Good Car - But Watch Rear Impact

I actually love my CR-V. I have had it since December. On highway - gets advertised mileage. Around town (with some highway), only about 17MPG (this is the Auto, 2WD model.) One thing that bothers me is there is no rear bumper per se. I was rear ended this week - Nissan Altima doing about 5MPH. Pushed the back of the CR-V in about 1/2". Crushed the trunk (the wheel well under the floor.) When I crawled under it, there really is no bumper. The back of the vehicle is the bumper. I do not like that - this will be a VERY expensive repair bill. Like others have said, road noise is L- O-U-D .... have to turn the radio up to 60% or more to hear it when on the highway.

This is the 4th CR-V I've purchased ... they keep getting better and better! Drives more like a car than an SUV. VERY comfortable. Surprisingly agile. I'm averaging 24mpg which isn't bad for a CR-V! I am VERY happy and will probably get another one next year!

This is the best CRV I ever owned I used to own a 2002 CRV and I gave that car to my mother. The 2005 CRV that I own now drives and rides better than the 2002 CRV and also gets a little better gas mileage. The five speed auto transmission makes the CRV runs faster and improve gas mileage. I like everything about this CRV there too many to list.

Purchased a mini-SUV came down to a Toyota RAV4 and the Honda CR-V. I liked the body style of the RAV4 over the CR- V, but could not locate a RAV4 with leather, all-wheel drive and side curtain airbags. I purchased the SE AWD because of the AWD, leather and the body-color bumpers, side molding and spare tire cover, much more attractive then the black molding and bumpers. Athought the body style reminds me of a Chevrolet Blazer, it has the best safely features. As for the vehicle, it rides nice and it’s comfortable, although I do wish the CR-V had electric seats and removable rear seats. The SUV could use more under- body sound proofing, as the road noise is a little loud.

It's fun to drive, with plenty of useful room. I seem to be in a small minority who chose the Fwd version here in TN, but I don't intend to drive off-road, and I've done OK with Fwd sedans in the winter here. The engine has plenty of power. However, I think the engine feels "touchy", and the acceleration and decel. should be smoother. Milage around town after two tanks of gas is 21.6 mpg.

Previous vehicle was a '95 Toyota Camry; traded up for a bigger and hopefully safer vehicle that won't also be a gas hog. This is deceptively big with a very well thought out interior. It rides firmly and solidly over the rough roads of central PA. So far I have no complaints whatsoever about it. I love sitting higher when I drive and I am impressed with all of the standard safety features. I also love the interior cargo space - I'm an artist and this vehicle has plenty of room for me to haul around my paintings and other materials. Love it so far!

I got a new 2005 CRV SE in Pewter Pearl color with black leather seat inside. I have been waiting for the SE edition. The new color looks really nice, especially with the front and rear bumpers painted. I traded in my 2003 silver Pilot. The Pilot is nice but kind of big for me. The car is very fun, easy, and peppy to drive. Power is also good enough for me, better than 2001 CRV. Not a road burner but good enough for everyday use. The Pilot has more power but feel heavier when drive and so the CRV feels more peppy to drive. Noise is also very acceptable for me. It has been improved much better than my previous 2001 CRV but not as good as the 2003 Pilot.

I am a long term Honda owner who selected the CRV over the alternatives mainly because I have been VERY happy with my 95 DelSol. Thus far, my experience with the CRV and has been mostly negative: First, my car has a pronounced pull to the right: both under acceleration and when rolling. The dealership tried twice to fix it and then DECLARED THAT THIS IS NORMAL AND HAS REFUSED TO DO ANY MORE WORK!!! Moreover, American Honda is BACKING THEM UP! Second, Honda quotes fuel economy numbers of 23/29. So far, I've been getting less than 20 (primarly highway). I know its cold, and perhaps the engine still needs to break in, But so far this vehicle is far from fuel efficient.

