After Trying

After trying all the other SUV's, I decided to wait a few months until the new CRV came out. I don't regret it! It's as perfect as a car could get. The gas is not what they say it's supposed to be, but I didn't expect that not to happen anyway. I love it!

First Class! WITH A PROBLEM THAT KEEPS ON GIVING

Traded in a 2015 CRV Touring for the 2017 Touring. One word.... WOW! The fifth generation is light-years better than the 2015 on so many levels. Where to start. Comfort, quiet, responsive steering, room for stuff and passengers, features, safety and that marvelous 1.5 liter turbo engine linked to a vastly improved CVT. The fifth generation is well thought out. I am glad I took the "trade in hit" for this CRV. After driving for 6 months and a few longer trips I find this CRV to be very "user friendly". Honda's Safety Suite eases the stress of longer drives. ISSUE !! Since purchase discovered the CRV has gas in oil issue. Cold weather and short trips seem to be a factor. Changing oil every 1500 miles in winter to Keep issue at minimum. Honda is aware of issue but no fix in sight. Same issue as Chinesse CRV where many were recalled. Do your homework. Honda has released a fix. Do your research before you buy.

Let me start by saying that I own 2 Honda generators a 928 snowblower, lawn mower, weed-wacker and rode a Honda Magna for 6 years, so I am familiar with their bulletproof reliability and owner satisfaction. After test-driving the Ford Escape, Volkswagin Tiguan, Toyota RAV-4 and the CR-V, I narrowed it down to this and the RAV-4. Even though the Toyota dealership offered me 0% financing and $100 below invoice, I felt the CR-V was the superior vehicle in many ways. The Honda is definitely more comfortable and roomier in both the front and back seats. Plus the interior design feels more elegant and refined whereas the Toyota appears cheesy and generic. The Tiguan was nice, but definitely more expensive and has confusing controls and displays. Escape was pushing 30k for a mid-level trim. I am glad I made this purchase and can now understand why the CR-V is the #1 vehicle in this class.

Nicest CRV ever

We are highly satisfied with the decision to pick the CRV from our list of three finalists. It drives really well, the safety features/technology work well, the ride is miles ahead of what we had with the 2013 Accord V-6 we had (rode like a truck), lots of room, turbo really takes care of hilly terrain. The interior is attractive and the car is well finished overall. The 2017 CRV presents a very convincing argument; it is hard to find a better engineered product at this price point and a vehicle that does what it is supposed to do, period. One negative item... Check the undercarriage; my Canadian made CRV had numerous rust spots on the suspension parts, such as bolts, struts and bushing brackets (anything made out of carbon steel), It showed evidence that it was driven over salted down road from the factory to the shipping dock, pretty serious rust despite of only having 18 miles driven when i picked it up. This is something that is not very evident when shopping around and easy to ignore due to the "new car fever" and other distractions. The dealer after some "friendly arguing" agreed to remove the rust spots and applied some preservative; the mechanic did a really nice job, helped us and Honda avoid unnecessary repairs/costs in the future. After a thorough inspection a year later, the rust problem is still under control. Another negative item...A month after with roughly 600 miles driven, the battery is dead after the car was parked at the airport for 7 days; a new battery was purchased (was not refunded). Two months after that the battery is again dead, this time in my own garage. This has been the only problem. A very positive item...Took the car to the dealer and they quickly fixed the problem by re-loading a new version of the software . The car has been parked as long as 10 days a few times, no more dead battery. At two plus years of ownership... Fuel economy (after two years of driving and 58 fill-ups) is now averaging 31 MPG (combined driving), worst (in town only) was 24 MPG, best (highway only) was 39 MPG. After two years, normal fuel economy in town is now up to 26 to 28 MPG. The battery problem never came back, the initial undercarriage corrosion issue is not a problem, now... The korean made tires (Hankook Kinergy GT) became very loud (with slightly less than 14000 miles on the odometer), they drop about 5 PSI in just 30 days and wet traction is still poor. So at 14K miles the Korean tires had to be replaced due to low traction and increased road noise. We still like the car. It is efficient, reliable, very roomy, still looks and runs like new. No visible wear on the leather or other interior fabrics, it still looks like the day we purchased it; same for the exterior, under the hood ,etc. Great product, i would recommend the CRV to any one.

Nice vehicle but no heat in the winter. Gasoline in the oil and now oil changes every month! Updates to the vehicle and Honda has treated us well!

Good money for the car! A lot of options out there. Find what is best for you! But I found the performance to be decent, loved the styling inside and out, and was very practical. Great feature set for the money. Interior quality is great, very nice materials. Some cons include the entertainment system but CarPlay is good. Another con is the auto headlights and auto wipers which don't seem as automatic as they as should be. LED headlights are very nice and improve visibility. City fuel becoming does not seem realistic at all! But highway is as expected.

LOVE LOVE LOVE my THIRD CRV the BEST SO FAR!!!

