Serious safety flaw in VSA system of CRV
I was in a severe accident, because of the VSA system. I was on the onramp and there was a sharp turn, when I tried to comply with the turn, the VSA took over and turned the vehicle the other way, and I hit the guard rail, almost totalling the car. Be very careful I was lucky to walk away, with any major injury. I was slow enough that the airbags did not even deploy.
Nice car!
This is a very good option to who want a Compact-suv, Good on comfort but could be a little better , all season car. Well, seems that the engeneiring could be a little more strong but is enough for the 4 cylinders present on this car. I recommend this vehicle !

I love it
The car has an excellant ride. Comfortable no matter where you sit. It handles very well in all weather conditions.
Love It
This is my 1st Honda ever and I am trying to figure out why I haven't bought one before this. This is a very fun vehicle to drive nice quite smooth ride. The price on it can't be beat. The only thing I don't care to much for is the comfort of the seats, they are firm, need to be a little more plush just like the vehicle is. The vehicle is a Very Classy Smaller SUV. I highly recommend if you have a family of 4 plenty of space for all. We esepcially love the picnic table and the sunroof. 4 1/2 stars for us (again just because of the firmness) that's all.
Moving On Up
After having a 2004 Civic LX for 7 months I decided I wanted something a little bit bigger but not as big as the Accord. I took one look at the 05' CRV EX and was hooked. This SUV has plenty of power, space and comfort items. I'm 6'1" and I can sit in the back seat with both of the front seats all the way back and my knees have about 2" of space between them and the seat in front. GREAT JOB HONDA!
4th Honda since 1990
This is our 4th Honda and we are very pleased with all of them. We didn't even consider another auto maker when we purchased this CR-V 2005. The previous Honda's were Accords, 4 dr. & 2 dr.
I love this car!!!
I waited for 3 years to buy the CRV. I did not like the interior of the 2001. Finally Honda made the interior with as much comfort as my accord. I love the size...not too big...I own the SE ...so it took a little while to get used to the leather interior but the heated seats in the winter were well worth it!!!
Best of All Worlds
We bought this new SE in looking for a car for my mother--we wanted everything- -particularly in a safe, comfortable, attractive drive which could handle all road conditions, coming truly highly rated on all aspects which make a difference. This SUV has everything one could want, with a car-like ease of driving. We know we won't have to worry about my mother in terms of safety or reliability. This is a well thought out design on all fronts which merges attractiveness, drive, safety, interior features, incredible standard features and overall class for an incredible price for the Special Edition.
I Love This Car
This SUV is so much fun to drive that I hunt all over the neighborhood for someone that needs a ride or to go somewhere, just like I did when I first obtained a driver's license
Car feels great
Everything you need, nothing you don't, and for a very good price for the list of safety features, including lots of air bags, vehicle stability assist. Excellent interior space and utility. The 4 cylinder feels just adequate for the size of vehicle while maintaining good gas mileage. 5 speed transmission that is very smooth.
Love My CRV
As an owner of many SUV's prior to this I thought they were pretty much all the same. This truck is fabulous...comfortable, handles great, fuel efficient and reliable. I am a Honda owner for life...Don't let yourself down!
Good Choice For An SUV
I have found that this SUV is very comfortable, easy to handle, has decent gas mileage, and is fun to drive. For what you get with the price you can't beat it with other SUVs.
I couldnt be more pleased...
I travel the country a lot and have it in all terrain. You name it. Never 'off-road' though. It has been completely reliable.
Great Commuter vehicle
I commute 120 miles a day in the Chicago area, and have driven everything (cars, small pick-ups, SUV's). I chose to buy an SUV to save gas, but got so much more. These 4 cyclinders have enough pick-up to rival my old Dodge 8 cylinder 4.7 litre, and without the guilt of burning 16 mpgs. In addition, I was rear-ended by someone doing over 45 mph in my new CRV(sad day). The body shop was amazed at how the rear end crumpled exactly how it was advertised. Because of this, there was no actual frame damage, and the cabin remained intact. I stayed intact as well, and am glad I was in such a safe car. When I am not commuting, I now feel much better knowing that my children will be safe in back!