So far so good, only had this one week, took one short trip at night, 100 miles, each way. Rides well for a small car, performance just adequate, but OK in town. I also traded in an Accord V6, so it may just take time to get used to. Quality seems good, and it was made in UK. No loose parts, no rattles, body parts aligned well. (So far.)

I purchased this vehicle a little over a week ago. I have been very pleased with the overall performance for a small SUV. I shopped around and test drove similar SUV's in the 20K - 30K price range before I decided on the CR- V SE. This vehicle, for the money, has got my vote. All the "bells and whistles" you need in a small (midsize?) SUV. There is plenty of interior room to fit 4 adults very comfortably. If you are in the market for a small SUV, give the CR-V a try.

I did an exhaustive research for almost 2 months for a mini-SUV and finally decided on CR-V. It's really sturdy and safe in the snow. The 6-CD changes with stereo/FM, height adjustible driver's seat, ABS, stability and traction control among other features make it really worth for the price. Since, it's a honda, i am not really going to talk much about reliability (i guess that's a given).

Veh. is ok, but it has shortcomings,i.e Road feel, a little noisy at hwy. speeds, radio tone stuck on bass setting, Always hit my knee on wheel tilt lever, no fog lights, no front mud flaps, all extra, rear seats don't fold flat, inadequate storage in front. No storage tray under pass. seat due to air bag sensing wires hanging down, no room. 2004 EX had tray. No lighted vanity mirrors, driver & pass windows has little to no tint. Passenger knees nearly hit glove box with seat all the way back, inaquate room. No roadside assistance program. Emergency brake on dash is awkward. I traded 2001 Hyundai Santa-Fe on the EX and had 60K miles with zero problems. Santa-Fe is superior all around.

The Diff is amazing. The trans. is smoother,Eng. noise is lower, and the leather seats are comfy for long rides. I have 800 miles on it and which are all highway so far, the CR-v holds it lanes and is easy to drive on the highway at all speeds-----sometimes you do not know how fast your going in the new HONDA CR-V Special Edition.

The only complaint I could have is that it doesn't have quite as much "pickup" as I would like when climbing a mountain road. Still, it doesn't LOSE any speed. It's the most comfortable vehicle I've owned. Beautiful styling overall. I feel that it has the best parts of station wagons, SUVs, and minivans put together.

I have only had my Honda for a short while (600 miles) but I see none of the problems (for example the complaint that CR-Vs often pull to the right) that some folks seem to have. Road noise is a bit more than I like but that is why the stereo has a volume knob. Overall I am quite happy with my choice.

Though there were no major changes to the 2005 the subtle alterations are great. The SE has a great pewter color, leather interior, 5 speed automatic transmission, smaller rear headrests and redesiged head and tail lights. Argualbly the nicest addition was the side curtain airbags. Thank you Honda, especially our dealership Scott Honda.

this crv is a great vehicle but after owning 32 new cars,(eight Hondas) this is the noisest vehicle I've ever driven!!! If I drove it before I purchased it I never would have bought it! I've driven (three) 2003 crv's and (four) 2004 crv's and none have the terrible ROAD NOISE this one has!!! It sounds like the rear door is always ajar! Be advised that in the 2005 model Honda went to a 16 inch tire, possibly this is the problem. The dealer says drive it for a couple of thousand miles to see if the tires need to be broken in or possibly replaced. I've only had it for 10 days but I'm extremely dissapointed with the vehicle (only because of the road noise) so far.

The new Honda have plenty of power. I don't understand why everyone want a 6 cylinder. I have no trouble getting around in the snow and it get 24 to 25 miles per gallon. I am going to keep this car until it drop. I think this is the best car for your money. Toyota is over price. I bought the new Honda with the sunroof and roofrack for $ 23,500 and that include tax.

