Used 2023 Honda Ridgeline Consumer Reviews
Not Such a Good Buy
Going in for the 2023 Honda Ridgeline, I had really high hopes after reading all the glowing reviews. Three weeks and 300 miles later, I am crying foul! The vehicle drives well, although a little low on power, coming from an 8-cylinder Lexus. In any case, my disappointment stems from the fact that I am getting very low mileage. For a vehicle touted to get a minimum of 18 MPG for city and 24 for Hwy, I'd say 13.8 miles is a bit mean. Right out of the factory, I was getting 14.9 MPG. It gradually sank to 12.8 and then snuck back up to 13.8. I took it back to the dealer and was told that new cars have to be driven a few miles to start getting good gas mileage. I thought that was baloney. A new car should be getting way better mileage from the get go. It has since hovered around a steady 13.8 MPG. At this point I am debating whether it would be to my benefit to launch a return the car to the dealer before my 30-day window closes. I know there is no lemon law in TN, but I can't imagine driving this car for its life with this insatiable appetite. I should have just bought an 8-cyl GMC. At least I know what I am getting.

Hate the Idle Stop System and downshifting!
Just bought a 2023 Ridgeline RTL, only 1700 miles on it. So far so good. The truck drives well, is well equipped, and looks good. I hate the idle stop feature; you can disable the idle stop system but you must do it every time you start the engine. Also, the truck supposedly was assembled in Alabama; some clown stripped a screw while installing the console and just left it. It was very, very, very difficult to remove the stripped screw! Also, I hate the constant downshifting on hilly terrain! Other than that, nice truck so far.

mirrors
excellent vehicle except it does not have power folding mirrors. don't buy if you have single wide 96" garage door. Manual folding and rain don't mix
Black Edition Upgrade
This is my fourth Ridgeline. This one has all the options and I’m very happy with the upgrades. Update 19 care-free months and 17,000 miles. Still enjoy the simple layout and utility. Nothing I can say to add to other positive reviews. Mine is a lease and I’m looking forward to the next generation which will likely mirror the technology and ruggedness upgrades of the 2026 Passport. No complaints.
