We recently got the EX with navigation system to replace our station wagon. I am having such a great time with this car. The drive is smooth and the power is impressive. The interior space is great, with room for a family and all the stuff that goes with it. There are so many extra features that make the whole experience so much more than any car I have owned before. The rear-view camera that comes with the navigation system is wonderful with children, pets and toys in the driveway. The audio system is awesome and is equipped with satellite radio. Drive one and I think you will have to have one.

I have had my Pilot for 4months And love it. There is so much storage in the front. You get a huge arm console. Inside contains a cell phone charger and a 12v outlet. Under the radio dash there is a sliding door to put more nick-nacks like pens, hair clips and anything else. We have 2 car seats on the sides and I am 5'5 150lb and sit comfy bw them. For your info, We have the Graco Safe seat behind the passenger b/c At 5'5 I can not put the drivers seat in a comfortable position, and the seat can not be reclined. We have the dvd system with the car and it works like your dvd player at home. I did not read the directions or watch the dvd movie it comes with. Very easy. It drives like a car.

Very Disappointed So Far

After less than two months and 1,500 miles, my new 06 Pilot died (leaving my pregnant wife stranded in a snow storm). Apparently the "third bearing was contaminated" from the factory and "disintegrated." Engine was oil starved, and now short block and cylinder heads need to be replaced. Aside from that, the car suffers from a number of annoying interior creaks and rattles. Audio (both stereo and nav) "blacks out." The fr p door rubs the body panel. I have a 2003 S2000 that I love, but my faith in Honda has been shaken. Maybe it is a problem w/ the Alabama plant? I've filed a case w/ Honda asking them to replace with new vehicle (rather than rebuild the engine). Will post an update.

First I was not sure if it was enough space for us but it is plenty. Have 3 kids and me the driver is 6 feet 2. Plenty of leg room. We love this truck. Suprisingly great handling for its size. Handles like a sedan. Plenty of goodies including XM radio. The sound system is a little bit boxy. If sound that you are looking for this is not the SUV for you. Very comfortable, love the side curtain air bags and the stability control. Very well thought design interior and exterior. Friends and neigbors love my truck. 4 has been bought around my way since I got ours. Nice heated leather seats with heated mirrors. Overall this is a solid SUV that also has a great engine.

We purchased in April after owning MBZ 320, & 2- Expeditions. Evaluated Grand Cherokee, Toyota's, Accura MDX. Liked MDX but $7k more for upgraded "Pilot" was not worth it, so we got the EX-L. Mileage 22 hwy consistent at 75, great interior design, room, comfort, creature features galore-well thought out compared to MDX base model, Pilot is a great value ~ like 6 cd in dash standard. Speakers not so good with 155 w, 7 speaker system, so we did aftermarket upgrade to Eclipse~ 1000% improvment. Road noise from Goodyear's; can't wait to replace w/ Michelins. Overall, great value.

I have had nothing short of a fantastic experience with my Pilot. The ride is comfortable, seat belts for everyone, room galore, great heating/cooling, and a great stereo from the factory. I've driven it long distance (2500 mi) and had no troubles of any kind...no mechanical nor body aches either. The seat comfort is unbelievable until you ride in it for a time. It offers enough support for long distances and is firm enough for 4-wheeling. I love my Pilot...though I'd like to customize the interior to suit my needs a little better.

This is the best vehicle purchase we ever made. Has performed great in the worse winter conditions. Handles great considering its size. Lots of interior space and lots of trunk space for moving big items. 2 years now and not one mechanical issue. Has great power and handling, drives like a car. Great looking vehicle that turns heads when we are out. Best mid-size SUV in its class. Interior is well laid out and the stereo sounds great. Would highly recommend this vehicle to anybody.

I have never owned an import, but on a whim I took the this used Pilot for a test drive. I have owned several Yukon/Tahoe and Yukon XL/Suburbans. I wanted something smaller with better mpg's but that I could fit 3 kids in and still have room in the back for hockey gear or golf clubs. To my surprise the Pilot drove excellently and with the 3rd seat down had lots of storage space. My kids are young enough so that all 3 can sit in the 2nd row with 1 car seat and one booster. Average 14.5 mpg with 100% city driving(lead foot), and average 20 with 100% highway driving and about 17 with mixed driving. Which could be better but I think is not bad for a AWD vehicle. Rides great and is comfortable.