Well I am a Honda girl, it started with my 2005 CRV that took me 120,000 miles with just one issue, a rear caliper and continued on when we traded it for a leased 2014 model. The lease was up in a couple months so my husband and I decided to test drive the newly released 2017. We LOVED it! Purchased and drove it home that day!! WOW what a difference 3 years makes! Whenever my husband is in this vehicle he comments on how much better this CRV is compared to our last ones. The heated leather seats are so much more comfortable than previous ones, the interior has finally been upgraded to more quality materials and it shows. Love the feel of the steering wheel, the leather accents are wonderful. The ride is much quieter and more comfortable. I was impressed with how much less road noise this model has. LOVE the automatic high beams !!! Never have to remember to turn them on and off anymore, I was skeptical on how well they would adjust automatically but I am amazed at how perfectly they do the job. NO GAS CAP to fight with anymore, that's a great feature too! Love the auto tailgate, FINALLY!! I was originally considering buying smaller SUV but test drove the HRV months ago and wasn't impressed with the power it had. This is definitely the largest CRV to date and the extra room in back seat is obvious to all. Our Goldendoodle is usually the only one back there and she seems pretty happy with it ;) It did take me a bit to get used to all the new tech though. There is so much more to learn when driving these new tech savoy vehicles, but I am impressed with all of it! Honda did an amazing job of taking the dependable but kinda boring CRV and raising it to a whole new level! Lots of comfort and charm, LOVE it! 22 Month Update; STRESSED OUT! I have loved this CRV since the second I test drove it. Loved it still until 3 days ago while researching newer CRV reviews at Edmunds.com I came across the issue the Turbo engine is having with gas mixing in with the oil and obviously infiltrating the engine. I grabbed a rag and went to garage and was heartbroken when I saw the oil level over an inch higher than it should be! Then I smelled it and sure enough there was gas present in the oil. I went to my local Honda dealer the next morning (where we have purchased 4 vehicles over the last 13 years) with pictures of my oil level on the dipstick and with information from Consumer Reports describing this issue and what we should do. Well I expected an apology and a "yes we will gladly change your oil at Honda's expense" but that is NOT what happened. First I was told it didn’t look like a Honda Dipstick... WHAT? I was dumbfounded by that comment. Then I was told I was going to have to pay for it. WOW! The service manager ended up covering my cost as he knew I was upset. I was told there is no fix for this issue yet but they are working on it. Well THANKS HONDA for standing behind your product and for not taking any actions to help your trusting customers who paid a good amount of money on your vehicles and now have a major problem with them. I was a diehard Honda girl, this is my third CRV and it is stressing me out knowing I am driving and paying for a vehicle that is most likely being damaged as I drive it. I called and filed a case with Honda America requesting they cover my CRV for more frequent oil changes until there is a fix for this issue. They stated they would be contacting my Honda dealer and would call me back with their decision in 1-2 days. Today is day 3 and no call yet! The rep was very sympathetic and stated they are fully aware of this problem and are working on a fix. Unless they install a new engine in mine I will not be satisfied. Why did China recall and ban the sale of these Turbo engines once they were aware of the issue but here in the U.S. we haven't even been made aware of this serious issue by Honda or their dealerships? I would bet the Honda tech who did my first oil change was aware my CRV had gas in the oil when done last year. I would have had more respect for Honda had they been up front and honest about this as soon as they were aware of the problem. This will be my last Honda. UPDATE: As of June of last year, we no longer own this CRV. Settled our lawsuit and sold it to a dealer a day later.

Owned my 2017 CR-V EX for about 2 months now and been really happy with it so far. Got over 3,300 miles on it with no issues. Fuel economy has been great so far and the cap-less gas tank is really convenient. I had to replace my 2012 Acura MDX after an accident and was worried that I would miss the larger and more powerful vehicle but after driving the CR-V, I was very happy with the performance. I also currently own a 2010 CRV and the 2017 is a huge improvement over the older models. If you're looking for advanced safety features, then be sure to give the CRV a try.

Dissappointed

I switched brands from Chrysler to Honda - based on their reliability ratings. Well let me tell you, throw those ratings right out the window. I traded in a Ram1500 and a Jeep Compass for TWO Honda CR-V's. One is an LX, other is an EX, both AWD. The EX has already experienced a dead battery - left me stranded after only 6 weeks of ownership, something that has never happened to me before in all my years of driving, and I am 64 years old. The dealer replaced the battery, but I still feel like something else might be wrong - - the electronic dashboard keeps doing goofy things. Also, this vehicle is plagued my countless rattles. The other one - the LX, is also plagued by countless rattles, and is at times, hard to start. The only good things I can say at this time, is the vehicles are roomy, and do get good MPG's. I personally prefer the 2.4 engine in the LX, over the 1.5 turbo in the EX. For Honda's so called great reputation, I am highly DISSAPPOINTED, in these 2 CR-V's. I wish I would have stuck with Chrysler products. My recommendation is do not buy Honda.

I bought my car in March 21 2017 , great car until now I am disappointed with Honda repair service, they can’t figure out the problem I’m taking my car in for the second time in this month. I hope the issue gets taken care.