For what it is I think this is a great car. You sit up high enough that you are not being run over but not in one of these huge gas guzzlers. The motor is not very powerful which is one of the reasons for getting the manual tranny. You can set the cruise for 80mph and it will go all day. Good inventment

I've put 1300 miles on it in the last 3 weeks. I enjoy being able to drive with confidence in ice and snow - the ABS, VSA, and 4WD contribute to this. Some road noise, but the stereo covers it up nicely. Wish it had a center console. Should have a cargo cover, but it's not standard. A good highway cruiser with plenty of power for most situations. Surges forward pleasingly at around 4000 rpm. Often don't realize how fast I'm going. Taut yet comfortable ride. Easy to roll rear seats forward and make a heckuva lot of room in back. Some body lean in corners, so I have to take them easy. I like the standard picnic table and moonroof. Cups rattle in cup holders - holders could be deeper.

This is a relatively new car, as I have had it for only 3 weeks. I bought it based on the Honda name and the features. So far, the car has exceeded my expectations. I have always driven larger and heavier cars and was concerned about the comfort and ride. So far, I am very pleased with the ride and the comfort is excellent. The biggest surprise is the excellent acceleration, even in fast traffic. The 5 speed automatic works great! All of my previous cars have been mini- vans, and I also was worried about the smaller cargo area. While I have not needed to haul any 4 by 8 plywood sheets yet, I have plenty of room for most of my needs. The value is great!

Purchased the 2005 CRV SE after looking at most of the competition. Had a high mileage trade-in that delayed the sales process but we finally came to an acceptable agreement Went to the Seattle Auto Show and looked at all of the smaller SUV's like the CRV and nothing comes close to the quality at the price I paid. Did the soundproofing for $250 and really can't tell the difference but I'm satisfied with the noise level. Not sure about the tire noise that I hear - this is my first SUV so I guess I expect some level of road noise.

The 2005 CRV LX vehicle is great. Engine very smooth and power is adequate. No problems with vehicle. Body is solid and very roomy inside. Seats are comfortable but could be improved (lumbar support), particularly the back. Tinting is a necessary in Texas and must be added. Turning radius is tight. My wife loves being able to store her purse between the front seats under the tray. By the way, this is my second CRV. I have a 2004 CRV LX for my wife. I liked it so much I bought one for myself. I was attracted to the Ford Explorer 2004 because of the great incentives being offered but rejected it because of gas mileage (17 mgh in city) and larger size. I'm happy with my decision.

Overalll an excellent, dependable, well built machine. I don't ever get the advertised MPG (I never get better than 19 MPG in the city and 23 MPG highway. I feel very safe in it and find it to be more reliable than anyother car I've owned. Pepole are amazed at how much "stuff" I can pack in the cargo area.

I leased a 2000 CRV and traded it for a 2005, they have made suggested improvements & will probably continue. I like the reliability and low maintenance the best. Seems like the car just keeps going & going with no problems if u keep up the regular mainternance items. It's THE BEST IN THE SMALL-MID SIZE SUVs.

Although this SUV is considered small, it is surprisingly large inside with great access and lots of space for stuff.Better pick-up than the older models plus a sunroof really makes it fun to Drive, adding a passenger side armrest pleased my wife as that was a complaint of hers on our other 2 It is easy to get into as I am 5'7". The heated seats are great and you sit high enough in the vehicle to get a great view of the road, Its easy to park and the gas mileage is good, I know 2 people who rode in mine and bought one and I said less to them than I have in this review so....

I bought my Cr-V in March of 2003. I drove it to Colorado in August. It performed just great. I love it. I had a 97 before that and loved it also. I got excellent trade in price for the 97. I would reccomend the Cr-V to everyone.

We had a 2000 CRV-EX and the 2004-EX has many nicer features. Better power and pick-up. Much quieter. Side air bags and door beams. Passive anti-theft system. Better dash board/clock day time vision. Better mirror and door lock controls. More cargo space. Adjustable rear seats. Larger tires. Better rear door. (un-locks with other door locks) Tinted rear side and back windows. Much better stereo and 6-cd changer. The cost is about the same as the 2000 (with the anti-thieft system added) (which saves 15% on our car insurance). Better location of parking break. Larger and better located front seat tray. Larger Dash board storage. and even better cup holders !
