sonata shines. I adjusted the cost of the following cars for each "defect" that needed improvement(Test Drive Rating)/ (Value Rating)..VolvoS40 1/2, HyundaiSonata 2/1, HondaAccord 3/3, ToyotaCamary 4/2, MitsubishiGalant 5/4, Mazda6 5/5, FordFusion 5/5, & NissanAltima/(felt cheap). S40 had fewer deductions, cost much more. Camary cost slightly more & had a horrible door armrest, losing more points than Sonota's cruise/radio buttons on the steering wheel. Insurance savers on Sonata - etched glass & alarm - standard.

I traded my '01 Blazer for this car mainly for fuel economy. My only complaint is that Hyundai does not offer a rear spoiler and the car does not come with automatic locks. The 17" wheels offer a much stiffer ride than what I'm used to, but it's not bad. The interior seems spacious, but I think I'll have to get a smaller child's car seat for comfort of rear seat passengers.

Personally, I would not have considered purchasing a Hyundai until the current generation Sonata was released in 2006. The rave reviews it received persuaded me to give the car a chance. My, how my opinion has changed... What a wonderful vehicle! It has the silky smoothness of drivetrain of a Camry, yet is much more involving and sporty to drive. For a young family starting out, this is a perfect vehicle. Interior space is fantastic, as is the touch and feel of materials. The 4 cylinder engine provided adequate performance - the V6 was magnificent and ended up being my choice. Throw in the 10 year/ 100,000 mile warranty and it's a no-brainer - nothing else can compete in this segment!

Dual exhaust, multi cd, power sunroof, seats. 235 horsepower all aluminum V6 5 speed transmission, heated seats. You name it. It has it. I have had this car for a month now, and I average about 18 mpg, even though I do mostly highway driving. I have to fill up my tank after about 280-290 miles on an 18 gallon tank. I am now thinking I should have gone with the four cylinder, but I do not regret getting a Sonata.

I purchased the car on 4/2/06. I drove it to Florida on 4/7. Enroute, the "ESC OFF" and the ABS warning lights came on,and the brake lights stopped working. I took the car to a Hyundai dealership in Gainesville. They replaced the brake lamp switch, and reassured me that it was the cause of the trouble. While on the way back home, I dicovered that not only does the "ESC OFF" light still come on, but the brake lights stay on, the cruise control won't set, and the Check Engine light is on! The car is now at the dealership that sold it to me,awaiting proper repairs. I hope that they will be able to correct the problems,or I will seek relief under the NYS Lemon Law.

First i considered Camry or Accord but were too expensive and had less features than Sonata. So I purchased one and it is just Flawless. Built quality is still not as good as Japanese cars but otherwise, the Sonata is the winner even with the 4cyl engine. Roomy cabin, excellent ride quality and subpar steering. The cabin is quite even above 70miles/h. Guage is clear and simple. 4speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly. Sonata is not only a great family car, it is also fun to drivc!!

Not at all happy with this car since I picked it up from the dealer. It had pulsating on the brakes and a vibration while driving. This was on city streets. Had to go back twice to have the rotors turned and wheels balanced. Vibration was never fixed to my satisfaction for a new car and was told that there is nothing wrong. Washer pump failed at 120K Strut mount bushings had to be changed at 130K Head lights need to be replaced at least once a year and engine light comes on with no fault and needs to be reset. The initial cost is attractive but the resale value is not there so as far as I am concerned the cost of ownership is high. I will not buy another Hyundi. I have owned two Sonatas.

Have driven the car 11,000 miles and gas mileage average is 19.9 MPG (for the 11K miles), sticker said 20 City, 30 Hwy. Rust spot by the sunroof, paint starting to peel around stone dings. Carpeting already worn by driver's left foot rest. It is reliable, the new 235 hp engine is fun to drive, except lagging acceleration in passing. Had to replace horn, it had gone dead. Dealer does not keep promises for service. Had to call Hyundai to schedule service by dealer, since service manager would not return calls. Other offerings offer greater value in this price range. Was looking at the AZERA, sharp looking car... but after this experience, will go somewhere else.

Only 1000 miles but I am very pleased. Camry/Accord didn't have enough room for my long legs; Sonata does. Plenty of room for my family of five and I find the front seats to be quite comfortable. Stable and secure ride, sure brakes, fantastic acceleration and very acceptable milage for a V6 as long as you don't try to red line the tach each time you take off; 32 hwy and about 20 city. I think the refinements and quality of the car may not quite match those of Accord and Camry and only time will tell how well it holds up, but the price makes this car an excellent value. Hyundai has come a long way in the past ten years. I'll post again after a few more thousand miles.

The new sytle is what got me into the dealer to begin with. Great car lots of power behind the 3.3 litre. Inside qual not as good as a Toyota but you are not spending as much and yet still get a bunch more. Drives very nice and I see a good future for Hyundai with this new car.
