My Elantra GT
I have had my Elantra now for 9 months. Everything I researched about this car has proven out since I have bought it. Peppy engine, well appointed interior, great sound system, handles road noise well, and the best set of tires on economy class car I have ever seen. I looked at Civics, Toyotas, and Ford. The Ford product came close but the warranty on the Hyundai can't be beat.Oh did I mention a fully loaded (leather, wood grain dash, ABS, Traction control, Upgraded sound system, Michelins at 195)Elantra GT was still 3 G's less than every other car in its' class. And none had these options.
Most reliable car I've owned
Bought this car used 40k on odo that was in an accident and salvaged title. However it turned out to be the most reliable car that I owned. I never babied it and changed the oil every 6k or so with conventional oil. This thing never let me down. Always started up with no major repairs for over a 100k miles that I drove it. Only repairs were brakes, a battery, a flex pipe, power window motor and 02 sensor. Didn't burn oil and ran solid even in harshest winters. The transmission started to occasionally and slightly slip only after I had it flushed. Hind sight I would have just had the tranny fluid changed instead of flushed as many good mechanics say that flushing can cause slips and it did for me. It was zippy fun to drive and got good gas mileage. I would not hesitate at all to recommend this vehicle based on my experience. I would def buy another especially the GT hatchback. Great cars that can rival a Honda or Toyota imo. These can be 300k cars. Big fan!!

Some Problems but overall a decent car
I bought this vehicle used in August of 08 to replace a wrecked vehicle. It is fun to drive. I average 28 miles to the gallon. I have replace two headlights and have had numerous break problems with both the rear brakes and the E brake. Hyundai has not been kind about repairs.
Cheap car/ Poor quality/Bad Service
My current milage is only 10,000, but when I stopped by Hyundai repair center to fix my brake sound and steering wheel vibrating, they chrged me about $600, which is out of warranty. It's very funny. I'll never buy Hyundai any more and don't recommend anybody. Please don't buy Hyundai.
Great Car - Better than an Acura
I have had no problems with this $15,000 car in my 3+ years of ownership which is more than I can say for my $40,000 Acura MDX. Other than the Passenger Airbag Sensor recall, this car has not been in for repairs other than the regular scheduled. The MDX has had several recalls for major items - power steering pump, transmission. Also had a cracked fuel tank pipe. It's really too bad that Hyundai is still getting penalized for being Korean and Acura/Honda gets high praise for being Japanese. I'll buy another Hyundai before a Honda/Acura product.
