2024 Honda CR-V SUV Consumer Reviews

Not the Honda I remember
Purchased a new 2024 CR-V in October 2023. Prior to 500 miles on the vehicle, it had a dead battery while in a heated garage. Got it started, died again while my wife was at work. Dealership had the car over 30 days to determine that it was a faulty battery. Replaced battery in January. Here I am in May, with a dead CR-V with less than 2k on the odometer. Dealer is booked until July….. I hope my kind of experiences are rare, but I can guarantee I will not be buying another Honda vehicle.

Here’s What is Missing
We traded in our 2018 Touring recently for an EX-L and noticed a few of the features have been taken away. Most notable: -No fog lights. The salesman told us they aren’t need with the newer headlight but we notice no difference between vehicles. The fog lights are handy and should be on every SUV. -No back seat release levers in the cargo area. They are now tie downs. This was also a handy feature. -No integrate garage door opener overhead. Why take it away? -No hands free cargo door open feature. -No chrome exhaust tips. -The engine bay is stripped down. No covers for aesthetics. On the plus side, there are more sensors for parking. The infotainment system is improved. Back seats have a nice recline. The fuel door release is on the fuel door, not a lever inside. And the engine bay hood prop is gone. There are nice pneumatic struts on each side rear of the hood now.

Meteorite Gray!
The car is everything that the reviewer said it would be. It rides smoothly. It is a lightweight vehicle. It's easy to understand how the functions work on the car. Lots of leg space and headroom. The only thing that I would have loved would be the push button to open the hatch. I have moonroof, heated seats, remote start. Forewarned it will shut off if it's been running for a certain amount of time. My parents were sitting in the car and I ran into the store. After a period of time it shut off. So I need to read up on that feature.

My new CRV is in for repairs!
I only have 2,000 miles on my 2024 CRV and it is at the dealer the last three days. Computer glitch which would not allow me to lock the doors and gave false readings. Dealer said they had never seen that before. After three days I am told that another part for something else needed to be ordered. Thus my new Honda CRV is in the shop 4 days for repairs. I am so disgusted with my purchase as I have lost confidence in the car and dealership. Rear styling of car is not as classy as other SUV's. Hard to see out of the back windows. Interior is fine, but pretty plain. Engine loses power when using Economy feature where I think it is dangerous.

Great car, terrible seats
I've had my '24 CRV Ex-L for 3 weeks. It's a great car -- very pretty, quiet, smooth ride, and the infotainment system is great. I absolutely LOVE the car. BUT, the driver seat is horrendously uncomfortable. I've never had an issue with seating in cars, on planes, or trains but something about the seats make them unbearable. My back hurts for hours even after a 10-minute drive to the store. I've tried a variety of cushions from Amazon and nothing seems to fix the problem. The seats are firm, and although they have seemingly infinite adjustments, the bucket-style "slope" of the seats and firmness can't be changed. I only chose to write this review after getting on Edmunds to look for a new car. I will likely try to trade it in and just accept the financial loss, which is hard; I did a lot of research and I can't find another vehicle I like as much as this one. But, the seats are just so bad that keeping the car isn't an option. For reference, I'm reasonably fit, 5'9", 175 lbs and in my mid 40's. I test drove the car a few times and did not pick up on this issue during those drives, so give yourself plenty of time to get a feel for the car during the drive.

Love it!
This is my second CRV. The first one was a new 2011 version and this one is a new 2024 version. As reliable as it is and very smooth driving. I am 5’11 and feel still lots of room for bigger size people. We easily fit our family of five in this vehicle.

Quality Build and Drive
This CRV LX drives strong and easy. Tight fitting panels and trim all around inside and out. Paint and Clearcoat thicker than many other Mrgrs. Brilliant design inside and out. While the LX is entry-level on this line, all safety features and most emmentities are included.

Ideal for the price,& features
I just needed a bare bones ,dependable vehicle. This LX model is it !! Plenty of room ,comfy seats, great visibility , price for features( & not for those I don't want, use, or need ) So far great mileage around town, 30 mpg!. Smooth riding, quiet for the most part. Very easy to get in & out of. Great for seniors, or a family. Infotainment system easy to use. Pricing good, but depending on dealer you CAN get $ off MSRP & honda rebate for being a loyal previous honda owner. All in all, great value for entry level SUV with most of what you need & use, & none of what you don't want or have to pay extra for. Win- win for me. !

