I LOVE HONDAS
I just bought this vehicle 3 days ago,and I just love it.It handles beautifully although I had to get used to it after owning a VW.The comfort factor and the fun features make it wonderful. I love the reliability and safety factors that are usually included in only the most expensive cars. The warranties and competent service make me a repeat customer.
great compact suv
this is my first suv and first japanese auto. it's a great compact suv. wonderful outside view, easy to drive and park. holds large items in back. i added a few extras that i believe are worth the dollars. a cargo cover, cargo mat amd wheel locks. everything else is included in the purchase price. one item that should be changed is a variable wiper that gives more speed control.

very good car and value
I liked this SUV a lot. The cons I found are: 1) there is no much space in the front seats (for a 5' 11" person) my knees hit the steering wheel and I cant move it to avoid that and 2) it has too many blind spots when looking back or through the mirrors, we had to remove the headrests from the back to see better. The rest is very good. It does not burn a lot of gas, it is reasonable fast in highway, it is well equiped and it is reliable. In new england the 4wd help even when such a narrow tires.
The Anti SUV
Our third Honda, this one replaces a 1995 Civic that will go to another good home. Great car! Just right in size in features, ask yourself if you really need that Expedition to transport yourself and 2 kids around. I expect that we'll have this one over 10 years like the Civic.
Functional, good looks, and cheap!
Last week I found yet another storage bin in the CRV that I wasn't aware of. So much room for storage, comfortable seats (especially back seats) and surprisingly large rear storage. I traded in a troublesome 2002 VW for the Honda and it has lived up to the hype. Fun to drive, side-air bags standard, and good gas milage make this a no-brainer. Did I mention how affordable it is?
Love my CRV
Just bought this SUV after comparing with the Escape which I like also, however decided on the CRV because of better resale and quality. Also liked the styling better thans the Toyota Rav. Really liked the Kia too but was leary of Kia 's reputation.
my crv
Bought the CRV because it gives the flexibility of a minivan but allows you to maintain your dignity. My wife and I are constantly impressed with just how easy it is to drive this car and do errands, etc. Everything seems to be simple, in the right place, is at the right height and functions the way you'd expect it. And its still fun to drive.
Special Edition CRV
Although I have only had my CRV for three months, I am very happy with it. I am able now to transport my bike and kayak with no problem. I am particularly happy that Honda has decided to go with Leather Seats in the special edition and the heated front seats have been an added bonus during this cold winter. The only slight negative is with the higher than thought gas mileage and the small gas tank, it seems like I am filling the tank up quite often. This is my third Honda and the reliability seems to be there once again!
2005 CRV Disappointed
I researched the Honda CRV for over two years before I purchased a 2005 model. I had to take it to the dealer for missing body hardware, coolant loss and a sensor replacement within the first six months of ownership. I doubt that any of these defects had any thing to do with the fact that it was built in England but that's for others to determine. Recently one of the front Bridgestone Dueler H/T tires, with only 6900 miles on them, blew while my wife was driving in her employers parking lot. She has a broken neck, concussion, facial laceration and head and body trauma. If Honda wants to build a high quality vehicle why are they using a tire that so many people are unhappy with?
Another best design Honda
I always though Honda CRV is a bit fragil suv even though my friends that owned them, loved them. Until now. My wife just purchased a 2005 CRV and I was surprised to see how many features were offered with this suv. Belive me Honda is compiting with german cars (I traded in a Mercedes C320 for this car).I guess I start wearing Honda's cap instead of MB or BMW.
My Pearl Blue Honda CRV
It's so smooth to drive, so comfortable. I can get the kids in and out of the car easily. I can fit so much in the car. I don't spend alot on gas and I have alot of room up front for all my belongings.
Love My CR-V
I've been driving big cars for somewhile and made the switch because offuture gas prices. The CR-V is really fun to drive and I'm 6'3". There is a solid feel to this car that I have not seen for a long time. There is plenty of power and the handling is very nice. I got 28.5 mpg on a trip last week. The room in this SUV is amazing. My CR-V was built in Japan which explains the high quality of this car. I may buy another one for my wife. Remember $3.00 gas by mid summer.
CR-V SE A Great Car!!
