Used 2002 Hyundai Elantra Consumer Reviews
Blown Away by my new Hyundai
I wasn't looking for a Hyundai at all. After seeing the quality and driving this vehicle, i was sold. I paid under $14,000 for this car with CD, Alarm, keyless entry and power everything. I was looking at a Civic but this is what the Civic used to be. I am blown away.
Great Car, Great Price
I think the GT may be one of the best kept secrets in the automotive world. There's a ton of room inside, more power under the hood than most of it's competitors, and the best warranty in the business. I've average better than 31 mpg in the 3000 miles I've owned it and haven't had a single problem.

What Are You Waiting For? Get This Car!
I've had the Elantra GT for a year, and love it! Anyone "on the fence" about a Hyundai should really check out their new line -- esp the GT. These cars have terrific build quality, are reliable, and the features that cost an additional $3K-$4K in other cars are INCLUDED in the GT. Wife owns a Honda and she loves my car! Any fault that could possibly be found is beyond minor when you compare what you get vs. what you pay. Love the look of the car. Friends constantly stop me to ask if it's "really" a Hyundai. The photos on the site don't do it justice...Do yourself a favor -- put it on your list. Trust me, you're definitely NOT "settling."
I'm glad I did my research
I test drove the Elantra last December...compared to the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla and Nissan Sentra it won hands down. But I hesitated because of poor crash test results re: airbag deployment. I've had my 2002 Elantra for 2 weeks and love the way it handles. My "workhorse" 93 Toyota Camry still runs and looks good but at 190,000 miles it became a second car for my daughter. The Elantra is so much peppier and responsive. I had to get used to sitting a little lower on the road and more road noise. I'm having too much fun playing with the moonroof. CD feature is nice although I don't believe the speaker system compares to Toyota. Still checking gas mileage...with only 2 fills, between 25-28 mpg mostly city driving
Surprised
Initially I was a skeptic. This was the one car my then-fiance (now husband) reviewed without me, so when he purchased it, without me, I was rather upset and also concern about not knowing much about it. However, since then, I have been amazed at how the Elantra has "handled me". We've since recommended the Hyundai name to many of our friends.