THIRD TIME AROUND
This is our third Honda, first CR-V. Peace of mind=Hondas in the garage. Bought this model only because the SE trim level. We looked at everything on the market at all levels and always came back to the CR-V. We did not want 300 horsepower, hugh monthly payments, bad resale, status symbol etc. The CR-V works great. It has everything we need and more. Most important it has Honda engineering and build quality. Well worth the time to look at this before you buy.
Great Car Lousy Tires
I was surprised to find good power and handling with this small vehicle. I hope it will have a better resale value. My local dealer balanced the tires twice but I still find going over 60 mph is noisy and rough. Equipped with bridgestone duellers.
awsome ride
My husband and I purchased this suv a week ago and love it! There is so much room inside and in the back seat that we were suprised! We go on trips all the time with our friends and now we will all have plenty of room. The interior is well designed with plenty of storage. Overall just suprised at how well it handles, not joking when they say it handles like a car. Also is much quieter than the toyota rav4 on highway.
Explorer V8 to CRV
I had an Explorer V8 and loved it, however, it was always a gas hog. My CRV not only delivers on gas mileage which half the Explorer thirst but give a better ride and great manueverability. My big dislike is the dealer not disclosing the SE version which I could have purchased a couple months later and the excessive wind and road noise. Other than that its been a great vehicle.
Love my new Honda CRV EX
This car has been a blast for me so far. I really enjoy the way it handles, and its pick up, dispite its 4 cyclinder engine. Another feature I really like is the radio controls on the steering wheel. I highly recommends the CRV to anyone who is thinking of purchasing small SUV in the near future.
CRV ***5 STARS***
I am a former Civic owner and purchased my CRV last year and I love it! It handles so much better than my Civic and it's fun to drive. It is virtualy maintainence free with scheduled oil chnages every 5,000 miles or 6 months. I think that it's the best in its class.
CRV is Outstanding in Every Way
Traded in a 2003 Subaru Forester XS on a 2005 Honda CRV-EX. The Honda is quieter, smoother, handles better and has TONS more room - especially in the back seat. The Subaru Forester got better mileage, but not THAT much better. I have an hour-long commute each way, so a tape player (with CD changer) was a key feature so I can listen to books- on-tape. Many similar vehicles no longer offer a cassette deck! Can happily report that the CRV is also better in Maine's snow and ice than the AWD Forester! This was a surprise to me, but the Real-Time Four-Wheel Drive, Traction Control and Stability System do their jobs with an invisible efficiency - the CRV is unstoppable in the slop!
CRV Quality
This is my 2nd Honda, it has been good over all, but have concerns about the overall quality of Honda. 5000 miles, the driver front airbag sensor went. Dealer told me they have seen a lot on the 05 Odyssey with this problem. One of the trunk interial panels just never got install properly from the factory, has one corner popped out. I had a brand new Civic EX before, 2nd month I had the car, the bumper paint was peeling off. Otherwise I'm happy with the CRV, good size trunk and fuel economy, long list of standard featurescomparing to Toyota RAV4
2005 Honda CR-V
I've owned this vehicle for a little over five months and all i can say is that i've fallen in love with it..I prevously owned the 2000 crv and passed it on with 80,000 miles and never a problem to speak of...This 2005 model seems to being heading in the same direction...Just love everything about it; except the rear middle seat safety strap with comes down from the rear ceiling near the back door. I feel it's unsightly and awkwardly placed.
Not happy with new CRV
As an expectant mother I wanted a mini SUV and wanted the "reliability" of the Japanese cars. I went with the top of the line SE edition. Within 3 months of buying the car, a strange clicking sound began from the steerting wheel area. It became unbearable and so I took it to the dealer. They needed an entire day to take the entire steering wheel apart. I had meetings in the afternoon and since Honda has no loaner program even for situations like this where a new car is performing so poorly, I was unable to leave it. I planned on taking it back, but the noise has become inconsistent and they won't be able to work on it if they can't duplicate it. I am very unhappy with the CRV and Honda.
my 2004 honda crv
Love this car it's fun to drive , good handling and very dependable. It has had some rattles that do not seem to disappear around the drivers side rear seat. Hard to locate. The front seat armrest is useless for larger drivers. Mine has not been getting the advertised gas milage.
