Used 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid SUV Consumer Reviews
2nd time better than first
This is our second Santa Fe (first was a 2008). We loved that one and stepped up to a hybrid. We like all the features (lane following, smart cruise control, blind spot cameras, etc). The fit and finish is really nice. We like the immediate torque available at slower speeds from the electric motors and the gas mileage from the 1.6 L turbo. You cannot tell when it switches from one to the other. I'm a pilot and I see a lot of aviation technology now appearing in cars. I am concerned it may get really expensive if this stuff breaks as it is way beyond a shade tree mechanic to fix but we shall see.
Great vehicle. There's nothing else quite like it.
Love the Santa fe hybrid, I have the limited trim that has a whole load of features that you typically find on a Lexus, heated and ventilated seats up front, heated in the rear, heated steering wheel, pano roof, folding mirrors, adaptive cruise and 360 camera are just a few of the goodies. The car is smooth, quiet and comfortable, great on long road trips. Good amount of space and excellent fuel economy makes it almost the perfect vehicle. There are a few annoyances like anything, you'll never find a perfect car! 1. The reverse warning is too loud and obnoxious, it's there as a safety feature for the hybrid system but it's insanely loud. 2. The cargo height is a bit high for dogs. 3. Should have the ability to turn off adaptive cruise control and have regular cruise. 4. No spare, only a fix-a-flat kit. 5. No wireless carplay, although an after market dongle solved this. 6. No ambient lighting or HUD, like the Calligraphy, would have liked the option. Overall I am very satisfied with the Santa fe and enjoy driving it and don't see anything to replace it in the future that comes close. Update: 3 years of ownership and I still like this vehicle, it has been rock solid and reliable. It still drives smoothly and gets around 34mpg. I really dislike the newer model Santa Fe, the styling is way to boxy for my taste so I plan on keeping mine for a bit longer, and it honestly has been the most trouble free vehicle I have owned. Great vehicle and a good choice in this segment. No regrets whatsoever!

Luxury in a mid-size loaded SUV
After doing months of extensive research on all the top rated mild hybrid SUV's on tons of sites including this one, I concluded that this particular model year suites my needs perfectly. This is my third Santa Fe in a row. Consumer Reports rates this vehicle as the highest rated SUV of all, even Lexus! Rides like a dream! The EV battery starts off smoothly and effortless until the gas engine kicks in at around 45mph if you drive steadily instead of foot to the floor! I expect this car to last for 15 - 20 years with the Complimentary recommended service! A GREAT CAR!

Last car for me
Just picked up this beautiful caylipso red Santa Fe hybrid with 10,000 miles on it. I have been doing research for a year on this model and have owned 2 other Santa Fe’s in the past. I’m 75 now and thought I could use a modern safe vehicle that would help me drive as best as I can as a senior. This will be my last purchase and I wanted all the new tech as well as comfortable interior and good gas mileage. This beauty meets all the requirements and is a pleasure to own and drive. It is very comfortable and quiet and the controls aren’t difficult to use with the addition of the push buttons with the touch screen functions. Visibility is great and I love the blind spot cameras and lane following features. I can’t say enough about the quality and finishes for the money. I also found the 1.6 turbo engine with the hybrid system and 6 speed transmission to provide good power and smooth response. We love the great service we get from our dealership and the knowledgeable service technicians and have been Hyundai customer for 20 years.

Best car for the money
Hyundai packs the most features in their cars for the least amount of money. I was impressed with all the technology packed into this car at a price I could afford. Hyundai sponsors a 5 year 100,000 mile warrantee and I was able to get free oil changes, scheduled maintenance items and inspections for the same term. The fit and finish on the car is very good. I absolutely love the huge moon roof. My only complaint is that the ride is a bit bumpy, like most SUVs. Update 1/20/25: After 1 full year and 12,000 miles I can honestly say this has been the best car that I have ever owned. The service from the dealership has been very good, only needed to go in for the 8,000 mile service so far. Gar mileage has been good, as the city driving mostly uses the battery (overall between 34 to 36 MPG). I love the remote start from the app, especially when it is freezing outside. Sometimes the heater blasts and I have to turn it all the way down to turn on the air conditioner for it to start to regulate the heat correctly, I will tell the dealer on my next scheduled service to see what they say.