We've had our 2006 for about a month. Overall we find it to be a solid and easy to drive vehicle. It has all of the features that we need and plenty of room. A rattle in the suspension and an annoying vibration during acceleration detract from our enjoyment of the vehicle. Hopefully these can be corrected on the first service visit.

After a long and exhaustive research, I opted for the Pilot EXL with Navi. I was going to wait for the 07 but with no change... why bother. Besides getting a price way below invoice was well worth it. I love the fact that this SUV have most if not all of the amenities I wanted. The only thing that I was hoping for was a DVD system ... but they don't offer it with the Navi. I figured if they did, less people will be looking at the Acura version. Overall, I've put in about 5K miles already and still like driving it. I've been tracking my mpg (combined) and only getting 18-19. The best was 23 and the worst was 16 mpg.

I drive a lot, almost all highway and what a great highway cruiser this is. Plenty of room for my 3 kids and then some, great for vacation and still gets 20MPG at 75MPH. Feels incredibly safe and well built. VERY smooth ride. Basic cloth on EX is gorgeous so passed on the leather, which saves 2-4K. And with a price under $29K, a tremendous value.

I purchased the Honda Pilot really wanting the MDX but after looking at the price tag realized the Pilot was a better option. Vehicle drives nicely and the interior design is comparable to most luxury SUV's. Seats feel great and the ride is similar to that of a car. I bought this vehicle for my growing family and because of the Honda name and reputation, I know this vehicle will last for many years.

I purchased a 2006 Pilot LX AWD during the Honda year end clearance. I like this vehicle very much. I also own a Honda Civic so I am familar with the Honda vehicles. We recently took a 600 mile trip and I average 23 - 24 MPG. This was done by driving in the 60 - 65 mile per hour range. This is my first 4x4 and I like the way the Pilot drives and feel on the road.

I've been reading about the Pilot for the past three years and I finally made my decision. Test drove an LX, but I encountered the dreaded Active Noise Cancellation noise and didn't buy that one. I test drove another one, no noise, bought it on the spot. First gas tank gave me 17 MPG, which I think is decent for being one week old. The car is extremely smooth at all speeds, can't hear, or feel the VCM working... only the green light on the dash let's me know it's working. Very high built quality, no noises to complain about.

We've put almost 2k miles on the car in a month. Great family car. Paid less that $29k +t,t&l. Get the all weather floormats if you have younger, messy kids. Smooth ride, great safety features, solid feel to the car. Updated styling on '06 much beefier than prior years - more of a truck profile, less minivan-like. 3rd row seating better than most. Others considered - Toyota Highlander Hybrid - too small. Acura MDX - Pilot a better value, more room. Dodge Durango - Build quality issues (we previously owned a '99). Gas milage better than most, but no where near as good as the Highlander Hybrid. IMHO - this is by far asnd away the biggest bang for the buck, in its class.

I have owned the Pilot for less than a week, but I sure do love it. The ride is car-like and visibility over my car is ten fold. There is so much room in this mid-size SUV, even more than some larger ones. I feel the styling is very clean, inside and out. Riding down the freeway makes you feel very safe knowing that you have ten air bags availabe, if needed. It may not turn heads on the road, but that's OK because it may prevent an accident.

The Honda Pilot is an efficient blend of practicality and good looks. It rides and handles well with a solid feel, and has plenty of room for passengers and cargo. It accelerates strongly yet averages over 20 mpg in every-day traffic. The V6 uses only 3 cylinders under light load, yielding about 25 mpg on the highway. Reliability after one year and 12,000 miles has been perfect.

This is my first SUV, and so far I like it. I heard quotes like "it drives like a car", but I find that the AWD makes it feel somewhat like a truck in that as soon as I ease off the accelerator the car will not coast at the same speed like a sedan. Engine has plently of power when fully loaded, but I have not tried towing yet. The ride is comfortable, and quite at lower speeds. At highway speeds, the tires "thump" when traveling over breaks in the pavement. Not sure if it's the bridgestone tires or the design of the suspension. Handles superbly. First road trip averaged 18.5 MPG during the new car break in period. Anyone looking at a SUV should test drive. EX has all features I needed.

