Used 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Consumer Reviews
Transmission breaks at 95k mikes
I am the second owner of a Hyundai Genesis 5.0 sedan that I purchased in 2020 with 83k miles. I have had experience with luxury German brands such as Mercedes, BMW and Audi and decided this time to give Genesis a consideration based on the generally positive reviews I have read about the brand. I have only driven this car for 12k miles and have been fairly satisfied with the car until during a routine maintenance I was offered by my local Hyundai dealer to replace the transmission fluid as part of the 95k scheduled maintenance. I drove out of the dealership and 100 miles after the service the transmission went. I had the car towed back to the dealership where I was told that them changing the fluid has nothing to do with my transmission failure and that because I was the second owner of the car it was no longer covered by the warranty. I immediately contacted Hyundai USA to complain and ask if I could receive some help since to me it is obvious that the dealer is the one that screwed up my transmission and that it should be replaced at no cost to me. I was told by Hyundai that they are sorry but there is nothing they can do for me. That I should ask my dealer how much money they would give me for my car with the broken transmission and purchased a new vehicle for them and that way I would have a brand new car with a 100k miles power train warranty!! There was no compassion in the tone, no apology, no offer to help in any shape or form, no acceptance of any type of wrong doing: ZERO!! A company that cannot stand by their car and offers zero level of service should not be trusted. A luxury car pretending to compete against German brands and sees no problem with a transmission breaking at 95k after having performed service in the car should not be trusted. Stay away from this car and Hyundai.

Great 1st year, not so much now
Stay away from this car. I drove a new 2018 Genesis G80 and it too has rattles right out of the gate, unbelievable. The ride is harsh, the seats are too hard, road noise is a little less than my 2015 3.8 V6 AWD, but not much. I was not impressed. Luxury sedan it is not.

One of the best entry luxury car I've ever owned
Its not as luxurious as Audi, BMW, Mercedes or Lexus, but man does it compete...and considering the price...it wins. I owned a 2012 and thought that was a great car, but the 2015 model steps up again to take a swipe at the big boys. I love that the maintenance on these is a pittance compared to the luxury brands. I love that I just out sped a Tesla. I love that it has a sharp look, a quiet ride, a stereo that sounds like sitting in the middle of a symphony, and all for less than its competition. Go test drive one and enjoy.

Genesis - a new beginning?
I am quite pleased with my new Hyundai Genesis sedan. It looks good, drives well, has all the bells and whistles you could ask for. The car is great! What was very disappointing - and will likely continue to be so - is the dealer experience. While the car may be world class, the dealers that i visited do not seem to understand that customers purchasing $45K plus car rent going to be satisfied by a a less than robust level of dealer support and experience. If Hyundai wants to compete with MB and BMW and the like, they need to step up there game in a big way. Great car - just hope I never have to go back to the dealer again. UPDATE: I have had the car for 8 months now - still enjoy it as much as I did when it was new. UDATE#2: just past year 2 driving this car - no issues, no problems, no dissapointments

Amazing
Car is absolutely amazing and a great value. Test drive a Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, and Acura and this is a sure winner. It has way more trunk space, way more interior space and the features are more than the same level luxury brand, for 20,000 less.
