Used 2008 Hyundai Accent Sedan Consumer Reviews
Waste of time and money
Just bought this car few weeks ago and already facing problems with the engine. Engine is extremely weak, weaker than I had anticipated. Some times I have trouble to accelerate into merging traffic, and since I live in hilly area. It revs very loudly and power is very insufficient. Consider buying a used Japanese or European car which is 8 years or so old. With more power and features. And gas mileage is not as great as people think it is...
Reliable and steady
I bought my 2008 Accent when it was 4 years old with 50K miles. I'm about to sell it now after 8 years with 243K miles. In all that time, the only problems I had were the four cylinder coils which went out in the first 18 months - and they were still under Hyundai's terrific extended warranty. Since then, I've only had to do regular maintenance. Great gas mileage, even at this age I still get 33 mpg on the highway andc28-29 around town. The automatic transmission handles our mountains like a champ, and it still has a lot of life left. It's also generally very comfortable to drive.

Decent car
Great for getting back and forth to work on a long commute. Sometimes I can get over 35 mpg highway even though it's old. Not a lot of features, but it's a great first car. My only complaint is that it's terrible in the snow.

2008 Hyundai Accent
We purchased this little gray colored Accent for our son who was going to college and then decided to keep it after he purchased an Elantra. I use it for around town errands. It gets almost 40 miles a gallon so I hate to part with it as it's good to have a spare car around in case one car is in the shop. Nothing fancy but I am the type that likes the old standard automatic transmissions and easy to maintain car.

good starter car
We actually bought two Hyundai cars at once. I had one graduating from UCONN and another from community college that needs a commuting car for her junior year. The price was right and the warranty better than the others. They each bought the version they liked and they are better than the used cars out there. There is nothing on the used market with good gas mileage like the deal we got on new cars. They both complained about the blind spot, but are happy with the mileage and having reliable transportation.