Fuel economy is great. When the vehicle is traveling over 30 mph and is not accelerating, the engine shuts off 3 cylinders to save fuel. I traveled from Houston, TX to New Orleans, LA on a single tank of gas. City driving reduces the effectiveness a little. Vehicle is very comfortable. We have a car seat in the middle of the second row of seats, and easily fit two adults on the sides of the car seat. We have the 3rd row of seats folded down, and have the old car seat with base, a portable high chair and a stroller (not the umbrella type, the big ones) in the rear. We still have room to make a weekly grocery shopping trip. The fold down LCD screen makes travel easy with a child. I love it!

We bought this car during the year-end clearance event in July of '06. I could not have made a better decision concerning a vehicle! This SUV has the space for my 4 small children, all of the stuff they tote from here to yonder, and our dog as well. The gas mileage does not compare to a car, of course, but it's not as bad as one of those "monster SUVs" either. I haven't noticed the road noise that I've read about in so many other reviews; as a matter of fact, I get compliments from passengers, all of the time, concerning the feel and sound of riding in a car! I wouldn't trade my Pilot for ANY other vehicle out there!

I bought my 2006 AWD Honda Pilot EX-L RES in October of 2006. The Salesman was OK, but the rest of the Sales Staff was total HIGH PRESSURE and snobbish. This is my first Honda and my last. It's been in the shop 5 times since I bought it ONE month ago. It has such a severe vibration problem between 60-65 MPH that I can't stand to drive it. Check out the Pilot forums and you will see it's a widespread problem that Honda refuses to fix. Overall, this vehicles build quality is absolutely the WORST of any vehicle I have ever owned. All I can say is " DON'T BUY ONE ! "

My husband insisted on the Pilot 06. I am NOT impressed and a bit disappointed. The car gets nowhere near the reported mileage... poor at best. The controls are awkward, the seat on passenger side is uncomfortable and non electric. The seat belt alarm never stops. The nav system is impossible to use and has no return feature... very inconvenient and overpriced. I would never encourage anyone to purchase the vehicle. I think Honda missed the mark. I will get out of this car ASAP. I want to know why the gas mileage is so poor and the A/C takes too long to cool down and the wipers are difficult to trun off or change speed. Do not buy!

Ask for a 6 cyl, and you get a car that drops to a 4 cyl to "save gas"! Well it isn't gas efficient, and if i wanted a 4 cyl, i would have bought a crv. this is not a comfortable car, road noise is loud, not very roomy for anyone over 5'3". honda could have done much better, for the sticker price. i now see why it was back on the lot just after a year, and only after driving it 45 days, it will be on the lot again!!!!

I just purchased the Pilot. I went in looking for a 2007, but the 2006 was substantially less expensive. Compared to my last SUV, I am disappointed in the lack of exterior and interior features. Such as no top of roof racks. Also there is no exterier rim for protection against other car doors ramming yours.le probably doored mine. The interior in this model also has a lack of features such as a small beverage holder that only fits the average size drink rather that a beverage holder that can fit wider beverages as well. The backseat fabric shows every stain. Some good stuff: I love the size and roominess. The ride is smooth and the Pilot is easy to manipulate.

The vehicle is small and does not take bumps very well. The doors shut and make a noise like tin cans. The vehicle seems cheap and can't pull anything but a really small trailer (really small) Lots of road noise. If you look under the vehicle from the rear, the exhaust pipe looks funny the way it is routed. It hangs down and looks like a string of spegetti.

I feel the vehicle is over-rated. MPG around 11 in city- I got 10 with my suburban. Why would Honda put cheap, poor handling tires on such an expensive vehicle? New tires make a big difference in handling. I am not impressed so far.

I traded my Silverado z71 for this pilot for better gas mileage. The truck got better gas mileage than this Honda! I have owned many suvs and this is the most uncomfortable one yet! Do not buy this car if you have to drive in snow above two inches. The brakes lock and you MUST turn off the stability control to make it safe. There are a lot of squirrels where I live but this car is the squirreliest thing on the road in more than two inches of snow. Thank God I kept my Suburban so I can drive it in bad weather and feel safe! I wish I had not listened to my wife and bought a Landrover Lr3. Know anyone that wants to trade?

We purchased our 2006 Pilot in November of '05, so we only have 2,000 miles on it. That said, we really like the Pilot. The ride is very smooth for a SUV and the features you get for the money are great. The build quality of our Pilot is excellent, the materials used are all nice, and our previous experience with Honda cars & vans has been good too. We wish the mileage was a little better, but we like the quick acceleration so we live with the trade off. The in dash XM radio is another favorite feature. AWD system works well in snow. Our insurance jumped up $35 a month compared to the Honda Odyssey we traded-in so check your insurance costs before you buy. Overall, a great SUV!