My wife and I just picked up our new CR-V SE last week and we love it already!! It is rock steady to drive, the leather clad seats are comfortable and supportive, the 2.4 liter engine has good acceleration and it looks like a much more expensive car on the outside (it kind of reminds me of the new Volvo SUV). But best of all...it's a Honda and that means reliability, a high resale value and economy of ownership!! This is the fourth Honda we've purchased (we traded in a 2002 Accord) and this may be the best one yet!!
Love my CR-V
This is my first Honda and first SUV. I was looking for small SUV with class. Checked Freelander, RAV4, Liberty but CR-V SE had all the options I wanted as standard and best value over all. It is fun to drive and has a lot of space.
Someone finally got it!
So it's 2005 and our cars are getting the same type of fuel economy they did twenty years ago. Honda has got it together, the CR-V is both versatile, elegant, fun to drive and yet it sips gas when compared to its American counterparts. I will stick with Honda even if they gave me a shoe box for a really expensive price, as long as it has that "H" symbol and it's good on gas I'm all good!
Lovin' It
My first Honda and I love it! I traded a 2005 Ford Escape because of issues I was having with the cloth seats falling apart and the interior felt very crowded. The Honda CR-V has so much more room. I love having the open space between the front seats vs a center console. I actually have a place to put my purse. Also the person sitting in the middle of the back seat has more leg room because the console is not in the way. Originally, I was concerned about the 4 cyclinder engine in the Honda but I found it is zippy and acceleration is no problem. After having looked at many other mid-sized SUV's on the market, I just kept coming back to the Honda CR-V. It has everything I wanted and more!
new owner
One week into ownership, and I love it! Can still load two kids' bikes and the kids. Used to have a Ford Windstar, so I miss the interior space a bit, but it drives like a dream.
The Best Car for Teenagers-Safest
The most affordable car for teenagers to drive. It is the safest because of its size between cars and suvs and it has an amazing crash test rating for a car of its type. It is ideal if you have a teenager or a new driver.
CR-V
Test drove PT Cruiser and Toyota RAV 4, but they weren't very comfortable. Someone at work suggested the CR-V, so I tried it and was very impressed. It's actually shorter than my Volvo sedan. Very roomy and comfortable to drive. My wife was a little intimidated about driving it at first, but was amazed at how easy it is to drive.
We like this car
This car was the perfect mix of a minivan/SUV, priced good and room for our two kids. The only downside is the interior scratches easily (plastic sides in the back and dash). We love to drive it, and the gas mileage is very good.
Love this SUV!
I've only had this car a few days and already I've discovered it's a blast to drive. You feel like you're in a really big SUV without actually having to drive a really big SUV. The ride is very comfortable, handling is good and acceleration is amazing for a 4 cylinder. So far I'm getting almost as good city mileage as I did in my 2001 Saturn SL, but I'm having a LOT more fun driving this one! All the cubby holes for CDs, glasses, etc. are really great and I love the fold down console because I can stash my purse next to the seat instead of having to throw it behind the front seat. I definitely recommend this vehicle to anyone who's considering one!
2005EX AWD CRV 300 miles
This car is very roomy inside, and feels like it has a lot more room in the interior than it looks like it would have on the outside. The headlights are fantastic! There is a blind spot on the left side near the back tire that is very annoying, especially when trying to back out of a parking space. Wish the doors would automatically lock when you turn the ignition on like my old car. Gas mileage is horrible, but the car is still breaking in. On my old car, if the emergency break is on, it would not budge! This one, I actually drove 1/2 a block before realizing I left it on. I don't think I should be able to do that!
Happy First Time Honda Owner
As a first time Honda owner, I have been pleasantly surprised by my experience with the Honda CRV SE. It is a peppy car to drive and handles extremely well.I am pleased with the ability to maneuver in tight NYC traffic as well as the responsiveness in fast moving parkways and turnpikes. I also like the styling.
From Jaguar to CRV
Turned in my leased Jaguar early to get my new SE CRV and love it!!! I drive a lot more miles now and the comfort and fun in driving the CRV is great. Easy to get in and out, great hauling space, beautiful interior (I had the wood grain added) with the leather seats and all of the compartments--it's wonderful! With a lot of interstate driving it can move along with the best of them--a lot of zip!
FOURTH HONDA
This is our fourth Honda and overall we are very pleased. The only complaint is road noise (however, we sold a Lexus to buy the CR-V SE). Would love to know if undercoating or different tires would reduce the road noise.