"SEE OUR V"
This is my second Honda, (still have my first one--10 years old and still going strong). Wanted a larger vehicle, but nothing too big. Extensively researched the Equinox, RAV-4, Vue, Sorrento, Escape, Tribute, Highlander and Liberty, but options, fuel economy, reliability and price kept me coming back to the CRV. The vehicle comes fully loaded in the base price of the SE model. Most other companies charge extra for, "packages," that can be added to the vehicle. Fuel economy is much better than most other SUV models. Very fun to drive. Lots of pickup for a 4 cylinder and tackles hills without a problem.
Very Recommendable Vehicle
good ride, very smooth although the pilot is a way much better ride but hey, its still a Honda!
Love my SE CRV
I love everything about this vehicle: Leather heated seats, 5 speed Automatic, 160 hp, 6CD/Cassette, superb looks, good mileage, roomy interior, and Honda reliability. I also think it is one of the safest vehicles with a 5 stars crash ratings, Vehicle Stability Assist, ABS, EBD, side/curtain airbags, and 4WD. Low cost of ownership and excellent resale value ... What do you need more? Yes, I got it for 200$ below invoice. Shop around!
Dee's CR-V
This vehicle is eye catching and has outstanding performance. I'm proud to drive this car and see the envious glances I get from my neighbors!
City driving equals a lot of gas
So far I have not gotten close to the city mileage they claim in their ads. I average between 14 and 16 miles to a gallon around town. I thought with a 4 cylinder that the gas would get at least close to the 20 or more miles to a gallon that they claim in their advertising. However on a highway trip I was pleased to get 25 miles to a gallon. Overall I am happy with this vehicle, but wish that the city gas consumption was much better.
VERY VERY NICE TRUCK
This truck is not was i expected. I assumed the 160hp engine would be slow and not enough for my lead foot. But i was wrong this car is fast enough. I think maybee the gas tank could be bigger, less frequent pit stops. But ALL in ALL CAR Is great and no regrets so far Yes i know the shifter is a bit strange but you get used to it.
My Honda CRV-EX
This is a fun car to drive. Huggins Honda gave me a fair price and were not high pressure, and did not treat me in a sexist manner.
My 2005 CR-V EX AWD
After test-driving the Tucson, Rav4 and Escape, the CR-V's interior has better quality, the exterior fit and finish is also superior. Cargo area would be improved if the rear seats folded into the floor; this is a major flaw with the CR-V. Another major flaw is the rear swing door, it should be replaced with an overhead lift door. The CR-V is fun to drive but needs better tires than the OEM Bridgestones. They are noisy and hard riding. Honda still needs to put more thought into some of the interior details. Indicator lights need to be added on the drivers side window controls along with lights for some of the storage bins. Overall, the CR-V is a nice compact
Great light suv
This is a fine ute just the way it's set up . adding a 6cyl will make it too heavy. as will wider tires (more rolling resistence).A very nice trim package makes this car near perfect. The space under the cargo area seems to resonate the road noise.
Tall drivers beware !
After about a week of driving the car my right leg began to ache where the thigh and hip come together and it eventually became excruciating. I am tall, about 6' 3" and noticed that my thighs were not resting on the seat cushion like they do in every other car I have owned or driven. Instead, they are sticking slightly off of the seat so my leg weight is on the pedals and hip joint. The problem is the seat cushion is nearly flat and not distinctly sloped backward as in other cars - a very poor ergonomic design by Honda. I have to drive the car with a folded towel under my leg to support it.
Excellent
This just might be the first automobile I can honestly say, "I Love." It handles superbly in bad weather. For a small SUV, it is amazingly comfortable. I highly recommend this truck.
A True Bargain for American Motoring
This new model is a distinct improvement over the initial CR-V. The engine is far more adequate, while maintaining good fuel economy. The appearance and interior design are substantially improved. I love all of those quaint cubby holes for storage that Honda designs into their vehicles.
Why would anyone need more?
I've driven a number of cars in the past, but this CR-V SE is one of the top. Good mileage, great ride, very comfortable and easy to get around in. Don't believe the info about "too much engine noise" - its surprisingly quiet and has some features you used to find only on BMW or Mercedes. I will never go back to $50k autos.
