Not another boring SUV

I am the proud owner of an orange 2004 Honda Element EX 4x4. It is safe, efficient, simple, comfortable, and very sure-footed on icy and snow-packed roads. The build quality is even better than that of my 1995 Accord (and I drove that car for 178,000 trouble- free miles). The styling is just different enough to differentiate itself from the countless thousands of bland Explorers and Tahoes that dominate surburban driveways. The visibility from the driver's seat is excellent and the short, sloped hood allows a clear view of the road immediately ahead of the vehicle. It corners very well and lacks the tippy feeling of so many SUVs. Overall, it is a very AFFORDABLE and functional SUV.

This SUV is really great! Even though its the same engine like the CR-V, this car has style and looks. Has a lot of room and i can actally put something big in the trunk. Even though the exterior looks like its a box, it beats the toyota scion looking more like a BOX. This ride is for more young ones. The price is affordable.

Not the Target Market

We are retired and not in Honda's target market for the Element. I think the vehicle is to practical for the X or Y generation. It's fun to drive, although the short wheel base gives a choppy ride on rough roads. Goes great in snow even without AWD.

My Element Experirence

I wanted to buy a versatile vehicle like the CRV but instead drove out of the dealership with an Element. This is a very poorly thought out vehicle. Example, when you fold up the rear seats to make more room it actually blocks your side window access when you are backing up.This vehicle weighs almost 3,500 lbs and the standard "Accord" powerplant strains to pull it around. My AWD gas mileage city/hwy average 21-22 per gallon. The weight distribution of the "AWD" v.s. the "2 wheel" drive is noticeably different and the vehicles drive differently( I have driven both versions).
