5 1/2 years without a problem
Have owned my 2005 CR-V-SE since new and the only thing I ever have done to it is meticulous maintenance and a tensioner went bad while it was under warranty. Best car I've ever owned. Have owned Camry's; Maxima's and previously American cars and would only buy Honda in the future. Best dealer I found for service is Coggin Honda in Orlando, FL.
Great vehicle
Excellent all around vehicle. Great around town, great on highway travel. Good gas mileage for all wheel drive.

2005 CRV Rear Differential problems
Great car except at about 12,000 miles I started to have rear differential problems. When sharp turns are made at very low speed the rear end vibrates and shakes, and there is a clunking sound. Took it to the dealer. First they said i wasn't driving it enough. Then said there was a TSB saying that there was a lubrication problem with the clutches in the unit. Said they fixed it. Got worse the same day I drove home. I think its a defective differential, the screen filer inside is clogged, or oil needs to be changed, manual says 60,000 miles, probably should be changed once a year. Couldn't sell the car with that kind of problem. Still under warranty two years and 20,000 miles, back to Honda.
AC is a money pit
2004,2005,2006 AC units are so bad Honda had to settle a lawsuit regarding this piece of junk. Do not buy a used Honda CRV unless the AC unit has been replaced, it will cost you $1400.00 bucks to replace it. Eventually you will have to if you drive it over 50,000 miles that is about how long it will last.
