First off, I wanted to dislike this car, it wasn't my first choice for a new car. The deal that I was offered was too good to pass up so I took it. Needless to say, over time this car has really grown on us. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of get-up-and-go for a compact, 173hp, one of the highest in this class especially for the price. Paired with being lightweight = nimble & quick. Unlike the slow, boring Elantra sedan. I recently read Hyundai uses a special metal that's safer yet more lightweight than the traditional which helps with performance & MPGs. Ride comfort is good compared to others in this class, though it can get a little drifty on certain surfaces due to being lightweight. Took a while to get my seating position exact but seats are very comfortable, nice bolstering, and one thing I love is the interior materials, easy to clean, good quality and should hold up well long-term. Ergonomics are excellent in the Elantra GT, as are the quality of materials. After driving a luxury car as my previous vehicle, I am impressed with the fit and finish of this Hyundai. It has great cargo space, especially with the seats down, and the styling on the outside is unique as opposed to the sedan version. The GT has a lot of standard features, fog lights, heated seats etc...Plus the warranty can't be beat. The only complaint I have on the vehicle is that it could use a little better speakers, they're not awful by any means though and the key Fob is really cheap, looks like it's from 1990, but those really are the only complaints. If you are considering cars like the Focus hatchback,Mazda 3 hatchback, Forte 5, VW Golf etc...I think for the $$ Hyundail Elantra GT is worth a look, you definitely get a lot of bang for your your back. I've driven each of the cars I listed and none were so good as to pass up the Elantra GT, especially for the price! Plus, you don't see the GT all over the streets, and I kind of like having something a little more rare.

I only have a couple hundred miles on the odo but here is my initial review. Comfortable but the seats could be a little wider and have more leg support. It has the smoothest shifting manual I have ever driven which is good because I prefer automatic for a daily driver. Picked the car up for 15,900 after rebates. It has the style package with Leather. Ride is fantastic and I love the selectable steering feel. Gas mileage has been 30mpg in mixed driving and its not even broken in. Bluetooth and voice activation work perfectly.

So I’ve hade my 2014 Hyundai Elantra GT with manual transmission for about 4.5 years. It currently has 91k on it. First the good: cabin is quiet and solid. The material inside is of food quality. The handling is tolerable. Mine supposedly has sport tune suspension. I feel German cars handle better. Know the bad: my catalytic converters went bad. Not sure why. The interesting part is I have to buy from the dealer and the assembly cost is $990. There is one approved after market CAT but does not have the O2 port. But I live in California and the state finds a way get your money. Also, the car is way under powered. It does get a little more pick up with premium unleaded but that adds cost and I specifically went for a car the ran on unleaded regular. Overall I was happy with the car until I had to sink $1k into it because of the CAT problem.

This car has everything. Electric seats. Heated seats with lumbar support. Passenger and driver side and seat airbags. Blue tooth. Two USB ports and an additional outlet dedicated to an iPod. Controls on the steering wheel. A rear windshield wiper. Large storage in the hatchback. The storage compartment has a cover to hide what you have in it, but it can be removed, and the rear seats folded down to give you a larger storage area. I believe the windows are tinted. The rear view mirror has special controls on it. The Driver's side view mirror has a smaller mirror in it. The stereo has a nice sound with pre-set buttons. The controls are very easy to learn. It's keyless entry and keyless start. A lot of extras. And I got it at a great price. It was listed on line for $2000 less than the sticker price and the Dealership (Lester Glenn Hyundai) honored the on-line price and was very eager to work with me.

The Hyundai Elantra GT is basically a comfortable and enjoyable vehicle; easy and comfortable to handle on the road and it gives good mpg. Even though I did not purchase one with the many luxury features I enjoy driving it. My son loved ECO feature and thinks it made a difference in the MPG. I am not excited of that feature, because it seems to me that I get the same whether its on or off. I enjoy driving this vehicle now although at first it seemed to be a little lower than normal. It took me a little while to get used to sitting so close to the road, that might have been so because I've been seating high for a few years in my old trucks and loving it! In any case, I got used to the Elantra GT and its features and now I;m enjoying driving it. I like and the comfortable seats and especially the sound system. The brakes are really there when needed and the hatchback holds plenty. I love the steering wheel, it's comfortable to hold onto. I am not a fan of the way in which the dashboard connects to the windshield. It seems unusual and awkward to reach. A few times I find myself struggling to retrieve an item that slid toward the front and somehow is very hard to reach - pen, note pad, paper or even sun glasses. The forward movement at times may have caused whatever it is to wedge into the narrow slanting front. If the item happens to be the size of a credit card, then prepare to pry and struggle for a while to retrieve it! The Elantra GT is an overall good, comfortable vehicle - Not much fancy features, but in my opinion, you get your money's worth .
