The Habanero

Saved up after working through high school to purchase a car. After countless test drives I came upon a one owner Habanero Red Pearl Si sedan with ~68k miles for ~10k. I couldn't be happier with the car. Initially the car had the infamous 3rd gear grind. Upon reading about the issue, I decided to change my transmission fluid to Royal Purple 75w-90 synchromesh transmission fluid (from oem Honda manual trans fluid) and the haven't ground third or any other gear since. I have kept up on maintenance (oil changes every 3k-4K miles) and have had no other problems save for minor things such as a brake light going out, replacing a battery, and a passenger window that occasionally doesn't want to roll down. Car is dead reliable after putting over 20k miles on it in one year and a trip from Indiana to Florida. Good acceleration, shifts like butter, fantastic handling, gray stock cat-back exhaust, cool interior features such as digital speedometer and great sound system. Keep up with maintenance and this car will go forever. I love it and I bet you will too!

Limited Slip Differential: My new woman

The car is amazing. You can take corners recommended for speeds at no more than 25 MPH at 65, and right when the car is about to jump out of line your VSA kicks in and pulls you back. Snow tires are a must as grip plummets when icy or snowy. 1st and 2nd gears are very snappy and when the VTEC hits it makes the sound of a raging banshee. The bucket seats cradle you and the sound system is extremely nice; much nicer than my father's TSX and Mother's Ridgeline. The worst thing about the car is the 600 mile "keep it under 4 grand" break in! It's well worth it once you do start hitting the v-tec and the shift indicator is a nice addition. Overall a great car.

Probably the nicest Honda product I've owned, but you can feel that there was more cost-cutting here than in the past, as while there are more features, the car doesn't seem as sturdy as previous models. Also, there are some glitches like a notchy, recalcitrant third gear and the strange surge from drive-by-wire when cold and the car isn't as smooth to shift as past Hondas I've owned.

Great Car!

This car is a great looking car & a lot of fun to drive. The car handles exceptionally well with the tradeoff being a ride that is rather stiff. There is a definite loss in gas mileage with the SI and being a usually thrifty person I would have to give hard consideration to the EX if purchasing again. Was pleasantly surprised at how well the cruise works with the manual transmission, much smoother through hills than the cruise was in my 4 cylinder Ford. The interior is arranged so that radio, temperature controls, etc are easy to find & use. Whether or not it is the best value for the money can be debated but when you are behind the wheel there are no regrets. This is one very nice vehicle!