Praise for 2000 CRV
Has get -up and -go. Fun to drive. Comfortable. Back window windshield wiper too. I love the car. My children love driving it too. Drivers seat adjustable for driver. Color is Red. Table in trunk is removable and has a bin for ice drinks under it. Neat feature for a tail gate party.
Honda CRV Special Edition AWD
I have recently traded in my gas guzzling Ford Explorer for the Honda CRV. I am already satisfied with the comfort, gas mileage, and peace of mind with a better safety rating. I love this new vehicle and would encourage anyone to go out and test drive one. You basically get more for your money.
Fabulous
This is honestly the first automobile I've owned that I can truly say "I Love." I highly recommend this vehicle for its comfort and how well it handles on the road. I new I wanted a small SUV and I did my homework for over a year. I studied all small SUV's and it was between this one and a RAV4. Boy am I glad I chose this one. Just the interior alone makes it worth my selection. There's more room in every area. Also, gas mileage. I made my first trip from Las Vegas to Anaheim on one tank. All this and an excellent follow up from Honda. They follow through to make sure you're happy. Life is great!!
Like it so far
I am really enjoying my V so far, the ride is firm, and it handles well. Tire noise is noticable, but wind noise is minimal. Steering input is great, no play and enough road feel to let you know what the tires are doing. The V is very stable at speed, I'm sometimes surprised at how fast I'm moving. The engine, is smooth, quiet, and revs freely. Power is more than adequate for most situations. The transmission shifts readily, but does not hunt gears do to the grade logic system. This is an English made V, fit, finish, build quality seem very good. Materials are of a high quality. I did notice some minor orange peel in the paint (Black pearl). Avg MPG 26-27
A Practical Vehicle
Reliable, dependable, great traction in snow. Good cargo space. Drove it down to Florida and back.
My second CR-V
I sold my 2004 CR-V so I could get the 2005 Special Edition. The 05 had the few things I was missing on the 04. Sure you can find SUVs with more power, more room, bigger tires, etc. but all come with higher prices and a larger vehicle. This machine is as close to perfect as is possible.
Great in town SUV
This is a perfect small get a round town SUV. It does great in northren Michigan snow. Get low to mid 20's MPG all the time. Very tight, very nimble. Will probably move up to a 2006 EX model with a few more gadgets soon.
My Honda SUV
Easy to park and turning radius outstanding. Pulls great behind RV, displays "0" miles while in tow. Has outstanding resale potential after 4 years. 4 cyl engine very responsive and quick. Power reduces as speed increases. Low power in overdrive. Front seats are adequate but could be a little larger.
Special Edition CRV is Outstanding
I really like the way this vehicle rides and handles. The engine is really smooth. The back seats fold down and in to make for a lot of cargo room. I paid the extra for the Special Edition and the features seem are worth the extra pricing. I also got the sports package and it really make the vehicle look good. The Special Edition is assembled in Japan and imported, all of the other CRV's are assembled in the US. I love the heated front seats in cold weather. I plan to keep this vehicle a long time. I have two Accords and a Civic for our other family members. Hondas have always been a great value for us.
love the crv
Love to drive the car. Easy handling. Found to be good handling in the snow. Gas mileage surprisingly good. I get about 25 on long trips.
Not what I expected
After researching the CR-V, I thought it would be a great vehicle. After only several months, it has been in the shop 4 times for problems with the sunroof rattling and the driver's side back door rattling. The CR-V is a pretty loud SUV for interior noise. I wish I would have taken the time to drive it more when I was test driving. I also find that my left foot is cramped while driving. Space is very limited for comfortable foot placement. The driver's seat lacks lumbar support and the headlights do not have an auto function.
Zebe Review
More room inside than I thought it would have. Solid ride. Handles the road nice although pick up could be better - sometimes feels a bit sluggish. Mileage on sticker isn't true. Wish they had a hybrid model available.