I traded in my 1999 Ford Expedition on the 2006 Pilot EX. My first day in the Pilot I suffered buyer's remorse as it seemed so small compared to the Expedition. But by the 2nd day something happened. I feel in love with the Pilot. It is just so easy and fun to drive. You really do forget you are in a SUV because it handles beautifully. It's typical Honda in that it's well made with subtle quality but there aren't a lot of frills or bells & whistles. I wish there were automatic headlights, memory seats and a better radio. But for the important things it's perfect. I can fit lots or kids or lots of stuff and that's exactly what I needs.

Just purchased a 06 4wd EXL. Great all purpose SUV. 3rd row seats are a big plus. (great to be able to recline the 2nd and 3rd rows). When both rows are folded flat, the amount of cargo space is tremendous. Easy to fit large boxes or equipment (i.e., bikes). Just drove in through our first snowstorm and it passed beautifully. The four wheel drive engages and disengages quietly (although, you will hear a faint clunk, as the rear differentals disengage). Heat side mirrors are also a plus. The versatility of this SUV is comparable to a minivan. More adjustable seating configurations than most other SUV's. Has decent acceleration from a dead stop, but much better during passing

I had a 2005 sentra se-r spec V, but i wanted something more comfortable and bigger, so someone recommended a Pilot, i went to the dealership and fell in love with it. I went for a test drive and the ride was amazing so i decided right there and then to get it. Signed the papers and picked up on Monday. I am Loving every minute in that car, I look for excuses to drive somewhere. Def. worth every penny. The ride comfort can easily compete with high end luxury cars. No regrets here.

Love my 2006 Pilot. It goes when I go. Only major drawback I have is there is no room to collect your crumbs and coins when they drop to your side. My vacuum wand just isn't thin enough.

Owned this car a little over a month. Definitly put it through its paces-- logged over 1700 miles, highway, city, unpaved roads (my driveway), washed over roads, dry pavement, rain, snow, slush, ice. I've hauled my two year old to daycare, teenager to band practice, the whole family on a trip. Drove a few 200 mile trips for my job. I've had to park it in tight spots and inadequately plowed lots. In all these situations, it has performed without trouble. From a practical standpoint, I would highly recommend it.

Test drove 4Runner, Pathfinder, Explorer before I bought the Pilot. Pilot satisfied me the most. Pathfinder and 4Runner "maybe" stronger in power but both are noisier. Pilot gives the smoothiest ride, acting like a car. I hear some people say that when in 70-80 mph, it vibrates, never happened to me. The problem for me is it is so smooth that you could easily get a speeding ticket without noticing anything. Gas mileage is decent, my calculation justified the 24 miles/gal claim for highway. This is my first Honda and will have more. The interior space is much bigger than Pathfinder's (at least feel like). By the way, I got the EXL 2 front wheel drive w/navigation systems. Price is reasonable.

Getting a true 18mph and expect highway mileage to be right on at at least 24mpg. You learn to drive in the "eco" mode (three cylinders shut off for more economy). On level highway you can't tell the difference. Overall great vehicle. It's as quiet as my wife's Lexus and more comfortable than my trade-in, a 2003 Infiniti G35. Pilot rocks

As the Title states! Its a Honda. Big reason I rid myself of my LTD 01' Jeep was because of safety $ fuel costs, comfort, features and reliability. I mean the list can go on and on. I was sold on this car 3 years ago but just could not justify the cost of buying new. I am glad I held off. My wife and 2 kids love this car. Finally after years of saying I want 3 rows, she got it and is thanking me every day. The bottom line here is: you want a suv that drives like a car but has all the features, safety and reliabilty of a larger vehicle. Look no further this is it! I own a Lexus LS 400 and I think the power, luxury and feel of this vehicle rides like a 40K plus car but I got for 31.5K

My husband and I test drove all SUV's in the range of the Honda Pilot and selected the Honda based on space ( we have children and dogs),economy and look. It gave us the best of what we required for family and sports and ability to carry larger items. After almost one year of ownership we love it even more!

We bought this car and immediately took a long trip. We loved it. It hugged the road and was very comfortable to ride in. We had it packed with Christmas gifts and had lots of room left.
