Really Enjoying My New CR-V
I've only had this car for a couple of weeks, but we've driven it 1000 miles, mostly in the Rocky Mountains. It handles great and has plenty of power for climbing hills (on roads; we haven't driven it off-road). I rode some of this week in the backseat, and it was very comfortable because of the reclining seats. We found that with the larger half of the backseat folded down, we can fit both of our bikes in the car with the front tires removed. (The tires fit too, just not on the bike.) The little "tire well" thing under the rear floor gives space for storing extra oil and all that too, out of the way. The AC is also very powerful, which I missed in my last car.
Black CRV
First personal car in 10 years, researched and drove a lot of vehicles. The CR-V has to be the best value out there. 2006 does not appear to be out at all and 2005's keep rolling in as of 9/05. 6'3 and good to get in and out of. Ride is not a Cadillac but tight and responsive. Some torque steer but not too bad. You sit up high and feel very safe. The LX has all but wheels and sunroof which lowers headroom. The LX for 2005 has all the safety items including side air bags. If you get black and tint the windows it is an EX w/o sunroof, all the plastic matches. Mileage poor but only has 800 miles @ 18 MPG mixed. 1 return for back seat belt jammed. Excellent pick-up and the 4 is enough.

Better than last years
The '05 CRV LX has all the safety features the '04 EX had plus stability control; and is starts at $19,995. We bought our '05 LX at a dealer 50 miles away because they had it in stock. It is more stable at speed, and handles better than an '04 Tribute we traded in. The Tribute rarely got more than 17 mpg. The CRV at its first fill up with 140 miles on it got 20.5. The interior is roomier than the Tribute and the Saturn Vue we looked at. The build quality is excellent. All the body panels line up and the paint is perfect. It also does not squeak over road imperfections like the Tribute. With the new standard safety features and less than $20k price; this is a hell of a deal.
GREAT VECHICLE
DRIVES VERY SMOOTHLY,HANDLES VERY GOOD.THE EXTEROIR
CR-V: safe features and economical
The added safety features in the 2005 CR-V at a price under $20K made the purchase decision easy for me and my wife. There are 8 air bags (2 front, 6 side), ABS, and stability assist. I'm 6'3" and there is plenty of room for me. Kids, ages 10, 12, and 15, can sit in the rear without being overly crowded. The 5-spd automatic is quite smooth. On interstates, road noise is noticeable, but wind noise is not. I did not buy this vehicle off-road use and don't live in a snowy climate, so I could forego AWD and save some money. The CR-V had about the best EPA mileage for a small SUV, and insurance costs are not out of line. I don't need a lot of power so the 4cyl 162 HP engine is more than adequate
Great Vehicle...
I just traded in my 2000 CR-V LX for the 2005 CRV SE and so far I love it. I love the comfort features on the new CRV SE that were previously not available. I have only had the car for a few days but so far it is great. Much better than my 2000 although my 2000 CRV LX never had any problems in the 4 years I owned it. Great deal for the money...
Comfy Special Edition
This is my second CRV and I love it. The special edition has leather heated seats that are comfy yet durable. This upgraded edition offers a different driving experience due to the luxurious interior. there seems to be ample room for anything and all features are well thought out. The overall appearance, inside and out, aesthetically makes this edition extremely appealing.
Digital Displays
One big complaint about the 2005 Honda CRV. The digital display on the radio is way too small. You can not see the digits for time from the rear seat. Also, when the radio is on to AM setting, the display makes it look like the time is always "AM". Very bad design. Additionally, the outside temp display uses very tiny digits -- too small to read while driving! Otherwise, this is a GREAT car!!
my new crv special edition review
I just bought my CR-V Special Edition in June of 2005, it's my 3rd Honda & so far so good, I love it. It's so much fun to drive, I like being up above the other cars on the road. We have alot of rain over here on the Big Island of Hawaii & the CR-V handles very well in rain & on curves. It's a very quiet vehicle, some times I can hardly tell it's running. There is plenty of room in the back seat for tall passengers. Ant there is so much storage space, Now my dog & I go everywhere in it. I'm glad I bought it instead of another car. Well gotta hit the road....
Practical Car
Well packaged, well made small SUV. Engine/tranmission is smooth and reasonably powerful, but no rocket. Front seats are OK, but should be angled a bit more for taller drivers. Outstanding rear seats. Good controls, although the gear shift can be in the way sometimes. Nice open cabin. Good handling, nicely weighted steering, easy to maneuver. Reasonably quiet, but road noise intrudes. Mileage ~24 mpg(needs more driving to get a better average)
very very nice
I bought my 2005 crv and its a great car! AWD is great in the snow and has plenty of room. I find the styling and interior a bit boring but the greatness of the car over rides that. Good gas mileage comfortable ride plenty of space great.
Excellent vehicle
I drove a 1997 honda CR-V for 160,000 miles and had absolutely no problems and traded it in for the 2005 I now own. The new car is definitely far superior to the 1997 in all ways except gas mileage which is about 20% lower than the 97.
DON'T BUY A HONDA!
Both the front and rear suspension are defective and make strange popping and knocking noises. This started after only a month after I bought the car brand new. AND after about 8000 miles, I started hearing gas moving around in the back of the car right after I fill the tank. Its been to the dealer almost a dozen times and they cant fix it. They say the gas sloshing noise is normal!!! Honda refuses to give my money back. Customer service stinks after talking to me for 6 months, the rep has tried to blame every complaint on me or my driving and cant even pronounce my name correctly. DON'T BUY FROM HONDA!