Second CRV, Less is more
We had a 2021 EX-L on a lease and while I was getting the oil changed at 19888 miles they offered me a no money down trade in on a 2024. We had 90 days left on the lease. After looking the 2024 over it had more interior room, better sound deadening and updated stying both inside and out. It also has better acceleration. Probably the last car I will ever leave at my age. One of the shortcomings is it does not have the garage door feature built in. I have the app on my phone so it's not a big deal. The compass and other features are buried within the software and you have to look around a bit to find them. The gas mileage is better than the 2021 by far. Overall the operation is smooth and if you get the EXL you get front power seats and some other features including heated seats, power lift gate and a a sunroof. If you don't need that type of thing save your money. The materials inside the cabin are a step up from the 2021 and it looks more sophisticated. The price of all cars has gone up and for the money it's a Honda. We've had several Hondas and they've all performed flawlessly. We really don't put many miles on this car but we may purchase it at the end of the lease. We didn't need the all-wheel drive but we had it on the previous model so we just traded up again.

Love the SUV but.....
We have owned our CRV for a bit over two months. Replaced a Toyota 2006 with this SUV. Really love the SUV has lots of bells and whistles, nice response, handles nice, rides smooth. The only real complaint is the mirrors and the back up camera. The mirrors are too small and the position is not that great, making it hard to see to back up. So I am guessing, why do you not use the back up camera? The camera works great during the Daylight hours. Sucks at night! The camera in total darkness is very obscured and grainy. Even with the screen set at its lowest light setting, the light from the screen blinds out my side mirrors so we cannot see to back up. I do make sure the camera is clean, tried the different camera angles, but does not help at all. if you are in a lighted area, you can see the back-up camera fine, once again, it's only when you are in total darkness. I find this feature to be actually a safety concern, and I hope Honda dose a recall to try and fix it!

Downgraded
Loved my 2020 EX so much that I bought the 2024 EX. Love the new body style but disappointed in the downgrades. No compass, No Sirius XM, the seats are uncomfortable after a few hours and the cruise control sensor disables in heavy rain or if covered with snow.

New cr-v Honda
Alls I need was the LX to get to point a to point b. I did not want all the extras as it was 4k more. Paid 29500 plus taxes. Only have 450 miles and so far I'm very happy my purchase. It took me over 2 weeks to decide on this baby. Sure it would of been nice to have all the extras. Again I don't need it.

Perfect vehicle
Just bought a CR-V 2024. It's the best car we have ever owned. It has all the features we wanted, and the price was decent. Great car to drive! It has a lot of pep, is very manageable, very comfortable and well built. We are happy with it.

Love my AWD CRV!
This is an amazing machine!…Build quality is fantastic!…I’ve owned several cars thru the years including Tacomas ( which are still great machines)…but I even like this better!..At 3591lbs. w/190 turbocharged hp, it flies!…very stable and flat around curves…stops on a dime…and comes loaded w/features for an LX…love this car!..best one out there in my opinion for the money.

Issues after first month of purchase
Purchased this model and it started making loud noises from engine. The wheels make noises when the brakes are applied. Called corporate and they said that its normal. I have owned many cars and never had this issue.

Hard front seats and very poor rear visibility
I’ve had the car a little over a week and already regret buying it. I did test drive it but test drives can’t possibly cover everything in the short time they last. The front seats are very uncomfortable. I’ve tried every adjustment and have it to where it’s tolerable but not comfortable at all. More concerning is the lack of rear visibility. Because the D pillars are so thick, and rear seat headrests and seat belt mount block the sight out of the rear window, changing lanes is actually dangerous. I have bsm but even with it, the car feels dangerous to drive. Blind spots are very bad. I am probably trading this is shortly, even if I take a financial loss.

