Used 1997 Honda Passport Consumer Reviews
Not Bad after all
I purchased this vehicle as an inbetween from an old clunker suv until I can afford a brand new one. This has felt like a new car, No mechanical problems, door locks like to stay down on the unlock though, and I personally can't stand the automatic locking doors as soon as the ignition key is turned! (took me three times of getting locked out while motor running to get many duplicate keys made!) Goes thru 1 qt oil every 2-3k. Lifters make a bit more noise than I think they should. But other than that, It's been a nice car, Getting ready to look for that Brand new one soon!
The Lemon
This is a lemon. I heartily recommend that anyone considering this vehicle look elsewhere. Be aware it is NOT a Honda - it is an Isuzu with a Honda badge, so forget about Honda's reputation. This should be judged as an Isuzu Rodeo.

What a
Driving our 1995 Passport EX 4x4 has been very enjoyable. ride has been comfortable, plenty of room, rear also, just a little stiff...we've had very little repair other than the usual maintenance. averaged 14 in the city and nearly 19 on the road./..this vehcile has plenty of uphill power with it's electronic gear shifter..the 4wheel has been superb in the snow we've taken it on several long trips never feelling driver or passenger fatigue. there's some air noise from the moon roof, but not bad, it can be drowned out by a little low music...hope to find another quality SUV in our near future...
Still Going Strong
We bought this new in 95 -8 years ago. We have not put a penny into this SUV for any repairs whatsoever! Absolutely the best, most reliable vehicle we've ever owned. Would like something newer now, just because, but will definitely get a new Passport.

No problems to mention. At about 101K miles had a miss, replaced plug wires, problem solved.