Always said I would never own a Honda
My wife and I were looking for something to take the dogs to the park in, mainly because I don't want them in my 06 Avalon or my 93 mustang. so we looked at many SUVs but we wanted something small with room and reliability. I got mine with 52,000 miles on it and you would think it was brand new. I have read 100's of reviews and the CR-V has great ones, Seems the 05 has issues with the Transmission, i have not experienced any I bought the 36,000 mile warranty so I am good till 98,000.
designed by a women for a man
the crv has so many features there too numerous to mention. Its a small suv which makes it easy to handle & park. Hoonda are by far the most reliable cars I've owned
My lil CRV
Because I am on the road constantly, Reliability together with looks is of paramount importance. My little CRV has been a real Gem. No problems with it since I took possession over 100,000 miles ago!! I recommend this vehicle very highly to anyone looking for a small SUV
Must Own
I started with a 1999 CRV bought the 2nd in 2002 and now my 3rd in 2005. I travel and depend on this vehicle to get me safetly to and from my travel area. Keep the oil changed, rotate the tires, and check the brakes is all it takes to keep these vehicles in top condition! I am a Honda owner for life!
2005 CRV-SE
I love the vehicle - For it being an SE it is missing some features such as homelink, powerful stereo, lit vanity mirrors, power drivers seat and fog light. The CRV is very fun to drive and is compact but has alot of room...etc backseat and the rear. We love how the back seats recline. I am suprised that Honda hasn't moved the gear selector. This is definately the best vehicle for the room and the money. You can't go wrong with a Honda.
Teolis'CRV
My wife was interested in a smaller SUV. We had two cars to trade, as I did not need to travel as much, being retired, and she liked the appearance of the CRV. Her daughter-in-law in Chicago had one. We traded a 1991 BMW 500 series (131,000 miles) and a 1994 Dodge Caravan, (64,000 miles) plus $15,000 cash total.
Honda's Rule!
I traded in my 2000 S40 Volvo because we needed a larger fuel efficient vehicle. I researched Honda, Ford, Toyota, and Volvo. Honda came up the winner for economy and quality. I laugh when people tell me nice truck because it drives, rides, and feels like a car. We love it I wish that I would have bought a CR-V in 2000 when we purchased the Volvo. The four cylinder engine feels like a V-6, very peppy and fun to drive. I know it is not considered a luxury SUV however I consider it my luxury SUV. The heated seats, steering wheel controls, moon roof, and leather seats make it a wonderful vehicle to commute in. Very well done Honda continue the great work!
Loves it, Loves it!
I traded in my 1997 Honda Civic for a bigger car. I decided to get the CRV due to my love for Hondas. They run FOREVER! Also I love the low maintenance. My CRV feels like I'm driving my civic, the only difference is that I can see so much more due to being up higher. This car gets good Gas mileage, handles like a dream, and just fun to drive in general. The airbags all over the car make you feel extremely safe. Very, very roomy interior, I can drive around my siblings, my friends and my dog all at the same time!
A Big Disappointment
My wife and I bought the vehicle two weeks ago and it has spent more time in the shop then us enjoying it. The vehicle has been there three times for the same problem(front alignment). Afetr each visist we were told that the vehicle was corrected and that it meet Honda specs, and each time they found something else wrong. If this is Honda specs I would advise against purchasing a Honda. The enigne is lack laster at best. The body is suppose to be on a Civic chasis but fels more like a jeep.
Piece of Junk
Extremely underpowered, and the AWD doesn't work. The shifter is extremely akward to operate, and often gets stuck. Aside from the decent gas mileage, I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone and am looking to get rid of mine.
my new crv special edition review
I just bought my CR-V Special Edition in June of 2005, it's my 3rd Honda & so far so good, I love it. It's so much fun to drive, I like being up above the other cars on the road. We have alot of rain over here on the Big Island of Hawaii & the CR-V handles very well in rain & on curves. It's a very quiet vehicle, some times I can hardly tell it's running. There is plenty of room in the back seat for tall passengers. Ant there is so much storage space, Now my dog & I go everywhere in it. I'm glad I bought it instead of another car. Well gotta hit the road....
Practical Car
Well packaged, well made small SUV. Engine/tranmission is smooth and reasonably powerful, but no rocket. Front seats are OK, but should be angled a bit more for taller drivers. Outstanding rear seats. Good controls, although the gear shift can be in the way sometimes. Nice open cabin. Good handling, nicely weighted steering, easy to maneuver. Reasonably quiet, but road noise intrudes. Mileage ~24 mpg(needs more driving to get a better average)
Excellent car!
This has been a great car for me and my husband and two golden retrievers. Love that we got an interior with leather, the dog hair would have been awful on cloth. It's pretty comfy to drive in, although my husband (5'11") complains about the way it feels for him to drive it, his knees bump into the console.