When is a cargo cover not a cargo cover?
When it’s in my new CR-V. There is a large gap between the rear seats and the installed cover which is sold separately. It’s much narrower than in the 2020 model. Poor design. Three other design shortcomings: no CD player, no built-in garage door opener and no built-in navigation. These are conveniences that I personally wish were available in this model. Otherwise I am satisfied with my purchase.

This may be the last car for this old broad.
So far, so good. Lots of changes to my driving habit, i.e., keyless entry, link to my phone for GPS, streaming vs. disks, safety features, etc. Discovered great neighbors who help me with the technology.

Love my Honda!!!
I had a 2017 Honda CRV-EX that was totaled and needed to be replaced. Since the original held its value with my insurance payout ( $6,500 less than I paid for it in late 2016), it was a no-brainer to buy another! The 2024 CRV doesn’t have the difficult to reach gas cover release inside the car, it’s a tap and open cover. They also improved the center console/arm rest. It’s much bigger and doesn’t have any moving parts. There is more room in the front seat area, so my 6’4” husband finds it more comfortable! Most other things about the two CRVs are similar. I don’t like that the 2024 CRV EX doesn’t come with a radio with Sirius XM!!! You have to use Car Play and your phone to access it. I also hate the Auto Idle Stop (AIS) system that must be turned of manually every time you drive the car. The price of the car went up $11,000 since my last purchase. While I expected an increase, $11,000 was much more than I expected! All things factored, I am happy with my purchase. I love how Hondas are so reliable and retain their value!!!
Smooth and different
I have owned and driven Hondas since 1983. This is my first SUV. The ride is smooth and tight. The turbo engine is a nice touch. Roomy and comfortable. Plenty of cargo area for us. The Honda sensing safety features are a welcome. To new to say more.

CRV 4LIFEr
Went from an 2008 Honda Pilot to a 2024 CRV LX. I’m in love. The back seat is spacious, very easy to load and unload my son, diaper bag, my purse, you know all the things. I feel very safe in this car. New mom mobile.

Fender failure
Hadn't left the dealership when while checking under the hood to learn where everything was I think my jacket pocket may have caught on the point of the front fender. When standing up the fender point was at 90 degrees. With the new front end design the outside of the fender is only light bonded to the inside fender with a couple of drops of adhesive. This is a problem!. Car was brushes will catch this like the jacket may have and bend these. Honda was contacted and brushed off my complaint. Dealer is working on a solution but this is a design defect that Honda should be taking ownership of. Buyers beware! In looking at other 2024 CRV's on the lot there was a wide range of resistance on the fender tip. And nothing keeping anything from getting underneath and lifting the fender.

A nice vehicle ..... but (2024 CRV EXL Hybrid)
After only 4000 km, I have a check engine light, flashing Transmission System Indicator, Blind Spot System Problem, Transmission System Problem, and Emissions System Problem.. Not exactly what you'd ecpect from a brand new vehicle. The Trsnsmission System indicator light went out after I shut the vehicle off, and remained off upon a restart. The check engine light is solid, and I was aadvised NOT to drive it if there were any flashing lights. Since there were no flashing lights. I drove it yesterday. This morning, the check engine light was off, so everything back to normal. Drove it a little today. Check engine light is back on solid, Transmission System Indicator light is flashing and warnings are back. Honda Plus Roadside Assistance is towing it back to dealer tomorrow. Very disappointing...July 29 the CRV was picked up and delivered. Diagnostics are indicating an injector problem.....they may be available in 3 weeks due to 'supply chain issues'...I haven't heard any updates from the dealer, so stay tuned....
Smooth Operator
This was my first venture into SUV world. Previously had a 2016 Honda Accord. That said this CRV checks all the right boxes. It's comfortable, quiet and it's got plenty of power. I'm not quite ready for a hybrid yet so I went with the 1.5 liter turbo EX-L and am very impressed. Honda once again hit another home run with this vehicle. The added benefit/bonus is having world renown Honda quality on every ride. That's peace of mind as well as having a great vehicle.