Honda CR-V SE
I thoroughly enjoy this vehicle. I like the power.road handling and feel. the drawbacks are the design of the key fob- which has a button for the back hatch closely resembling the door lock. It also has sparse power controls - the seats are manual not power, and the passenger dash is unusable - poor design. The underseat storage is minimal. This seems to be a fault across the board with Honda products. Tuning the finer points would make a great vehicle into an exceptional one. Overall I am pleased with the performance of this one.
My First SUV - Lovin It
It's very different going from a Nissan Altima to SUV but I have to say I love it. I like being higher from the ground and your proliferal vision is so much better. I researched the RAV4, Forrester, Escape, etc. but thought the CR-V had much more to offer. The interior room is spacious especially in second row compared to SUVs in the same class. The ride is smooth and it handles great in the snow - no slipping and stopped when I wanted to stop. The SE package is reasonable priced with so many features - great options available - auto start/back-up sensors. My insurance was actually cheaper than the Altima because of all the safety features.
Pure Honda
I really didn't drive it enought to really rate it, never had it in snow yet, so so far is pure honda, no rattles everything works. Not one item found not working since new.
Darn Near Perfect
This auto has been driven hard since my family purchased it. It is just a pleasure to drive in the city as parking is no problem with it's tight turning radius, that being said, It is also very freshing to get out of it after an 8 hour drive and not be cramped up in the least. The engine has plenty of zip, enough to sail the truck on down I-95 in excess of 90 mph. You'll just be cruising along listening to the six disc CD player and do a quick speedo check and be wowed by the speed you were doing. It's a super car that has not had to be back to the shop for any unschelduled maintaince, period.
My CRV
Vehicle handles well. Has lots of safety features that are important to me. The inside is roomy and comfortable and rides well.
Love at First Ride
Began looking at Honda and Toyota sedans. On a whim, deciced to take CR-V for a test drive. Decided right then that I was going to buy a CR-V or RAV4. Doing my research & comparison, I came to appreciate the way Honda allowed the consumer to decide on the options, unlike Toyota which pre-packaged many options, bringing up the price several thousand $. I got exactly what I want for $5K less than comparable RAV4. I love the ride, handles flawlessly. I can fit in all of my dogs, including my greyhound in the back. I love the height that I sit at. 20 years ago spent $18,900 on a Crown Vic LX & it was really not a quality auto. Now I have spent only $500 more and have gotten a great quality auto!
Honda CRV
We've owned quite a few Honda products in the past. When the newly designed CRV came out, we decided to move into a small SUV and are glad we did. The CRV is a great vehicle. It sits up higher than our previous Honda Accords, handles very well. It is surprisingly peppy for a 4 cylinder of this size. Gas mileage is running about 22 in city driving and up to 28 on highway runs. We are very pleased with our CRV and recommend it highly
I LOVE HONDAS
I just bought this vehicle 3 days ago,and I just love it.It handles beautifully although I had to get used to it after owning a VW.The comfort factor and the fun features make it wonderful. I love the reliability and safety factors that are usually included in only the most expensive cars. The warranties and competent service make me a repeat customer.
great compact suv
this is my first suv and first japanese auto. it's a great compact suv. wonderful outside view, easy to drive and park. holds large items in back. i added a few extras that i believe are worth the dollars. a cargo cover, cargo mat amd wheel locks. everything else is included in the purchase price. one item that should be changed is a variable wiper that gives more speed control.
very good car and value
I liked this SUV a lot. The cons I found are: 1) there is no much space in the front seats (for a 5' 11" person) my knees hit the steering wheel and I cant move it to avoid that and 2) it has too many blind spots when looking back or through the mirrors, we had to remove the headrests from the back to see better. The rest is very good. It does not burn a lot of gas, it is reasonable fast in highway, it is well equiped and it is reliable. In new england the 4wd help even when such a narrow tires.
The Anti SUV
Our third Honda, this one replaces a 1995 Civic that will go to another good home. Great car! Just right in size in features, ask yourself if you really need that Expedition to transport yourself and 2 kids around. I expect that we'll have this one over 10 years like the Civic.
Functional, good looks, and cheap!
Last week I found yet another storage bin in the CRV that I wasn't aware of. So much room for storage, comfortable seats (especially back seats) and surprisingly large rear storage. I traded in a troublesome 2002 VW for the Honda and it has lived up to the hype. Fun to drive, side-air bags standard, and good gas milage make this a no-brainer. Did I mention how affordable it is?