Love the personalization of drivers seat and ease of use of the display screen. Handling is great! Haven’t had the vehicle long enough for more. The salesman and manager were great ihelping me
Bring back some 2018 features
Don't likes The " Noddy in toy land" pufter horn. The passenger handle is placed too far back unless you intend to use your right hand and sit backwards on the seat. It should be on the window post but tbe airbag is there. Take a leaf out of Hyundai interior design for goodness sake. The piano black and shiny silver knobs look like a pimps car. Dash and console are retro, boring and too plain. The rear view mirror stem is too short. I cant fit my dangly thing or my husbands disabled tag on there. Don't like the tacky phone recharger plate. Dash is much higher than the 2018. I have to use a booster seat. Car does a violent emergency stop when i reverse with my bikes on bike rack. Loves: still turns on a dime. Pick up really fast Car feels lughter with easy manuverability

Simple roomy compact suv
Love the crv i just wish honda made smart entry as standard. One of the small things that makes a big impact.
A huge disappointment! Never buying a Honda again.
Update: Still driving with a black and white rear view camera. Steering wheel column defective and still waiting for replacement parts. Steering wheel sticking bad and now part of a gear box recall. Parts are taking forever to come to the dealership and good luck dealing with Honda! Brand new car, total garbage! Stay away! I regret purchasing another Honda. They are no longer a quality vehicles. I bought a brand new 2024 CR-V ex with 10 miles on it. A few days after purchasing the car the rear view camera started going crazy and now it switches between color and black and white. Honda has no clue how to resolve the issue and the dealership is waiting on Honda. When the engine assist is on the brake pedal knocks once released. The cargo cover no longer comes with the vehicle and it costs $200. A huge disappointment and this will be my last Honda! Sadly, they are no longer a high quality vehicles.

I hade CRV in the past I had 2019 2020 and now the new 2024 my honest review, I think that crv is beautiful suv the front is amazing, but inside is a lot of missing details, the RADIO IS A COPY OF TOYOTA , the 2020 had better radio than 2024 , the seat are little narrow and really hard , the music ooh the music for the money honda can do better than that after that I don't have more complain , run perfec I love it but my complaints really are for the music and the driver seats

2024 CRV EXL
Cons: long hood makes parking difficult, lack of 3D camera view, still no built in garage opener. Rough and noisy ride, gruff sounding engine. Electric steering seems inconsistent. All the electric nannies are annoying, emergency braking has gone off twice without warning, once driving forward when a road median to left of lane set it off when road curved left, and once in reverse with bicycle on hitch rack set it off. Have to disable it and proximity sensors when bike is on rack. Instrument panel is cluttered, everything bunched on left side so not easy to read at a glance, only speedometer on right. No temperature gauge! Why have a tachometer on an automatic transmission? Heater slow to warm up. Hate the autostop feature but at least it can be disabled with a switch although it has to done every time engine restarted. Pushbutton start a pain, glows bright red. Electric parking brake, prefer old foot or handle style. Wireless charger is useless. Fail to see value of a giant entertainment screen, useless for anything but map GPS. Tire pressure system does not show tire pressure. Rear storage floor has lump and is not as useful as 2012 CRV Pros: has buttons and knobs for AC controls. Smart cruise works well. small 1.5 turbo has adequate power, if raucous when revved . Not sure if oil dilution issue has been resolved with this engine. Averaging 29.5 mpg on 90/10 city/highway driving. Have not driven in snow yet so not sure how awd will perform I do not enjoy driving this vehicle and would have purchased another but it is the only one we test drove that had seats that my wife found comfortable for her sciatica. At 9 months and 5700 miles I've had no mechanical or maintenance issues. Many of the telemetric issues would probably be common to most modern vehicles regardless of manufacturer

Pleasantly surprised
Great gas mileage, stylish, nice ride, controls convenient location. After 4 months of ownership I like the the city mileage I'm getting 23.5mph. Only a couple negatives. Not a smooth quiet ride. Drivers seat already starting to wear. Can see wear mark where wallet is in pants, plus next to edge wear showing. I wish I could attribute it to all the money in wallet alas it is not to be.

Not very satisfied with quality
Update: After driving 15k km, the backup camera quality is awful now, not clear at all. Steering wheel issues and there is recall on that with parts not available. The infotainment system is glitching and not responding to light changes, it’s really frustrating. Not happy with my CRV Great car overall, smooth and quiet on highway with good fuel economy. Very roomy and fun to drive.
